    Well I binged the whole series and it was so so sweet! Brilliant content and next level or two build. Really impressed with how you work. Nothing seams to phase you and the way you switch doing one thing to another amazes me. I tend to do one thing at a time and have to complete that bit. I have much to learn it seams. Fantastic showcase of your work and just what goes into these machines. I'm proud to own and ride an Apex customs board that's for sure 👍

      Simon Churchley ah Simon that means a lot Brother! I’m constantly learning better techniques and improving my builds all the time. The CNC helps me solve lots of problems man - I love having that

    Cool to watch you put it together. Like that dohicky on the front of the board. Thought to myself, why don’t I have that?! Well I don’t look down much, and I have the Flipsky VX2 which has some telemetry, not the most accurate but whatever. Those spacers were a perfect solution to the problems. I think the though you put into these boards is what separates you guys from the rest! Keep up the great work.

      Yeah must admit the davega isn’t my favourite, I like the mileage tracking though. Thanks man glad you enjoyed the series!

    Quite a professional build, Lee, and I expected nothing less. It is amazing the high tech machines anyone can now get for their garage or workshop.
    I reckon if you put your mind to it you could build right there in your shop a spacecraft to land the first man on Mars. He or she would definitely want to bring one of your custom board builds along:)

      Haha! It is amazing that we have access to these tools right at home now. I love being able to problem solve with advanced tools like this. Even a few months ago making that aluminium spacer would have been impossible but here we are! I have some more advanced projects swimming around in my mind but we are so busy right now it's impossible to start!

    Great series Lee, you inspire a lot of people dude! Look for sexbolts to level the bottom of the battery case. It may be usefull for future builds. Thanks for what you teach us!

  • @koenwilliams8819
    @koenwilliams8819 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does it feel like 9” mud pluggers decrease maneuverability? Also, if I do a lot of riding on sidewalks and roads, do you think that they’re overkill?

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      100%. 9 inch tyres are not very good for general riding. They decrease torque, decrease range decrease agility and generally make the board feel more sluggish. They are great for grip, just not for anything else

    • @koenwilliams8819
      @koenwilliams8819 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lee Wright so should I just get hard trampa treads? It seems like those have pretty decent grip

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@koenwilliams8819 the 8 inch tyres are my favorite. We also sell some nice tyres at Apex customs! Www.electricskateboarding.co.uk

  • @ratheonhudson3311
    @ratheonhudson3311 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Brilliant eye for detail. It's all running and sounds beefy. Are you gearing it for torque and not high speed?

    • @LeeWright

      Ratheon Hudson it’s 1:5 gearing so a big of both!

    Ok sorry for bugging so much but one last question. Why the preference over etoxx gear drive vs others like trampa?

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Etoxx gear drive is well proven over many years - very good gear drive!

  • @koenwilliams8819
    @koenwilliams8819 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey lee quick question. I’m loving Yens’ vesc 6 case, but it’s over $200. Do you have any ideas or recommendations for Vesc cases that look good like Yens’?

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The etoxx case is fantastic, there arent any other alternatives at the moment but we will be releasing a VESC case very very soon

    • @koenwilliams8819

    That's an awesome board right there! Well done again. I especially loved that wooden battery box floor with the engraved name/message. That was a really nice touch that makes that board "his" board. Ever consider staining the wood? 🤙

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have but no time and all that, needed to get it done! Thanks man, it is the little touches that make a build. Nobody will ever see that... but its there

    • @ErnestRamos
      @ErnestRamos 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeeWright Yeah that's exactly why I really liked that touch. It's something for the owner, and makes the board really feel like his. :D Cheers mate!

    Awesome build!👍
    wouldn't it be better if you set up the VESC's with inflated tires to prevent imbalance while mesuring the flux of the motorconfiguration?

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mario Schmid maybe, I’ve never noticed it causing any issues over the years. There was a school of thought many moons ago to not even have the belts on when doing detection. In practice it makes little difference for esk8 I think, maybe I’m wrong though!

  • @Blundey
    @Blundey 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like this build, the only couple of points id make is instead of taking all that time making the bracket for the esc, surely some washers and longer bolts would of sufficed? Lastly im not a fan of the wires going UNDER the grip tape. Youd feel that under your feet. Either route the deck and make it flush, or over the top of the bindings. Otherwise quality work!

  • @HENDOTECH1
    @HENDOTECH1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks great, I'm currently doing a more budget focused build. Currently looking at the flipsky 6.6 plus is this a good option or can I go a bit cheaper? Say the flipsky 4.20 I'm planning on using two flipsky 190kv motors. Also what size peli case is that?
    Btw love the channel :)

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alex Henderson I have no experience with the flipsky VESC tbh but I only hear negative things. The peli is the 1200 bro. Hope that helps

    I’ve seen crazier boards on your channel, shouldn’t it at least use 80mm motors to be considered top spec?

    • @LeeWright
      @LeeWright  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For an electric mountainboard you have to consider weight vs power. Same for the battery!

    • @RoadSurferOfficial
