Super fun, Mike V = childhood hero/adult role model- but what a difference in styles- that wall bump was muscular🤘 and his creativity is still in evidence. It also seems like he could totally catch up on flat ground tricks he if he put some practice in. Still a legend🤘
Mike V broke the ankle on his front foot and since then he can’t roll it sideways so he says he can’t even Ollie high now. So I imagine he’d have trouble getting good with flip tricks, but really no need, he’s got a style all his own and not a lot of skaters have that.

The juxtaposition of two different styles was fun to watch. I love modern skateboarding and how technical it has become. I also love Mike Vs tricks and style. I got to see him skate at a black label demo back in the 90s. I'll never forget that.
I remember taping Tony Hawks Gigantic Skatepark Tour onto VHS and Mike V would jump off the highest thing he could find at every stop he knows how to entertain the crowd and I always loved his individual approach to skating

He stopped flipping his board after really bad injury (i think might be the ankle I have forgotten now) around 2009 I believe, even olling flat was hard for him to do so he just dialed back more of the 80s style he pioneered when he first went pro at 16 in 88. Some fun Mike V facts: he was the first Tampa Pro winner in 95, had the first pro double kick deck (the Barnyard) and someone point this out but if I'm not wrong did the first switch fs180 ollie on film in the mini ramp section of Speed Freaks. In all honesty, I and my crew in Poland can't even think about a single 50-year-old Polish guy who would be fit and healthy and strong enough to do some jumping, let alone shred around the Berrics. Hats off and mad respect to our Elders -Mike Vallely you are a champion!
I want to see Steve Berra play a game of Skate. I think a lot of young dudes might not even know that Berra was a pro and a really good one too. His flat ground is on point or at least it used to be. He's got one of the best-looking backside flips of all time

Mike has some gnarly tricks! I'm pretty sure all he cares about is creativity and isn't worried about building up his flatground vocabulary. He knows he's not gonna win a straight up game of Skate, so he went first, showcased his style through "S-K-A-T", and then let Tyler do what he does best. I actually enjoy Mike shaking things up (his argument being that skateboarding doesn't have rules), but while skateboarding might not have any rules, games do, and "SKATE" is a game.
