I usually wash my wool stuff in the tub with some wool specific soap, I haven't had any issues. Just soak it and work it around a bit then lay flat to dry.
Can you review the Filson Forest Cloth Cruiser, Pullover and Pants? Thanks. I have the old model 860(?) whipcord pants from the 70's, they still look like new and are great hunting and outdoor pants. Very tight weave, virtually windproof. Used them on late elk hunts for years.
Use baby shampoo to wash your wool on delicates on a cold setting on your machine, you won’t have any shrinkage then and the baby shampoo won’t kill the wools natural oil, i use 50 ml of baby shampoo with just the one item , i think people forget that wool is a protein product and needs to treated like your skin, interested to see how your mackinaw anorak comes out, I have one and was going to wash it in the way I have just described ! 👍🏻
@wild for wool I purchased a large jac-shirt a few weeks ago. It’s too big. I’m swimming in it and Filson isn’t willing to do an exchange for a medium. Wondering if you’d recommend washing it in warm water? I know this is risky but I was thinking it would shrink it a bit and make it feel like a medium (or large in any other brand). I’m 5.10 1/2. Thanks so much. Great reviews
Hello, will this JAC-SHIRT in Seattle Wool 18oz be windresistent like Filson say? I will use this as liner for my MACKINAW WOOL CRUISER JACKET because this will let all wind thru. Or is the QUILTED PACK JACKET the better option for this?
Hey man, Been enjoying your vids for some years now. Keep up the good work! Recently got my hand on the Seattle wool pullover jac shirt in grey. Just like yours. Since its a limited edition its hard to find any information about it. Filson themselves did not know anything. The label says Made in USA (with imported material). Do you know which material is imported? Have a good one!
Unfortunately the pullovers were discontinued earlier this year. Customer service told me they don’t plan on making anymore at this point. There is a wish list on the Filson website, if enough people add it to their wish list I was told they might do another run of them.
I just ordered the jac shirt in oxblood. I ordered it because it’s lined in the body and sleeves so I don’t get the itchiness from the wool. Anybody have any opinion on it?
@@HappyHounds nah man it was an actual wool shirt on sale for 20 bucks. I don't know how many they were selling they were sold out but people were able to buy it in their final sale. That was like 2 years ago though. When they are offloading their old merchandise for their next catalog they do sales like that for some items and they sell out within an hour or 2 normally it's crazy
What’s your height and weight? I was looking to get a size 40 on an older model in the Jac shirt and I’m 6’1 175… heard filson runs really big. I’m usually a medium tts.
I’m 5.9 and 155 pounds. Filson recommends tall for people over 6ft tall. And they do have a tall option on the website right now. But depending on how you like your fit I’m assuming the medium should still fit just won’t give as much length. Medium fits me well but I get larger if I want the extra room for excessive layering
Sorry man, I love it to much to sell it! Customer service told me when I asked if they were coming back that if enough people requested it they would do another run of them.
10,000th viewer ;) Thanks for the videos, wish there were more reviews, especially since I order from Europe and when you know the prices of these jac-shirts, you don't want to take any risk. By the way what do you think of the price-per-wear or price-versatility ratio compared to a cotton over-shirt? I mean you probably can't wear it on its own in winter and in summer it might quickly get too warm no?
Thanks for watching! I will be doing a new video dedicated to the Jac shirts very soon. I’ll consider figuring out the price versatility ratio. I’ve been quit surprised by the versatility tho. I find myself wearing the 18oz one In the summer more than you’d think but definitely not when it’s to warm. I’ll consider getting more in depth with the temps I’m comfortable wearing it in with the next video
Isn't part of the reason filsons is so expensive due to the lifetime warranty? Why not just return it for a larger size? Obviously the one you shrunk may no longer be warrantied because of it, but deciding it isn't the right size and exchanging it for a larger one seems reasonable.
I'm wild about wool too but I've been going the secondhand option. My wife made a comment that I'm looking pretty uncool in my old wool gear. I may have to invest in some nice new pieces lol

i have old 1985 wool clothing. you got me back to the roots thank you.
I too am huge fan of wool products. I have several Irish sweaters and flat caps. I never wash my wool.
That Seattle Jac Shirt in Navy is really nice. This is on my list for sure. Thanks for review!

How do you dry it? Lay it on towel in a room?
I got the Seattle, if u want it as over shirt just get it in long and the fit it’s perfect
I got me the 24oz jac shirt, I love it! but I would like a lighter and thinner
version, is the 18 oz thinner?
Yes it sure is
The tags that came with my sweaters say to hand wash only and lay flat to dry.
Nice videos Friend, can you please do a review on the Shearling jacket in your intro video? That shearling jacket looked awesome!
Cheers!

What are your measurements?
Great channel, thank you. I especially like the Filson content.
I NEED TO WASH MY CLOTHES as well.
Thank you, glad to hear it!
I greatly appreciate that information, thank you and nicely done video to!
Love you’re videos :)
Should I size down if I get wool jackets ?
I could not find those pull overs on their website. Can you provide a link?

I think I saw the grey one on sale for 20 dollars on the filson site. I was gonna get it but was too slow. Have been beating myself since
No way it was $20..its like a 395$ shirt that's 195$ on 50 off sales... You maybe saw socks on sale for $20

Can you reference your height and weight for sizing? Thanks
5’9 150lbs
@@wildforwool3821 thanks man, great work! looking forward to new season of wool and Filson
Where have you been my man? Have the wells run dry? I havent seen you post anything new about this years Filson gear.
Back at it, hoping to stay more consistent!

I am like 10 or 15 lbs lighter than you so ruining about the small... Hope it's not too small
Any chance you would want to sell that grey pullover?? I would buy!

do you work at a filson store ?
No unfortunately lol
Maybe check out WearherWool!! It’s merino instead of regular wool so a little more money but Filson is pricey too! Cool review... gotta love wool!!!

I would but they no longer have these pullovers anymore
Seems kinda dishonest

Do it! You won’t regret it
these are dry clean only garments, you shouldnt be washing them in the machine at all wtf
