For a movie and a trilogy I watched in my childhood in the early 90s on weekends with my family on VHS it's always cool to see people watch the movies for the first time.

The gold bikini was Lucas' response to Carrie Fisher complaining that she was so covered up in ANH and ESB that you couldn't tell she was a woman. She also refused to use double stick tape while in the bikini so someone had to constantly check that she was still covered.
She also had a great response when someone complained that she was allowing herself to be objectified and what could that person tell her young daughter? Carrie said "Tell her some bad guy made me dress in a way I didn't like, so I killed him."
I was 8 in 1983. I remember when Luke sauntered into Jabba's Palace, and force choked the Gamorrean Guards. The ENTIRE theater sat up in their seats. The fact that he was wearing all black wasn't lost on anyone either. Great time to be a kid.
I was 6 when the original hit theaters, 9 when Empire came out, and 12 when this dropped. And throughout all of them, I grasped a lot more of what I was watching than this "reactor" does. Not sure if it's because she's talking over dialogue and expose', or if her mind is focusing on making snarky jokes instead of on what she's watching.
@4everhealthwellness344 : If you're born in '75, you're 2 years old when the first Star Wars movie came out. And I bet a two year old can't grasp much of the movie, but not that an 8 year old would do much better, and that was the point the OP was making, that they literally grew up with Star Wars, and understood more with each movie's release, them being three years apart every time, back in those days. Luckily in my case, I watched them a little bit later, either on VHS or on TV, but I can't say when that was, but presumably in the late 80's or early 90's. And while I can't exactly remember WHEN I saw it the first time, it's safe to say that it was later when I had matured enough to appreciate it properly, that I became a fan of it, and I bought it on both VHS initially, and DVD version later on, which is the one I still have today, at least the old trilogy. The prequels also on DVD, but the sequels, I have on Blu-Ray.
@@JarodMoonchild1975 - Meh... there's no "sequels" to these films. There's only the weird money-grab tales that various Disney corporate stooges decided to foist on the public. Perhaps "Rogue One" holds up in a fan-fiction, side-story kind of way, but the rest is pure garbage and only serves to detract from the originals.
This has to be one of my favorite reactions to Return Of The Jedi of all time! I really love your emotional genuine reaction! Not many people have this as their favorite Star Wars movie but this has been my favorite Stra Wars movie and there's simply so much to it and there's so much to love and unpack from it as well, as well as an excellent excercise in storytelling by George Lucas, Richard Marquand and the team behind it, it's truly a masterful way to wrap up the story and bring closure to it in many different ways. Thanks for the video, reaction and commentary!
Ha ha! Lovely reaction, young lady. I grew up with this (8 when the original came out) in 1977). The prequels aren't as good, but they had an impossibly high bar to follow. Still definitely worth watching them. The original trilogy is just magical. It's unfortunate you already knew so much from modern pop culture. Imagine me as a kid meeting Yoda for the first time, or hearing "Luke, I am your father" in real time and being utterly blown away, Or getting to those final moments of this film and realising that you are actually rooting for Darth Vader to live!!!! For kids at that time, it was six years of utter magic!!! People nowadays say "oh, it must have been terrible waiting 3 years for the next film" but it really wasn't. Three years was just enough time for us to rewatch each film multiple times and analyse every single facet of each movie with our friends. Massive credit must go to Irwin Kershner and Richard Marquand, who directed The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, respectively, and to Laurence Kasdan, who wrote the screenplay for those two films. They managed to bring so much emotional heft to the films.
Not everything George Lucas did in the Special Edition was perfect, but showing Hayden at the end fulfills the circle of 1-6 and Anakins redemption so perfectly. My wife and I watched it yesterday again and we both cried here (as always).
The _only_ reason I stopped at this one! No disrespect to the person, but that kitten is what kept me on this "yet another SW reaction" thing the whole way through.
Vader was going to die anyway. The Force lightning of the emperor short circuited Vader's life support systems. That's why Vader said, "nothing can stop that now" when Luke said "but you'll die".
I know! I always think of that scene where he and the Emperor are strolling across the shuttle bay, after Emp says "And now I sense you wish to continue your search for young Skywalker.", Vader's expression is almost like panic: Oh, crap! If he can sense that, can he also sense that I proposed to overthrow him, with my son!?
I agree..... especially in Return of the Jedi....I thought it was stupid to add that dancing scene. But I don't remember the creature's name but love that they added that animal the stormtroopers rode on in the desert. I've seen that Empire Strikes Back was in the movie theater when I was a teenager. Even though I still know a bit about Star Wars I could remember that creature's name))) does that mean I should give back my Star Wars membership card??? 😊😊😊😊
Bingo. AND unaltered original theatrical releases, without Vader’s “Noooooo!” The silent original is more effective. George meddled too much. I have no problem with cleaning up some effects shots, etc. But not completely erasing them and adding new CGI. You can definitely re-composite cleanup and refurbish affect shots without altering the original film.
I can't do reactions when people have watched the prequels first, I was there in 1977 watching the movies that way it's the authentic experience in my opinion.
@@ChrisS-no3ft I remember the original without the Noooooo ! the scene was much more powerful without it Vader picking up the Emperor said all that needed to be said.
I just want to say, in a completely unrelated thing to Star Wars, grey tabby cats with big white feets are the best. I was adopted by one a little over 20 years ago and the 16 years we spent together were wonderful. May your young companion give you joy for even more years.
Ready to see you do the prequels - The Black Lightning Vader absorbed throwing him off the balcony destroyed his electronics in the suit, didn't have anything to do with the mask - The Emperor insured that suit would be susceptible to the black lightning to protect him in the future - Have a great Hapy New Year - Take care and be safe
Like he said right before Luke took the mask off, nothing could stop Vader from dying at that point. The emperors lightning shorted out his life support system which there would have been no way to fix at that stage (which is why Vader has such favored breathing after tossing Palpatine down the chute).
I just Binged watched all 3 of these in one sitting, Fun to watch someone else react to media you enjoy! Thanks for the content. Oh those little Teddy bear guys are called Ewoks :)
His character was destined to have a larger role as Harrison Ford had not decided after finishing TESB to do Ep6 so Lando was basically going to take on that role. Before EP5 was released HF had decided to do ROTJ.😎

Loved your reaction to this! In case no one has told you yet, the natives on the forest moon of Endor are called Ewoks. I can't say that everyone adored them, but they became popular enough to merit their own animated series on Saturday morning TV, as well as a few made-for-TV movies. They were some of my favourite characters growing up!
Originally, Luke's new lightsaber was going to be blue like the two other movies but the blue blade didn't stand out from the sky so it was changed to green.
I mean, before Episode 5 it was definitely intended that Leoa would be a love interest of Luke, because in cancelled sequel draft they do have a romance
34:43 a little fun fact, the title of this movie refers to this scene, .. the Return & redemption of a Jedi long thought dead!!!! Anakin Skywalker .. “Return of the Jedi”
Actual fact No1: The title in the original teaser trailer was The Revenge of the Jedi. Actual fact No2: The release title in greek-probadly in other languges, too-is in plural. So if it's about idividuals, who is the second one that's returning? And why would he/she want revenge?
@ actual fact No.1 George Lucas initially named the film Revenge of the Jedi to throw off the press and fans who were trying to learn the film's true name. However, Lucas later changed the title to Return of the Jedi after deciding that "Revenge" wasn't appropriate for the film. Actual fact No.2 Lucas originally wanted the title to be Return of the Jedi, but Lucasfilm Vice President of Production Howard G. Kazanjian thought it was too weak, Actual Fact No.3 Lucas changed the title back to Return of the Jedi a few months before the film's release. Lucas decided that "Revenge" wasn't appropriate because "a true Jedi should never seek revenge". and fainally - Actual fact No.4 George Lucas explains in interview promoting the special additions that the story of the saga is about Anakin, and in addition goes on to explain his return & redemption at the end of episode VI return of the Jedi, even according to the official Starwarsdotcom biography of Luke Skywalker, the film "Return of the Jedi" ends with the return of Anakin Skywalker. It follows that the 'Jedi' mentioned in the title is Anakin.
That was the perfect ending to the greatest trilogy ever. There was no need to expand on this. It was perfect. Loved your reaction to the greatest movie ever!
Vader was dying anyway as he was electrocuted by the Emperors lighting (you can see his skull lit up when carrying the Emperor), which also shorted out his suits life support (hence the dodgy breathing after he threw the Emperor down the shaft), thats why he told Luke to take off the mask.
"...how did you get your hands on that..." Um? In the second movie, the guy who took Han (Boba Fett) was specifically taking him to sell ("...what if he dies? He's worth a lot to me..." - Boba Fett). He was, I think, _specifically_ selling him to Jabba ("...the bounty hunter we ran into on Ord Mantel changed my mind..." - Han Solo). Remember from the _first_ movie that Jabba had a bounty out on Han. "...why'd she go through a trap door..." She drops through a trap door, stares in terror at a large, opening door, and then there's a monstrous roar, while people are looking down through a grating from above. ... 2 + 2 = ? "...I really hate stuff like that..." That outfit is famous... and slammed a generation of young boys (and some girls) into puberty. "...there is a creature that we have not yet really met... and I've seen so many things... there's a theory that he's the true villain..." Prequels. "...I'm so confused..." It's due to your memory. When they explained the mission they _told_ you it would be on 'the forest moon of Endor'. In fact, that they were 'sneaking in' (as you were surprised by) was _also_ explained during the mission briefing. "...she's no damsel in distress..." And never has been. "...is that a George of the Jungle thing..." Tarzan. George got it from Tarzan. "...I don't know their species name..." The small ones are Ewoks. "...the baby Yoda..." Um. Remember when Yoda was dying? "When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not." You never, ever, see baby Yoda. Ever. He never shows up in any media ever. What you are _referring_ to is a character in the TV series The Mandalorian. That character's name is Grogu. He is the same species as Yoda, but not actually Yoda. Yoda's species has never been named. Have a nice day!
20:54 I believe Carrie Fisher (RIP) always described Princess Leia not as a "damsel in distress", but as a distressing damsel! Truly a breakaway of the traditional mold!
Emperor Palpatine designed Vaders suit to be vulnerable to force lightening so he could always keep him in line. He was as good as dead with or without the mask at that point
I always love watching Vader’s redemption and the last scene as Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda observe the celebration and how far Luke and Leia have come. ❤️💚🌌⚔️🛸
George of the Jungle is a parody of Tarzan so Chewie swinging a vine and yells is a reference to Tarzan rather than George of the Jungle (that movie came out 1997, 14 years after Jedi, though The George of the Jungle cartoon series came out 1967 which was ten years before A New Hope, Tarzan movies have still been out since the birth of cinema even if the most famous ones came out in the 30's and 40's).
"It's like a Muppet." Nope, it is a Muppet. The two people that worked on the film were part of Jim Henson Productions, the creators of the Muppets. Jim Henson himself was brought in for 'Empire' to create Yoda and Frank Oz voiced him.
A very nice reaction, Erin. I am very much a Star Wars fan who's watched the movies many times, though I still get choked up at certain scenes (i.e. Vader's funeral pyre).
When the movies were released in the theaters, his was the first time we saw Jabba. He wasn't in the first movie originally. I wish the original was available.
That was a great reaction! Thank you! I didn’t forget about my promise to reveal my most favorite line of all the movies I ever watched in my entire life, which was in this episode - “I am a Jedi, like my father before me” … I only feel a little sad that you cut it out during editing. In eps. 1, 2 and 3 you’ll learn the full story of Darth Vader. Oh, before I forget - those cute creatures are called EWOKS and there is not one single girl who does not LOVE them. Looking forward to your next reaction. Salutations from Romania …
22:28 Original trollface. Han is so funny. The vision in the cave in "Empire..." was a premonition that Luke will take his father's place as a Sith lord if he fails, also the black glove when he cut off Vader's hand. Just remember this redemption when you enter episode III.
It’s ok to get emotional at the end of this one. I have watched this movies at least 25,000 times and the burning of Vader’s armor gets me every time. Vader vanished when he died like Yoda and Obi-wan did. It’s called became one with force, it’s a thing that only happens to true Jedi Masters.
Great fun reaction ❤ when Luke and Leia talk about the big reveal and she says she knew.. it's speculated that she meant she knew her father was Vader based on her Force "feelings" coming out.
Lucas's original idea was that the final battle would be with Wookies but changed his mind because he already had Chewbacca. He just made them half sized and called them Ewoks. All the questions you were asking about Vader and the Emperor will be answered in the prequels.
Please watch all the movies and make up your own mind. There are plenty of people that enjoy them especially children who have no nostalgia bias. I cosplay in the 501st for Star Wars events and can attest first-hand, there is something for everyone.
Hey Erin thanks for your review, was passionate and electric!!! I just wanted to comment on a number of things which George Lucas highlighted, and that was regarding the conflict within vader that there was a small part of Anakin that was still alive from the end of episode III within Vader, initial intention being the dark presence within Anakin wanted to sever all ties connecting him to his old life as Skywalker and in doing so he would reign supreme as the dark Lord of the Sith, but upon finding out that Skywalker’s children were still alive, this revived the small part of Anakin that still resided within the depths of Vader, and in doing so began the conflict within him this is why an Empire strikes back in specific sequences. George explained why there would be severe fighting from Darth Vader in order to kill Luke and the other times there would be force games, George explained that it was Anakin who actually prevented Vader from killing Luke in the Empire strikes back as no Padawan although Luke strong with the force could’ve stood up to a fully fledged dark Lord of the Sith
You must have forgotten a lot of things from Empire because it was said that Boba Fett was going to take Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt once Vader have frozen him in carbonite and at the very end Luke said to Lando "I'll see you on Tattooine" so it should have been obvious how Jabba got Han (he said in the first movie about Han's debt and that he warned him about delaying paying it) and where C-3PO and R2D2 are at the start. I got that as a kid when I saw those movies on TV in 1993.
1. Best guess is that Han was Jabba's "trophy" for about a year and a half (in that galaxy) before the rescue. 2. Vader discovered Leia as Luke's sister because he could feel it through Luke. Luke didn't know that until just before then. 3. Luke's light saber is green because he lost his old one along with his hand so they decided to make it green because it worked better in the desert background landscape. 4. Everybody is freaking out because Luke and Leia kissed mostly because she was trying to piss off Han. They didn't know they are related. 5. The "I love you. I know" was written into the script to get Leia the shot to say it to Han. 6. This was Warrick Davis's/Lead Ewok first acting gig. He was only 13. "Willow" is his lead with Val Kilmer and worth a first time/share. 7. Awesome camera work with the race through the forest. Nobody in their right mind would go that fast. 8. Carrie Fisher said in her biography that the most satisfying part in her Star Wars experience was choking out Jabba. 9. Jedi is plural. With Luke and Leia leading the way they can reestablish the Jedi back into the galaxy. 10. Ford wanted Han to die in the last episode. 11. IMVHO this is the best of the original 6 George Lucas Star Wars. After the first six he sold it to Disney, and everything changed. Sadly
a jedi uses his powers for knowledge and defense only. Luke hid from Vader to avoid conflict up until the point when he threatened his sister. Now he's defending her and goes on the assault to protect her
Vader's suit of armor contains a life support system that helps him breathe, and that was short-circuited by Palpatine's lightning, which also electrocuted Vader himself. That's why he said there's no way to prevent his death at that point, in fact he presumably had used the Force to keep himself alive as long as he did despite critical burns from the electricity and the loss of his life support mechanisms.
I agree with you. Of the three original movies, this one is by far my favorite. Most people like Empire the best, but I'm with you, Return is the best. Now, onto the three prequels and then you have to watch Rogue One.
The creatures on the “forest moon” are named “Ewoks.” Obviously, never named in this movie, but named in two TV movies released in 1984 and 1985. They are named “Caravan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure” and “Ewoks: The Battle For Endor.” Both of those movies are on Disney+ right now, specifically under the heading “Star Wars Vintage.”
Little known fact but in the original movie when Vader finally decides to save Luke he doesn’t say anything. You keep looking back and forth and interest lunges, picks up the Emperor, and throws him over the side without a word I do not know why Lucas thought he needed to add Vader saying, “no” to this, but for those of us that’s all this in the theaters in 1983, it feels like a sacrilege
Interesting bit of trivia: Ian McDiarmid who played the Emperor i actually two years YOUNGER than Harrison Ford (Han Solo). Incredible work by the makeup department to transform him into the Emperor.
This movie impacts HARD. While most Star Wars fans say - and I am one of them - that Empire is the best one overall, some of the scenes in ROTJ are really up there.
@@chrisd4228 Yeah, for sure. The last couple of minutes when Luke is just furiosly pounding away at Vader, and ultimately defeating him, and then still manages to pull it back to stand up to and defy the Emperor, and stay a Jedi... brah, fucking chef's kiss. 🥰
Lovely to see this sweet emotional reaction! :-) The original trilogy is just SO good, nothing since has really come close to it. Erin should definitely watch the Prequels and I hope she enjoys them. George Lucas made them 20 years later with a different team. Honesty, they weren't as well received as the original trilogy and divided a lot of fans. They lack a bit of heart and soul and there's a lot of CGI. But they're definitely fun-packed and entertaining movies, and a lot of people really love them. Oh and they also improve as they go along. Episode 3 is without doubt the best of the three so if you enjoy 1 and 2 then you'll love 3. As for the Disney sequels (episodes 7 onwards), they are widely hated by fans. I would say they are trash and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They have a more modern tone, less wholesome, and they're also just a complete mess. They were made by committee, there was no plan for the story, they just started making the films, changing director and writer every film, it was a mess and the result is a mess, with a highly unlikeable central character.
16:25 - I don't mean this as a negative at all, but yes I think you may be the only one who sees Darth Vader's head as a planet each time. And I love that you do. Makes me chuckle to think you your moment of "oh, his head. no a planet. again." Very cool. :)
The llittle teddy bears are called Ewoks. Originally Lucas had planned on having the forest moon be the homeworld of the Wookies (Chewbacca's species). However, after Chewy had showed how technically proficient he was in the previous 2 movies (and presumably other Wookies were as well), Lucas decided to cut them in half and scramble the letters around to make a different species. So, we got the pint sized cuddly Ewoks instead, which, I will admit, I originally didn't like because I guess I as a stick in the mud. Ive long since come around on Ewoks, and now I love them. Much like the prequel movies. I originally wasn't a fan of the prequels, for reasons (if I say what they are it would be spoilers). But years later, I rewatched them and they are actually very good. I have since watched the prequels almost as many times as the original trilogy. But you should watch them and make up your own mind. Anyway, great reaction. The little kitty in the background is adorable. Sorry the movie made you happy cry right before you were supposed to be streaming. I'm sure it all worked out.
There is an "alternate reality" comic book where Vader survives this. He turns to the side of the light and becomes a powerful Jedi again, fighting side by side with his son. He gets a new life support armor which is basically identical to the one he has here, except it's all white. So yeah... maybe removing the mask wasn't a good idea. 😅
Palatine's lightning destroyed Vader's life support system, which kept his organs healthy and circulated oxygen through his burnt system. He basically died of asphyxiation.
Darth Vader needed the suit to live (you will understand it more with the prequels), and without the suit only his rage and anger could keep him alive. When he came back to the light, with the suit circuits broken by dark force lightnings, there wasn´t chance to survive.
I went from 13 Years old in 1977 when I saw Star Wars to 16 Years old in 1980 when I saw Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. I was 19 Years old in 1983 when I saw Episode vI Return of The Jedi. It was amazing seeing it in the Movie Theatre. Everyone in the Movie Theatre was shocked and gasped when it was revealed that Princess Leia was Lukes Twin Sister George Lucas did not originally know that he would use Princess Leia as Lukes Twin Sister. In Episode V when Yoda mentioned another Hope it was going to be someone else. George Lucas decided that Viewers would not have enough time to get attached to a new Charecter to be Lukes Sister. So he just decided to make it Princess Leia. Anakin Skywalker was the Jedi who returned. Luke hinted at it when he tossed his Light Saber aside and told the Emperor that he was a Jedi like his Father before him. Everyone in the Movie Theatre cheered when Darth Vader picked up and tossed the Emperor down the Shaft. In the original Darth Vader did not yell No. He just kept Looking back and forth silently before picking the Emperor up. In the original the Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker was the Older actor who played Darth Vader. They added the Younger Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker after the Prequels were released.
There is an extra bit in the books that I like to bring up. Obiwan as a ghost was there on the deathstar watching the whole thing. When the emperor was about to kill luke, obiwan had already completely given up on vader turning back to the light. Once he did, it was obiwan that helped him become a ghost as well. Which is why I dislike what they did with luke in the newer movies. Luke's entire character is pretty much being the most hopeful person anyone could ever meet. *Everyone* gave up on vader except his son. Its why vader's last words were desperate pleas for his son to tell people that he was right to have hope. They kept this very much intact in the Expanded universe books as well. Luke was always that person that never gave up and always held a door open for people to change.

I was the same age, so you must be a 1975 kid too. I remember standing in line with my dad for almost 3 hours just to get tickets to ROTJ
@4everhealthwellness344 :
If you're born in '75, you're 2 years old when the first Star Wars movie came out.
@@Mr.Ekshin Good man
This has to be one of my favorite reactions to Return Of The Jedi of all time!
So glad you enjoyed!
@@OKPressPlayReacts thanks! Hope you're having a great day!
32:32 -- Vader went "F that 'high ground' noise, son."
The fact that you realize how amazing this is shows good taste. Loved your emotion at the end. Great reaction !
Not everything George Lucas did in the Special Edition was perfect, but showing Hayden at the end fulfills the circle of 1-6 and Anakins redemption so perfectly. My wife and I watched it yesterday again and we both cried here (as always).
9:21
Erin: "OMG [Carrie Fisher] looks so much _older_ now!"
Rick James: "Cocaine is a helluva drug!"
2 Seconds into the video, Me: KITTY!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Cat-mom here. I'm joining your club.🐈
It’s crazy how much emotion you can see in Darth Vader even with a full body face suit
You are officially a Stars Wars nerd now. Congratulations.
“We shall watch your career with great interest.”-Senator Palpatine ☺️😈🫣😂

hey I’m Ryan I have a movie request jungle book 1 and if you can please wear leather gloves to
The real original trilogy will always be pure brilliance. None of the others ever come close
Well, welcome finally into the world if Star Wars young padawan. You earned your rank with a lot if tears. 😇 Adorable reaction!
36:01 - that wouldn't have helped anyway; his breath support system had been shorted out by Palpatine 's force ligtning.
Like he said right before Luke took the mask off, nothing could stop Vader from dying at that point. The emperors lightning shorted out his life support system which there would have been no way to fix at that stage (which is why Vader has such favored breathing after tossing Palpatine down the chute).
*labored breathing…sorry i had to
@ Doh! Stupid autocorrect, lol. Thanks for the catch!
This is the first one that I was old enough to see in the theater. I was 6 when it came out.
I just Binged watched all 3 of these in one sitting, Fun to watch someone else react to media you enjoy! Thanks for the content. Oh those little Teddy bear guys are called Ewoks :)
Glad you enjoyed the videos!
I love Lando’s arc between The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.
His character was destined to have a larger role as Harrison Ford had not decided after finishing TESB to do Ep6 so Lando was basically going to take on that role. Before EP5 was released HF had decided to do ROTJ.😎
@@raybernal6829 it is also a secondary reception arc while Darth Vaders was the main redemption Landos was the secondary redemption arc if you look at it from another point of view

In case no one has told you yet, the natives on the forest moon of Endor are called Ewoks. I can't say that everyone adored them, but they became popular enough to merit their own animated series on Saturday morning TV, as well as a few made-for-TV movies. They were some of my favourite characters growing up!
You should find the interview with the girl who played the dancer falling into the Rancor pit. She was liked getting the part.
Glad you appreciated the emotional high notes... I agree it's my favorite Star Wars film... Thanks ❤
Originally, Luke's new lightsaber was going to be blue like the two other movies but the blue blade didn't stand out from the sky so it was changed to green.
The Emperor it´s not short at all. But Darth Vader, fully armored and with his boots and helmet on, he stood 2.03 m, or around 6'7" tall.
I don’t think George Lucas has ever confirmed this, but I heard somewhere that to make Luke and Leia brother and sister was a last minute decision.
I've heard that, too. I also heard that he was planning on giving him a sister, but originally it wasn't Leia.
I mean, before Episode 5 it was definitely intended that Leoa would be a love interest of Luke, because in cancelled sequel draft they do have a romance
Lets gooo :DDD i can't wait for the prequels
1:51 There was a comic where the Emperor tortured a man to death, cloned him and tortured his clone
That was the perfect ending to the greatest trilogy ever. There was no need to expand on this. It was perfect. Loved your reaction to the greatest movie ever!
As TLotR isn't actually a trilogy your comment is fair.
Vader was dying anyway as he was electrocuted by the Emperors lighting (you can see his skull lit up when carrying the Emperor), which also shorted out his suits life support (hence the dodgy breathing after he threw the Emperor down the shaft), thats why he told Luke to take off the mask.
Either way, he still was gonna die. In his state, he wouldn't make it to the medics, but they wouldn't save him, even if it was a direct order.
Great reaction. Thanks!!
"...how did you get your hands on that..."
Um? In the second movie, the guy who took Han (Boba Fett) was specifically taking him to sell ("...what if he dies? He's worth a lot to me..." - Boba Fett). He was, I think, _specifically_ selling him to Jabba ("...the bounty hunter we ran into on Ord Mantel changed my mind..." - Han Solo). Remember from the _first_ movie that Jabba had a bounty out on Han.
"...why'd she go through a trap door..."
She drops through a trap door, stares in terror at a large, opening door, and then there's a monstrous roar, while people are looking down through a grating from above. ... 2 + 2 = ?
"...I really hate stuff like that..."
That outfit is famous... and slammed a generation of young boys (and some girls) into puberty.
"...there is a creature that we have not yet really met... and I've seen so many things... there's a theory that he's the true villain..."
Prequels.
"...I'm so confused..."
It's due to your memory. When they explained the mission they _told_ you it would be on 'the forest moon of Endor'. In fact, that they were 'sneaking in' (as you were surprised by) was _also_ explained during the mission briefing.
"...she's no damsel in distress..."
And never has been.
"...is that a George of the Jungle thing..."
Tarzan. George got it from Tarzan.
"...I don't know their species name..."
The small ones are Ewoks.
"...the baby Yoda..."
Um.
Loved this reaction.
20:54 I believe Carrie Fisher (RIP) always described Princess Leia not as a "damsel in distress", but as a distressing damsel! Truly a breakaway of the traditional mold!
26:17 - I think I had the same helmet as a kid. With his chest-piece hanging down from the helmet? Yes, it did say that very line.
Emperor Palpatine designed Vaders suit to be vulnerable to force lightening so he could always keep him in line. He was as good as dead with or without the mask at that point
The dancer in Jabba’s palace was killed by a monster named a “Rancor.”
May the Force be with you, Erin!
Marvellous Reaction
Well, this Erin person who I am new to, she has her Anya to thank for my watch! 😻
The Special Edition will make anyone cry.
Great fun reaction ❤ when Luke and Leia talk about the big reveal and she says she knew.. it's speculated that she meant she knew her father was Vader based on her Force "feelings" coming out.
I can't wait for you to watch the prequels, Erin.
When you watch the prequels you'll see the similarity between Vader's burial and how he became Vader.
Great watch !!
Now he's defending her and goes on the assault to protect her
Leia unknowingly drew on the dark side of the Force for the physical strength to strangle Jabba and kill him.
35:03 Anakin fulfilled ancient prophecy .. He brought evil to its knees, by destroying the Sith and bringing balance back to the Force
When it hits you that Return of the Jedi is referring to Anakin coming back before he passes 💔
Return of the Jedi is also my favorite. Good reaction.
Chewbacca’s noise while he was swinging is a reference to Tarzan.
Anakin appearing at the end was the return of the Jedi.
I agree with you. Of the three original movies, this one is by far my favorite. Most people like Empire the best, but I'm with you, Return is the best. Now, onto the three prequels and then you have to watch Rogue One.
Cute name for the cat - reminds me of a cartoon cat and his favorite food to eat was Lasagna
And you are cute too
The creatures on the “forest moon” are named “Ewoks.” Obviously, never named in this movie, but named in two TV movies released in 1984 and 1985. They are named “Caravan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure” and “Ewoks: The Battle For Endor.” Both of those movies are on Disney+ right now, specifically under the heading “Star Wars Vintage.”
Yes I remember rented them from the video store as a kid.
Little known fact but in the original movie when Vader finally decides to save Luke he doesn’t say anything. You keep looking back and forth and interest lunges, picks up the Emperor, and throws him over the side without a word
I do not know why Lucas thought he needed to add Vader saying, “no” to this, but for those of us that’s all this in the theaters in 1983, it feels like a sacrilege
fun facts 1.The Ewoks where suppose to be Wookies 2.The first name of the movie was called Revenge of the Jedi
Had to wait so long for this to come out, so we could know whether Vader was lying at the end of Empire.
Interesting bit of trivia: Ian McDiarmid who played the Emperor i actually two years YOUNGER than Harrison Ford (Han Solo). Incredible work by the makeup department to transform him into the Emperor.
🙂 its so nice to see you watching this, may the force be with you 🙂
enjoy rest of the movies, creatures name - EWOKS 🙂
This movie impacts HARD. While most Star Wars fans say - and I am one of them - that Empire is the best one overall, some of the scenes in ROTJ are really up there.
The duel with the music still can give me chills.
Thanks to Erin and Lasagna! 🎆 Please keep watching all the live-action STAR WARS movies and tv series. 🤞🤞
38:24 "There's gotta be some kind of looming threat at the end..." Disney.
I think Luke saying "Ask me again sometime" to Leia meant "I hope you got we kissed".
After killing Jabba Leia became known as The Hutt Slayer among some of the Nikto species.
12:47 Actually there are behind the scenes photos of her sunbathing in the bikini costume. I don't think she hated it too much.
My favorite STAR WARS movie.
Cute kitty!
You think Obi-Wan and Yoda could have at least warned him? Oh yeah, by the way, this guy loves shooting lightning out of his fingertips
The little bear type things are called “Ewoks”
In the Theatrical Release, Vader didn't scream that embarassing "NOOOOOOOO!" when he grabbed the Emperor - it was much better that way.
You are pretty much a jedi now like most of us 😊
