    This is kinda how traffic lights know you are there for the light to turn Green. The metal from your vehicle inducts a current into the wire by way of induction which has to do with the North and South Poles repelling each other through magnetism. It sends a signal to the traffic signal cabinet to tell the light that there is a vehicle there.

      Radar is now used primarily instead of loops, in many dot programs in the us.

    i have the following question;
    what type of wire you are using for the loop?
    if i have existing gate barrier and i need to add only exit loop what i have to do exactly?

    can i twist the cable manually, and what are the necessary materials to put in place to have an effective loop detector installation?

    My company uses the same technique for commercial and industrical wire loops, we also prebuild loops in PVC conduit for new constructions.

    Greetings! I would like to know, to calculate the speed, from the signal sent by the central of inductive loops, is it used a microcontroller or is there a software for PC!? I will be grateful if you can give back..

    Shouldn't you test the loop before applying the sealer?

      Always test the loops inductance, easily done with an LCR, and at the very least insulation quality with a megohmmeter, sometimes called a Megger - from the brand name Megger, before you seal. Then document with a sharpie on the controlling device i.e. loop detector, gate operator, etc. Without a reference of the loops quality it may be time consuming to diagnose when faults occur and can help for warranty purposes. We recommend using backer rod (to allow the sealant to properly cure), BASF's SL1 sealant or Sika from Home Depot $12 a tube, and never splice the wire much less when its below grade. Overall this is a good representation of a quality loop install! Thanks for the video!

    What is the trick for keeping the twisted wire from coiling up when you take it off the drill?

    • @edkoga7321
      @edkoga7321 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike honcho ... Tie the end to a weight or have some hold it. Also twist the wire tight then when you remove it won't undo so much you need atleast 7 turn per foot .

    Another professional amateur Co.. If you want longevity for loops make saw cuts @ 45degrees. Wash your sawcuts and let dry. Dust prevents sealant from sticking! And they used thhn for many years b4 xlpe came along! Make sure you have atleast 7 turns per foot on your lead-in wires. Cuts should be 1-1/2 to 2 inches deep, lead-in cut should be if possible 1/4" wide for the twisted wire. Important: if wire insulation is cut thru to the wire you're gonna have troubles. Don't use it!

    hi there can you pls tell me which wire can we used for loop ? and how many wir rings do we needs inside the cut pls ?

    • @edkoga7321
      @edkoga7321 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      zaki alavi depends on loop size Best to call detector manufacturer. But normally around 3 turns. The smaller the loop the more turns & v.v.. The type wire best is xlpe. also never bend wires @ 90 degrees, saw cut the corners @ 45.

    Hi Guys, is it possible to use this inductive loop for traffic light?

  • @daviddeprez5630

    Corners cut to far, triangle part will fail damaging the loop. Also must use water to stop dust pollution.

    what will happen if we put two loops in one detector?
    is it ok if i use #14 THHN cable for the loop.

      You can use this kind of detector to set 2 loops:

    There are serious flaws in the way these people cut vehicle loops.
    -On asphalt, the cuts on the cuts on each side should not go at the way to the corner.
    - Just using a scraper is not a proper way to clean a slot, an air blower should be used. The sealant needs a clean surface in which to adhere to.
    - Splicing a loop lead-in is a HUGE and a HUGE no-no.
