Keep picking them off guys. Find them and ban them. The sport is too important for the cheaters to be allowed to stick around.
be careful what you wish for
You realize ALL the top athletes would be gone if that was the case right?
@@lackzoom Then let's see it go right up to the top. I mean that. If we've been seeing nothing but cheats setting the fastest times, you know the ones I'm talking about, let's see the truth exposed. I would be fine with having all of the top athletes who DIDN'T dope be left in the aftermath.
@@lackzoomyou gotta have faith in these world class athletes. It’s so easy to look at these guys and automatically say they’re on steroids and performance enhancing drugs. Innocent until proven guilty. If they are guilty, then the sport is destroyed and you don’t want that. I mean look at cycling. It was so fucking huge back in the day, but everyone was doping and it blew up the sport. Though, cycling is making a comeback, it’s nowhere near as big in the US at least, as it was before. No one wants that. I trust these athletes and hope it’s correctly placed.
@@lackzoomnah... Notice it's not stars that look like Abby Steiner, Matt Boling and Femke ...Keep nabbing them and let the right athletes rise to the top🔥
Thank you for covering this. Eye opening.
The more people get caught, the less likely others will cheat. However, something also needs to be done about legal doping, where athletes file for ridiculous amounts of exemptions.
It is Track and Field. It pays to cheat and the athletes don't care about being shamed if cheating means zero dollars vs $100K dollars. There needs to be heavier fines and competitors should be allowed to sue cheats for prize money as well.
People who do it have already convinced themselves that 'everyone else it doing it' and they have to in order to compete. The penalties aren't severe enough to discourage them.
I hope in any sponsorship contract these athletes sign there is a clause to clawback payments in the event theyre found guilty of illegal substance abuse.
no such thing as legal doping. These guys take a whole bunch of stuff..some wind up with 'side effects" for abuse (healthy hue-man taking 'grey area' to high dosage) and then they get prescribed more enhancers.
@@sharonb537 I expect there's quite bit of pressure from the sponsors to perform at superhuman levels, whether intentional or not. It could make things worse if they get a pay out if their athletes are caught. Plus speaking as a scientist, I doubt these tests are 100% accurate as there's always going to be occasional false positives, so in my opinion longterm bans are the correct balanced approach, since demanding repayments could destroy not just their career but their entire life. However, I don't have any insider info. I'm just an intrested sports fan.
I’d be surprised if anyone was natural.
There are many performance enhancing substances. Strictly speaking, caffeine and many substances found in NSAIDs are performance enhancing substances but they are not listed as PEDs. Supplements can enhance performance as well, companies have been investing a lot in their R&D and supply their products to pro athletes, such as Abbott - Kipchoge. Therefore, whether you are natural or not, anti-doping agencies have the say, they decide which substances should be banned.
I'm natural. 'course I've never won anything. Coffee's OK right?
@@mauriciomontoya-pv9lu In the world of sports, it is…
This explains a lot about the recents times of many athletes.
I think that if there has been a verified combination of doping and also tampering with official records, there should be a lifetime ban. And of course getting the offender's name removed from any records. I specify verified, because of course we must be careful not to accuse people too easily. This is so discouraging!
My head says that Kelvin Kiptum will be next. My heart hopes that he's clean.
Man I don’t think he’s clean dude is 23 and two sub 2:02 hell nah lol
Same here. I noticed his eyes were so red.
No way that dude is clean 😂 But if he somehow is then we’re on pace to see a sub 2 hour world record from him by the end up his career.
Dudes on that Lance Armstrong hope-ium 😂
and faith kipyogen 😭
When athletes that get caught start making up these excuses, such as "I didn't know they were at my door for a test" or "I forgot to give you my new address so you could find me", or "someone snuck something into my food/drink", you know they are Guilty as fluck.
I have asthma and used to be encouraged by the fact that alot of top athletes also have asthma but still managed top performance. I later learned most of them had a doctor give them a false diagnosis to hide drug use
I have been a runner for a long time and a fan of the elite sport for a long time. But by this point, I feel a complete indifference to the professional athletes. I'll keep up with my own training and my middle-of-the-pack race results, and I will trade adventure stories with my running friends, but I don't really care about the elite sport any more. What's the point?
Kenya clearly has a problem atm, just hope & pray Faith Kipyegon & Mary Moraa have zero involvement in any of it!
Or Kelvin Kiptum amongst others.
@@wilhelmw3455Kiptum will be a slam dunk for WADA. Only a matter of time.
EPO stilmulates the production of more red blood cells, thus increasing the oxygen carrying capacity of the individual (same thing happens when you live at altitude). Testosterone does a lot of things, but one of the main things it does it helps significantly reduced muscle recovery post-training. Basically this means that you can train harder and recover better, thus helping you to become really really good. For male distance athletes though this can be problematic, cause this will also cause general muscle growth (think body builders), so most male distance athletes use testosterone sparringly (in small control quantities) to avoid this growth, but still recover. My guess would be that he used to to recover from his very heavy days gaining maximal benefit without overusing it.

Are we going to pretend like steroids are rare in high-level sport? I'd be shocked if half the pro field was even remotely clean.
Steroids are rare - because there are are other substances that are much harder to detect.
id be shocked if anyone making team kenya, usa, jamaica, uk, etc. ISNT doing whatever it takes
@@jkf9167 that's fair, PED's in general then
My cousin (pro cyclist ~20y ago):
"All pro cyclists are on PEDs."
Also my cousin when he got popped:
"I didn't take any, must've been contamination!"
😂
Get em out 🎉
Love the content homie
Another shock indeed. But when you said "one of the greatest" I thought you meant Kipchoge (scared me!). I REALLY really hope that "Kelvin Kiptum" did not dope either....
Kiptum is a lock for doping. Hes young so he'll slip up and get caught. Only a matter of time.
My sentiments exactly 😌
Kelvin Kiptum is 110% doping. Kipchoge is very likely too. You cannot be so much faster than others who are cheating and for so many years, no matter how many shoes Nike produce for you.
They all dope. Let’s be real
Depressing? Makes me feel better about how slow I am.
That Eric Lira "supplier" photo is hilarious.
When found guilty all records of that person should be deleted as you don't know when they started using.
Amen. ALL records should be stripped. Also, every athlete should have to contribute 25 - 30% of their fees into a bonded account subject to forfeiture if they are caught doping.
I mean with all the records we've been seeing drop on the roads and the track, it seems unfortunately that doping is currently prevalent.
Drug cheats hurt the reputation of the countries they represent. Countries should have their own rules and laws to prosecute drug cheats.
Kenya Athletics Federation actively pushes upcoming athletes to dope . It's very well known
Steroids should be made legal. These days you see men competing in women sports, teens being transitioned to girls, etc. and people still think men should not dope! How about men over 40? Doping should be allowed; even more to women who now need to compete against men.
Yup
True
Gotta dope to cope. This is not “sad”. It is the REALITY of competitive sport when money is on the line. Wale up and smell the coffee
Marathon running is imploding, anyway. More and more average runners are seeing the medical studies showing the marathoning/heart disease link and turning to shorter races like halfs, 10Ks, and 5Ks. The top Kenyans being exposed as cheaters is actually refreshing to see because it solidifies how amazing the natural, honest runners' performances are.
I have the feeling all the top elite runners. I really don’t mind if they all do it. Distance running needs a moment like Armstrong doping moment. We saw the top 20-10 cyclists were all doping.
Not sure how corticosteroids would increase performance. Usually they have a lot of toxicities and adverse effects including unhealthy weight gain (adipose tissue), bone/muscle/skin atrophy, etc. Things that would presumably not be beneficial for a professional athlete.
Yeah I feel like it would make recovering from workouts and minor injuries worse too, but there must be some advantage to taking it
What's hilarious is not the odd athlete that gets caught, it's the naive idiots who react with outrage whenever they learn of yet another doping offense.
“Everyone’s on steroids”
-Nate Diaz
aint that the truth
This guys is just playing with words. Good for him.
I think the real reason they don't bring back the 12" MacBook are the economics. Building such a compact design is really hard, meaning really expensive. This is a problem, because people are willing to pay a premium for screen size not compactness. To succeed it would need to be cheaper than the 13" MacBook Air but would cost more to build.
That would likely mean a price point at around $1000, that's right around the price point of an 11" iPad with 256GB storage and a folio. I think they are much more comfortable trying to upsell you on an iPad, e.g. 12.9" iPad with 256GB storage, 5G, an Apple Pencil and a Magic Keyboard would be over $1800.
Kiptum will be next
Maybe not next but its just a matter of time.
The competition could be divided into two groups - those who run with no banned substances and the other a test group of athletes who admit to running with banned substances. In this way we could see how much the banned substances influence the results.
Take any statistics class and you will realize how horribly flawed this study design is
@@seanmcadams1216 Of course, you are accurate in that any study could be further refined. For example, this could be conducted as a double blind study in which the participants and statisticians would not be informed as to whom received the banned substance or a placebo. Only after the results were scored would the two groups be revealed.
So!! We would have only one group!! If you what i mean? Do you think that kipchoge is clean?
@@andremoh On further reflection I believe having two divisions, one free of additives and the other allowed to use them would be a bad idea.
I remember when being a professional athlete was considered evil the way a few steroids are now. However, although it is not evil I think if we are to develop a better species we need to prevent artificial means from being a crutch.
So, we should continue to ban substances for natural improvement purposes.
We should also not allow transgenders to compete against biological females.
@@vernonfrance2974 couldnt have said it better
Its all about prestige and money . Doping will never stop unless life time ban is given or zero substance is found during testing . No leniency should be given to people who use it for medical purposes also until their system is clear .
wow, another elite endurance athelete from kenya caught? shocking
People used to cheat at all levels in the 80s, in those days not just drugs but also lifts, and even someone who did this in London and us still on the record books as a woman under 2hr 45 min.
Lifetime ban of anything related to your sport. That’s it. The governing bodies are as guilty as the cheaters
His eyes are bloodshot red for a reason.
Doping is practically state sponsored in Kenya.
Not again
Lifetime bans are indeed possible, under the WADA anti-doping rules that all IOC affiliated sports are governed by. E.g., Lance Armstrong got a lifetime ban.
Lance is still the best cyclist ever among cycling fans.
Despite their 40+ years domination of the sport this is not looking good on Kenya. Other East African countries need to take notice with their world record holders.
So cheating is pretty much given state approval in Kenya
Always felt that, it's basically an industry, no one's going to turn in a money maker, I would guess something not good would happen to them.
Titus Ekiru-Armstrong
That stock footage tho 🤣
Ped’s are huge in local Strava results.
There's rampant doping use among the best from countries like Kenya and Jamaica. I think we'll know more in the future about who really doped.
Not all illegal PEDs DIRECTLY make you go faster, some are indirect like corticosteroids. Corticosteroids help you recover faster from a workouts meaning you can do more and harder training back-to-back than you could have otherwise and so go faster based on the ability to train more and harder than those not cheating. They also allow you to shed weight more easily as well, important for a marathoner and cyclists as well.
Yeah, people get all up in arms because the substances are banned, and not why the athletes use them. These runners are absolute beasts, it’s not cheating to use recovery aids. No substance makes it easy to run a marathon, that’s still pure grit.
@@claytonmarkin7863 couldn’t be more wrong.. I couldn’t disagree more.. these substances are dangerous and ruin your health when used long term.. it’s wrong to allow them because it essentially forces those who don’t want to use them to use them just to be on a level playing field.
I was just explaining how they work, not arguing for them to be legalized.. they are illegal to use unless you have a true medical need.. they are illegal and imho need to remain that way!
@@claytonmarkin7863it's very easy for these people to run a marathon. Maybe not at 2:02 pace every day...
Regardless, it still has performance enhancing properties. Some people are talented but are not willing to settle for 8th place.
@@butterygold Absolutely performance enhancing.. just explaining how!
Wow very sad as I’ve run over 300 marathons and ultras. I’ve never found the time to cheat. I love the sport of running and walking and respect it way to much to cheat.

@@durianriders maybe next time he feels the need for a 'performance enhancing' nescafe or a paraceatomol he should double check if it's ok with WADA first, oh dear, bad news for your misinformation, they are acceptable
Kenyans and Ethiopians are all doped since the early ‘90s.
How did you come to utter this statement? It reveals a deep ignorance about how the AIU regulations work and the (lack) of legal principles at work with respect to the policing of athletes. For them, there is no presumption of innocence, nor is there some monolithic "justice system", nor do AIU's allegations of tampering amount to established facts. => "Now it is very important to assume innocence before guilt and this is actually a big part of the entire justice system but the issue is the World Athletics Integrity Unit has already dug super deep into what Titus Ekiru has been doing for the previous few years and the issues cut way deeper than just a positive test."
I think it's very important to understand the complexity behind the problem of PED's. So in most non team team sports especially athletics PED use is very and I mean very common from a young age. We all accept it for biking, we all accept that for Olympic weightlifting for example. It's time to accept that for running and long distance running too. The sport of long distance running especially is very susceptible to a performance increase induced by PED's. That's just in the nature of the sport and the challenges it provides to the human body. So most likely an overwhelming percentage (talking definitely over 80 percent) of professional long distance runners are taking PED's. That is just the sad reality of professional athletics. And the organisers also most likely know about it and test a lot of runners positive for PED's all the time. But it could be just like in other sports that there are a lot of different interests causing them not to Pop more athletes. Like nobody wants to test Kipchoge positive because it would be such a devastating loss to the popularity of the Sport. Positive tests can also be used to manipulate outcomes. "Better don't win otherwise we gonna release the positive test". Even tho all the other runners also use PED's. All of this is not speculation but proven to be happening in the world of athletics. I think all of us should be very careful to condemn athletes for taking PED's to quick and also be very careful with the organisations that organise professional sports and maybe don't see them as saints as well. It's just a complex and multi-layered problem.
This is not just true in pure athletic sports but also in compound movement sports and team sports. A lot of the top athletes in every sport around the world are on PEDs but are protected by officials and the system which rely on them for profits.
If you don't dope you won't cope. ..at the elite level.
This is more likely a case of limited access to the state of the art PED’s other athletes are using. To insinuate this guy is a long wolf, is ridiculous. He obviously needs to be on the Bobby Kersee enhanced training program so these flush out of his system more quickly.
While I do believe that elite sport is unavoidably filled with unnatural athletes, the drug that Titus Ekiru apparently was busted for, triamcinolone, is a corticosteroid, not an anabolic steroid. It does not have any known performance enhancing effects as such.
man you are naive lol.
Triamcinolone aka KENACORT-A 40 makes you feel like SUPERMAN!!
That is why it is part of the BIG 4 - adderall, EPO, testosterone/nandrolone and triamcinolone,
Adderall etc for focus and breathing.
EPO for red blood cell boost aka more vo2max.
Anabolics in low dosage to help with bone density/mood/glycogen partitioning.
Kenacort to FEEL LIKE SUPER MAN!!
They’re all doping at that level
They feel the need to because there is a need to, literally how do you compete if you’re the only one not on something.
That’s like saying bodybuilders feel the need to take steroids… which is 100 percent accurate cause they’d never beat guys on steroids staying natural.
People greatly overestimate the performance improvements steroids yield.
I don't think any of us can say for sure that we wouldn't do this if our livelyhood was on the line. The thing I don't get is the guys who dope for things like the Seattle to Portland bike ride.
all those Kenia postmen..
Ban? They should be wiping his records from the books.
Any and every doping ban should be lifelong. No exceptions.
This makes the honest runners look like they’re doping too especially the record breakers.
They probably are let's be honest here.
That's because they are.
Some people with a trained eye can look at some of these sprinter females and ask how is it not obvious that steroids are in use?.
2:15 source?
Gee ......who wdve thunk it!
Isn't it potential prison time for falsifying official documents?
The stock images and video clips are kinda cringe
It's amazing that clean athletes like Kipchoge can outperform illegal drug users. It's almost unbelievable.
Genetics is still the biggest factor. I couldn’t have run a 4 minute mile in my prime no matter how good the drugs you give me are.
You think Kipchoge is clean?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh Kenya … what a shock. Not …
Here's the thing though: MOST (not some) elite athletes are doping. It's VERY easy to avoid being detected, if you know what you're doing. That's just the reality.
I believe they all are using enhancements.
Next is Kiptum 😂
I can’t believe you are surprised lol
Do runners get tested as frequently as professional cyclists? Do they have a blood passport? Top cyclists are getting test tens of times a year, at races, at home, unannounced, etc. If in running they only test occasionally (like in cycling before), then probably the problem is much bigger than what it appears to be when you judge on number of people getting caught.
They’re ALL doping. Wake up. Every last
The Kenyans are really not great at catching or wanting to catch these cheaters in their system...
Oh wow. Who would of thought it? There is no history of athletes from Keyna doping. 🙄
Kipchoge is next
Well, yeah, I tend to agree.....lifetime ban......although, I think they should be allowed to compete if they wish, they simply won't be considered placing in the race.....or received prize money....which I suppose might be the same thing as a lifetime ban......anyway, nice to see there is some kind of monitoring of this stuff, but it does make one wonder whether we are in a Lance Armstrong kind of era in which ALL the athletes feel the need to cheat because they feel ALL the athletes are cheating.......and aren't getting caught.....
Sadly, I suspect the number is much higher than 90% of all the athletes :(
Another 2:03 runner banned
Come on guys. It's not that hard to run a marathon in 2 hours. You don't need drugs for that.

Ehh I doubt they are all cheating but its definitely more prevalent than most people think.
Apparently not.
Every one is doing this only some get caught 🙌
I think in kenya we will come up with a law whereby we will jail you if found guilty
Genuine question, why do we assume elite runners like Eliud Kipchoge and Jacob Indebrigston aren’t doping?? Are they really so good that they are better than elite runners that ARE doping? I always assumed every single one of the top 1% are on juice..
They just train harder mate. Nike athletes dont use gear. They just have access to better shoes.
