Innocent until proven guilty. If they are guilty, then the sport is destroyed and you don’t want that. I mean look at cycling. The more people get caught, the less likely others will cheat. However, something also needs to be done about legal doping, where athletes file for ridiculous amounts of exemptions.

      It is Track and Field. It pays to cheat and the athletes don't care about being shamed if cheating means zero dollars vs $100K dollars. There needs to be heavier fines and competitors should be allowed to sue cheats for prize money as well.

      no such thing as legal doping. These guys take a whole bunch of stuff..some wind up with 'side effects" for abuse (healthy hue-man taking 'grey area' to high dosage) and then they get prescribed more enhancers.

    • @stuarthys9879
      @stuarthys9879 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@sharonb537 I expect there's quite bit of pressure from the sponsors to perform at superhuman levels, whether intentional or not. It could make things worse if they get a pay out if their athletes are caught. Plus speaking as a scientist, I doubt these tests are 100% accurate as there's always going to be occasional false positives, so in my opinion longterm bans are the correct balanced approach, since demanding repayments could destroy not just their career but their entire life. However, I don't have any insider info. I'm just an intrested sports fan.

      There are many performance enhancing substances. Strictly speaking, caffeine and many substances found in NSAIDs are performance enhancing substances but they are not listed as PEDs. Supplements can enhance performance as well, companies have been investing a lot in their R&D and supply their products to pro athletes, such as Abbott - Kipchoge. Therefore, whether you are natural or not, anti-doping agencies have the say, they decide which substances should be banned.

    EPO stilmulates the production of more red blood cells, thus increasing the oxygen carrying capacity of the individual (same thing happens when you live at altitude). Testosterone does a lot of things, but one of the main things it does it helps significantly reduced muscle recovery post-training. Basically this means that you can train harder and recover better, thus helping you to become really really good. For male distance athletes though this can be problematic, cause this will also cause general muscle growth (think body builders), so most male distance athletes use testosterone sparringly (in small control quantities) to avoid this growth, but still recover. My guess would be that he used to to recover from his very heavy days gaining maximal benefit without overusing it.

    I think the real reason they don't bring back the 12" MacBook are the economics. Building such a compact design is really hard, meaning really expensive. This is a problem, because people are willing to pay a premium for screen size not compactness. To succeed it would need to be cheaper than the 13" MacBook Air but would cost more to build.
    That would likely mean a price point at around $1000, that's right around the price point of an 11" iPad with 256GB storage and a folio. I think it's very important to understand the complexity behind the problem of PED's. So in most non team team sports especially athletics PED use is very and I mean very common from a young age. We all accept it for biking, we all accept that for Olympic weightlifting for example. It's time to accept that for running and long distance running too. The sport of long distance running especially is very susceptible to a performance increase induced by PED's. That's just in the nature of the sport and the challenges it provides to the human body. So most likely an overwhelming percentage (talking definitely over 80 percent) of professional long distance runners are taking PED's. That is just the sad reality of professional athletics. And the organisers also most likely know about it and test a lot of runners positive for PED's all the time. But it could be just like in other sports that there are a lot of different interests causing them not to Pop more athletes. Like nobody wants to test Kipchoge positive because it would be such a devastating loss to the popularity of the Sport. Positive tests can also be used to manipulate outcomes. "Better don't win otherwise we gonna release the positive test". Even tho all the other runners also use PED's. All of this is not speculation but proven to be happening in the world of athletics. I think all of us should be very careful to condemn athletes for taking PED's to quick and also be very careful with the organisations that organise professional sports and maybe don't see them as saints as well. It's just a complex and multi-layered problem.

      @mrevilducky 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is not just true in pure athletic sports but also in compound movement sports and team sports. A lot of the top athletes in every sport around the world are on PEDs but are protected by officials and the system which rely on them for profits.

    This is more likely a case of limited access to the state of the art PED’s other athletes are using. To insinuate this guy is a long wolf, is ridiculous. He obviously needs to be on the Bobby Kersee enhanced training program so these flush out of his system more quickly.

    While I do believe that elite sport is unavoidably filled with unnatural athletes, the drug that Titus Ekiru apparently was busted for, triamcinolone, is a corticosteroid, not an anabolic steroid. It does not have any known performance enhancing effects as such.

      Triamcinolone aka KENACORT-A 40 makes you feel like SUPERMAN!!
      That is why it is part of the BIG 4 - adderall, EPO, testosterone/nandrolone and triamcinolone,
      Adderall etc for focus and breathing.
      EPO for red blood cell boost aka more vo2max.
      Anabolics in low dosage to help with bone density/mood/glycogen partitioning.

Top cyclists are getting test tens of times a year, at races, at home, unannounced, etc. If in running they only test occasionally (like in cycling before), then probably the problem is much bigger than what it appears to be when you judge on number of people getting caught.

    (WARNING short rant ! )-I abhor the thought of young promising young people passing away way WAY before their time😔! ..... 😉 The playing field for the last 25yr ...its pretty crazy..😗😳 to think that officially or un-officialy 😏...young people, men women including (LBGT-XYZ) all over the word ARE NOT prescribing to themselves or having some "team coach" prescribe to them "something" that can give them an "edge" with the gamble that😐.... you man live a shorter life span but the life you will have will be😁 "great" ! " With the thought that if John OR Mary is taking 5 of "what ever" and its working for them, then 10 HAS to be better for me!" Everyone wants the "edge" ..... TO BE SURE... but it sure seems like....( for the last 15 yrs or so ) these young athletes and people today are also getting "scammed" that successes in life is found in bottle or pill the "proverbial quick fix" except today the quick fix is Ex-stream and in too many cases, so are the risks 😔..🙄, sports, like politics suffer through deceptions , but individual human being suffer more, when for just a Title or two, or a "bag of money" they may not be able to hold their grand children (in good conscious), or tell them a "life lesson" that keeps THEM or gets THEM on a steady path, when the bumps of life happen. And that possibly, these life lessons would not be learned through anyone else.... are the real risks of "enhancements' in sports, social status, (essentially lies to win), such as even in America politics "Transparent" to all 😳? , not just the risk of being "Caught." but the consequences to individuals, organizations and even countries, when these lies are promoted at the expense of of future health and well being . 🙏💖✌😔
