This is absolutely beautiful. It’s amazing that as I’m listening to her beautiful Hylian melodies I can picture every single castle, dungeon, fairy cave, cemetery, domain and boss battle. It really has taken me back all those years to being a little boy sitting on my living room floor with my dad. Early memories of my hero teaching me how to play Zelda. Thank you for the wonderful nostalgia trip. Thank you for helping to bring back those cherished memories. It means a lot more than you can imagine. Thank you.
When I was younger I bought an N64 just to play Ocarina of Time (I was a Playstation kid). Then something weird happened... when I got to the underwater temple, I got up to use the bathroom and had trouble walking - like I had the iron boots on in real life! It freaked me out so much I never played the game again. I love this song though, what a great rendition!
This interpretation bring me both tears and smile. It's a truly beautiful interpretation, and the nostalgia is strong with this one. My absolute favorite theme.
Thank you Jake! It spices it up a bit, it can be fairly dull unless you're totally immersed in the game hahaha. That was one of my favorite parts in the whole game though!
Whaaa?! Again, you crush it. I shared this one with hubs as it's his favorite. Like you, we were the kids playing this game for 24 hrs straight when it came out. Nostalgia and talent! Bravo, per usual Kara.
I came to your channel because of your FF covers, but this was also my favorite theme for OOT, thanks, such a beautiful version! You're bringing me back lot of memories!!
I do absolutely LOVE this arrangement. I keep coming back to this video. Kyle has done some solid work on this one! And of course you play it to perfection as per the usual!
It's a beautiful feeling being able to play those songs that made us fall in love with music and sharing them with others. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
Wow this was such a beautiful arrangement and magnificent performance! I feel so lucky just to have heard this! Well played well played well played! =) Gosh, Zelda is just one of those games that I've played but never gotten round to finishing in its entirety... I really owe it to myself to buy Ocarina of Time for my 3DS while I still can. Look forward to some more Zelda tunes :D
Thank you! Zelda seems like such a thing of the past for me, I haven't played it in so many years. But the themes never seem to go away, I still know all of them by heart (well, not on the piano but in my mind LOL). You'll LOVE Ocarina of Time, go get it soon!!
aaahhh. I want him to release the sheet music for his OoT medley, that version of fairy fountain & gerudo valley are amazing. this version is beautiful too! Kara, you are a legend!!!!!!
Oh I didn't know there was an arrangement for Fairy Fountain! I'm just getting started with Zelda but I'd like to shell out a few more arrangements in the near future :)
Kara, I discovered your channel from the final fantasy 7 pieces you have done, however, I think this is your best work. This arrangement captures the full essence of gerudo valley and you performed it perfectly. I only wish I could like it every time I come back to listen because it is so perfect. Thank you for capturing this piece of game history as well as so many others, so perfectly
* applause * This truly is beautiful. I'm an avid fan of the Legend of Zelda series, and it is amazing to hear a cover as magnificent as yours. I shall admit, I have only made it to dungeon two in OoT, but I'm currently working on it. Keep up the phenomenal playing. :D EDIT: Thank you so much for the heart. :)
I've come across you twice today through watching Kyle Landry and Laura Intravia videos. You are officially to piano, what Nigella Lawson is to food. The piano Nigella.
I don't know how words can do justice to what I want to say but it is just so insanely good! I love everything kyle does and I love everything you play and this mix is just ssooooo good! please never stop playing the piano and never stop uploading new videos! lots of love from Europe
Aw that's sweet, thank you! I think Kyle has a "bigger" flair when he plays, but his arrangements sound good no matter what playing style the pianist takes. I appreciate your words :)
You're a phenom you the keys. I'm not a stalker but I watched a lot of videos. I was like wwwwwhat she smiles!! Without reading your comments I can tell Zelda was one of your favs by the way you went in on the keys. You had fun with this one. Great job, keep it up like Viagra!
You are so frequently amazing you exhaust the entire English dictionary of words of praise XD That performance was just perfect, it had everything the ears could want...slow and gentle, faster, dramatic, even playful--you hit all the targets with this one! I award 2000 points XD
Thank you Chad LOL you're awesome XD Now I'm your inspiration to keep practicing your piano. You'll get here someday, just keep at it :D and yay, 2000 points, what am i up to now?! :D
I hope to do more too! Actually my brother is learning a really amazing "virtuoso" medley of Zelda tunes that I want to play. Let's see if I can get him to give me the sheets ;)
well as long as you keep uploading them I will continue to watch them.I really hope he lets you use those sheets I think that would be pretty awesome :)
Whoa! vaya que sientes la música! Tienes mucho talento! Gracias por tan buen Cover whoa! You feel music! You got so much talent! Thank You for this good cover
Jesus what an eargasm!! I do not have the technical knowledge to understand how complex your technique is, but beauty and natural flow run through these notes, and your speed and flexibility and gracefulness with those magical fingers..!! It is astonishing!! :O You are my new favourite artist filling in the time slot of my workday hours with relaxing music..!! I wish you could teach me piano so I could develop skills like that!!
At 3m13s! I'd need three hands, each with six, not five fingers, in order to do that, and probably at half the speed at most..!!! And a hundred years of piano and ninja training simultaneously :O
I could sit down any day and play through Chrono Trigger. Actually I just downloaded an emulator to my computer, I should give it a shot again sometime! I didn't really enjoy the smartphone version of it as much.
Yeah, nothing compares to the original in my opinion. No need to change anything about it. I am still sad they didnt include it in the SNES classic line up. I could sit down and play it all the way through at any time as well. You should definitely play it on your emulator though! SNES emulators are really awesome.
I was hoping they would release an expansion pack for the SNESC. Would be nice to have some of the more popular niche titles on there, just for the sake of longevity and the fact that people charge $80 a game.
I've just realized that I didn't put a thumbs up to that video despite seeing/listening to it a few time. I guess it's better later than never. It's well deserved.
The only piece which I think can match this one imo is the Ori and the blind forest medley. You've inspired me to learn this one immediately after I get that one down.
At first I wasn't feeling this arrangement, but then the main part hit, and it did not slow down. Love it. For me, I glitched out the last big Poe, and couldn't receive the 4th bottle lol
Well i like your obsession to piano, I can't believe it you nail one winged angel perfectly yet on that one you had some "wrong move" barely audible but still I notice, and you stayed focus amazing (around 2minutes) I mean im putting myself in your shoes when it happened you must've been angry at yourself a bit xD I know I would You are an amazing pianiste with beautiful pianiste hands honestly i'm glad i discovered you on youtube :P Thanks a lot for the one winged angel been years since im looking for a piano only version of the song that sonds right !! You're the best i ever heard ! Give me shivers all over listening to you playing :P
I probably shouldn't tell you how many takes it took me before I got the recording I did on one winged angel. XD I don't know what made that one so hard for me. It could've also been the day and time I was recording. I may have been stressed or something like that. I'd love to give it another shot at some point in the future :) Gerudo Valley was WAY easier than that one!! hahhaha
I know right !! that's exactly how I felt ... because you stayed focus all the time during the entire song so yeah I got suspicious it must've been another factor ahah... And also I know about one winged angel ahah doing all the parts seperated is already something so I can imagine how hard it is doing everything at once, it's a very technical and particular song with lots of uncommon tones ... no wonder Nobuo Uematsu is among my favorite musical artist ever ahah
The Problem with great games is the sheer abundance of them. And even more are released every week! I finished Celeste in November, Forgotton Anne in early December, the behemoth (and musical masterpiece) Octopath Traveler after over 100 hours last week and am now in the middle of my (I guess) 87th re-run of Ocarina of Time and currently freeing the carpenters from the Gerudo Fortress. The Problem with great music is basically the same: There is just way too much of it, to grasp and savor it all at once or at least within a reasonable amount of time. When I grew up, I had to listen to Beethoven (5th and 6th symphony) and Mozart (39th, 40th and 41st symphony) on a crappy cassette tape on a dusty player on a loud tractor and it still was amazing. Today, the same recording still stirs my mind and I am sixteen again, bringing water to the cattle on the pasture. Combining both things, great video games and great music, leads to a vast variety of great composers and also legendary ones: Kondo, Totaka, Hülsbeck (I had to include him, since I am from Germany), Uematsu, Shimomura, Tallarico. And here as well the numbers are increasing, as Nishiki proved in my latest conquest Octopath Traveler. And yet, I always find myself coming back to the sounds of my youth and adolescence: Mozart and Beethoven on the tractor, Tallarico from Earthworm Jim and Kondo from OoT. But, and this is the whole point of my ramblings: As in classical music, in video game music, the composer is only a small part of the experience. The arranger and also the player gives every piece a new, a different, a fresh, or a completely opposite touch. You, Kara, are doing an amazing job taking pieces from rather old games, take arrangements from talented writers and add a kind of feeling, that brings back not only the old memories, but also brings out new and/or forgotten feelings. So all of you out there, who like and play and listen to video game music: It is not inferior to any other music (like my aunt always tells me), nor does it differ in any way from classical compositions. Do whatever you like, do however you like to do it, and please do not let any teacher, instructor or so-called expert tell you anything else! I lost my passion in making music long ago, among other things, due to those people. And since listening to music is the only thing left, it is up to you to keep it coming. ;-) Thank you! Thank you to all musicians out there writing, arranging and performing great music, and thank you Kara in particular for the (I have to guess again, and may have watched one or the other twice) of your 23.123 videos I have wathed in the last week. Keep it up!
What a beautiful comment! Totally agree with you but man... you have to make music again! The passion must be still here ! You just gotta search a little deeper. You can’t let those people take that from you !
You are definitely right, one cannot argue with that. Or how Uematsu put it in "Melodies of Life": Melodies of life, Come circle round and grow deep in our hearts, As long as we remember And I am sure that I will come back to making music. Someday. Not tomorrow, not next week, there are some things I have to sort out first, but I definitely will! Until then, listening sure does help a lot.
Happy birthday to me last year! :p This is awesome! I don't even remember now how or why your channel came up on my recommended list, I think it was because I was listening to a piano cover of "For River" from To The Moon, and one of your covers showed up on the side among the recommendations, but I'm so thankful. Your playing is so beautiful. BTW You have to play that game and it's sequel Finding Paradise, just keep a box of tissues nearby; you'll cry your eyes out whether your a girly girl or the most stoic man who walk the Earth. The piano soundtrack and the story are both just so beautiful and touching, I still get a tear in my eye listening to For River.
Wow I think it's cool I showed up on recommended videos even though you weren't searching Zelda! :D Thank you for spending the time to watch and comment!!
To be honest, by the end of my time scouring through all your uploads, liking, commenting, and even following you on facebook, I was starting to feel like a real creeper, but really I just love this type of music, and was so happy, I didn't want to keep my thoughts to myself. It's a relief to see you responding so positively! th-cam.com/video/vgbdICKtZbc/w-d-xo.html Watch this video! I think you'll really get a kick out of it. A woman is playing the "For River" song I was talking about in my first comment on a public piano. Also read the comments. The reactions from people can give you a good idea of why I recommend you play that game ASAP! Also the critiques they give her will probably make you laugh. (Hint, "too fast!") Also, this was the video where I saw yours recommended to me. :)
Wow very good job again! I wasn't expecting an upload so fast. You play all different genres so well. One day I will be as good I hope! Plz more of TLOZ:). Regards
Now I'm taking WAY too long to get another cover in hahahha I had no inspiration for awhile. I'm working on Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger but it's hard and needs to be memorized, which I hate doing XD but I'm recording this week and hope to get something out for you by the weekend! A good one too :) I think I'll do some more Zelda soon too!
Kara Comparetto Wow great! Don't feel pushed, we are all busy haha. My last cover was last year so take your time. It's the quality that counts, not the quantity. I'm not that familiar with Chrone Trigger, but I might play it some time in the future because I heard it's a great game. When your cover comes online I will certainly listen to it:). Good luck learning
My daughter is learning piano and I show you her videos to inspire her. She keeps saying how she'd someday like to play like you.
How is she getting on? 3 years later.
This is like some fine wine right here
It's as if Kara was in desert playing piano :)
This is absolutely beautiful. It’s amazing that as I’m listening to her beautiful Hylian melodies I can picture every single castle, dungeon, fairy cave, cemetery, domain and boss battle. Wow. I'm really like how you added your own unique style to this fun song. Beautifully played.
Man I wished it would let me hit like 100 times!!!!!! One of the best songs in video game history. She is awesome!!!
How is this not more popular??? By far the best game to piano I have ever seen!
This is the best Zelda tune. And I love how you translated it.
Wow. The mood captured in the intro. I really like where you took this. 😊
This interpretation bring me both tears and smile. It's a truly beautiful interpretation, and the nostalgia is strong with this one. My absolute favorite theme.
A unique arrangement for this tune, love it!
Thank you Jake! It spices it up a bit, it can be fairly dull unless you're totally immersed in the game hahaha. That was one of my favorite parts in the whole game though!
Kara Comparetto could you do a tutorial how to play gerudo valley in this arrangement.
Whaaa?! Again, you crush it. I shared this one with hubs as it's his favorite. Like you, we were the kids playing this game for 24 hrs straight when it came out. Nostalgia and talent! Bravo, per usual Kara.
Oh that’s awesome!! Thank you so much! ❤️
Gerudo Valley sounds awesome on the piano. Great upload and thanks for the share. You are very talented.
Thank you very much Rory, I appreciate so many comments, you guys are the best!
Another favourite of mine, oot my all time favourite! Thanks great cover!
Beautiful! And the arrangement as well! 😋
My shepherd laid down to listen as he does when I play! Sign of approval. Lol Bravo!
Aww so sweet!!!
every..single arrangement... is a masterpiece. it captures the emotions so well
I came to your channel because of your FF covers, but this was also my favorite theme for OOT, thanks, such a beautiful version! You're bringing me back lot of memories!!
Thank you Desmond, I don't know how I missed your comment but I appreciate it nonetheless!!
Wow just wow, i dont have any words that would do this justice.......wow Kara
I do absolutely LOVE this arrangement. I keep coming back to this video. Kyle has done some solid work on this one! And of course you play it to perfection as per the usual!
You started it off amazing love piano players keep up the good work

Kara, this is my very favorite of your recordings.
It's a beautiful feeling being able to play those songs that made us fall in love with music and sharing them with others. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
I am so into this crossover where Kara plays Kyle. I am a huge fan of you both.
i was impressed too 😮😮
I love putting on your channel as background music for Endless Legend. Perfection.
Happy 20th anniversary of Zelda 64! And thank you for this lovely rendition of my favorite Zelda 64 song!
So glad i discovered your videos. Love the way you play classic game tunes. They stay true to the original while adding more to the song.

Gosh, Zelda is just one of those games that I've played but never gotten round to finishing in its entirety... I really owe it to myself to buy Ocarina of Time for my 3DS while I still can.

EDIT: Thank you so much for the heart. :)
So beautiful! So much feeling ...
Not going to lie... This rendition made shed a tear.
I've come across you twice today through watching Kyle Landry and Laura Intravia videos. You are officially to piano, what Nigella Lawson is to food. The piano Nigella.
This gave me some serious goosebumps. Keep it up!
Thank you Theo, and I certainly will!! :D
This right here earned you a new sub. Thank you. Look forward to all your current and new videos.
Thank you!!!
Fantastic, i lovin the song!!!!!
The section between 02:01 and 02:13 was perfect ! This version doesn't match the video game version, but its a great custom arrangement ! Loved it !
Perfection!.. I like the emotions in the beginning ..best of luck!
Thank you so much!!!
Sounds amazing! I tried my hand at a stride bass cover of this not long ago. It's an absolute joy to play. ☺
Zelda was a huuuuuge childhood favorite of mine!! :D
I'm pretty sure you have just about every point ever now XD well, every point ever minus 1 for that last Skulltula ahahahahahahaha :p
hey now, it's not funny! it was a very traumatic moment in my life LOL
i love this game as well. I hope you will do more zelda covers. But this was great as always.
I never played Ocarina of Time, this fantastic piece of music makes me regret that!
This is as beautiful as you are !!!😍
So Beautiful Song , Pianist and a cover ❤️

Aww sure :) Some of the compositions you cover are melodies that marked my life, so that is why your music gets to me so strongly :)
I already liked this video but then I read how highly you rated Chrono Trigger and decided I like you
I could sit down any day and play through Chrono Trigger. Actually I just downloaded an emulator to my computer, I should give it a shot again sometime! I didn't really enjoy the smartphone version of it as much.

I'd love to get to that too! My brother has been playing a great Zelda arrangement. I need to get my hands on it soon!
Subscribed, beautiful covers. Bringing my childhood soundtrack to life! :')
I've just realized that I didn't put a thumbs up to that video despite seeing/listening to it a few time. I guess it's better later than never. It's well deserved.

Oh mannn I feel bad for you!!
No need for that, eventually I adopted the motto, "If I need to use a bottle, I'm doing it wrong." Three bottles is more than enough :D
Wow simply amazing !
Thank you!!! :D

I wish I could see who the 13 people are that disliked this video so I could give them a talking to. Very well done! Keep up the great work!
awesome :D i cant imagine reaching that level 🙈
beautiful🎹🎵🎶
I love this theme 💙💙💙
Thank you!! So do I :)
Fantastic
Really glad I just found this channel, you have a new subscriber!
YAY!!
Happy birthday to me last year! :p This is awesome!

Watch this video! I think you'll really get a kick out of it. A woman is playing the "For River" song I was talking about in my first comment on a public piano. Also read the comments. The reactions from people can give you a good idea of why I recommend you play that game ASAP! Also the critiques they give her will probably make you laugh. (Hint, "too fast!")
Also, this was the video where I saw yours recommended to me. :)
You put a half of your heart in this song. Life with a half of heart will be hard :).
Nice dynamics i like it!
I used to play games hard but never completed 99.9% of any title, kind of achievement :D
I had no idea you liked games lol! That was when you had way less going on in your life XD I miss those carefree days too. Thank you Martin!!
Kara, you are amazing, i just wish more musicians cared about music (like you) THAN money, the music industry would be in a way better place
Austin Kosobuski I agree 😭😭
Can see in your expression that you were having a blast :)
It was awesome!! (Teach me lol!!)
YES this one is so much fun!! I wish I could teach all you that want to learn hahahahhahahha I need superhuman powers >:(
Haha it is the thought that count 😂😄
Wow very good job again! I wasn't expecting an upload so fast. You play all different genres so well. One day I will be as good I hope! Plz more of TLOZ:). Regards
Now I'm taking WAY too long to get another cover in hahahha I had no inspiration for awhile. I'm working on Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger but it's hard and needs to be memorized, which I hate doing XD but I'm recording this week and hope to get something out for you by the weekend! A good one too :)
I think I'll do some more Zelda soon too!
