Note for Everyone, in case your clock is stuck or it doesn't start after following the vid step by step, go to the redstone comparator that is placed on top of the observer near the daylight sensor and right click/activate it and it will start the clock. Took me too long to figure this out as i thought this entire time i messed up the redstone circuit.
This is excellent! I saw your original clock video months ago and then recently I needed a clock for a build and could not find your video again. Other designs didn't do what I wanted so I designed my own. As soon as I was done, this video shows up in my suggestions. Real elegant solution to the hopper clock being synced up on a day reset. I think I'll end up using your design over my own.
Very well made ADD friendly tutorial! If you're playing on switch and don't know, "press shift" is "crouch button" on the console. I also got confused by a circuit not working at 7:50 ... Nvm.. it was night time....
Man, huge respect to you for coming up with something like that and doing a really well made tutorial. And now a brand new clock tower is standing in my survival world :)
W build. The repeater left of the moving observer changes from 1 tick to 3, which goes unmentioned but keeps the build functioning. if it stays on 1 tick, anytime the clock hand is diagonal, it also pushes out the 3oclock hand at the same time. putting that repeater to 3 ticks fixes it
This is even better than the redstone lamp clock I was planning to build! I think I'll be making some design changes to my spawn tower to accommodate this clock. Thanks for posting this tutorial!
This is a really good circuit, and far beyond my redstone capability! My only criticism is how far back the circuit goes, making it very difficult to have a clock face on each side of a proportioned tower (like the real big ben), If you every release a V3, moving the clock mechanism either up or down with a output that could be linked to multiple faces would be exquisite! Thank you for this one however as it is 90% of exactly what I've been looking for!
I want to thank you so much, I personally suck at redstone and your tutorial was so easy to follow and it made sense to even a noob like me, your clock helped me add some extra oompf to a build I've been working on for months and I'm so grateful to you. Best of luck, health, wishes, once more I thank you!
Hey man i love this, i put it in my survival world, and it works great. Switched the pistons in simple redstonelights. Now I can see the time from far away. Before, it was difficult to see the blocks pushed by the pistons.
@@Snap2it. I try´d it in redstoneversion when i klick the sensor it goes thru the hole times but stays at one point its that the issue with bedrock version ?
It’d be nice if you can make it so the hand are pulled in like with the old version, it just makes the time much more clear and visible from away. But nice creation regardless!
The sticky piston under the note block is powered by the observers that face the hopper clocks. There's two blocks that get alternatively moved into position above those observers so that only one of them can power the note block at a given time. Just check that everything in that region matches the video. Sometimes redoing a section is the easiest way to find an issue. You could also hop into my discord server where you can post pictures :)
Hey great vid, but now that i have the working cloock all I need now is a clock twoer to place it in and i absolutely love the example one put in the thumbnail, if you have a tutorial for that one i would love to see it.
This version has outward blocks for hands whereas the old version has inward blocks for hands... I think visually the old version is easier to read, could you make a variation of this compact design where the hands are inward?
Yeah, I agree the older design was easier to read. Keeping the hand "out" helps to keep the redstone more compact and simple. I'm sure you could modify this one to make the hands indented, but it's not something I plan on doing.
Has anyone else tried to build this in an older version? I tried, keeping the logical function of the observers the same, replacing target blocks with trapped chests, but to no avail, I had to give the clock loop a signal and the hands just stay still.
I now feel like mine isn't very good I made one like the clock item half of the clock is for day and the other for night and it shows how much day/night there is, and it works by the light detectors, and it works on all sides
So I'm in java 1.19 and for some reason only one side of the hopper clock is working even at night. Any idea why? I followed the video multiple times to make sure I did everything right but still keeps doing the same thing.
Excellent work! I do only have one question: Could you (or somebody else) please tell me if it is possible or how it is possible to make the clock go in four different positions (like a real clock) how to connect those up if you have limited space?
I think I could pretty much use a lot of your Redstone and Bedrock I would probably have to change where the power actually went to the Pistons because we don't have quasi connectivity and figure out what other quasi connectivity or using and try to hard power it somehow it definitely won't be as compact but I think a good portion of your Redstone will work
I have an issue, the clock hands are constantly moving but also read a comment saying that activating the comparator on top of the observer would help but it doesnt seem to be in-sync with the in-game clock
I followed all the steps on my Xbox, but sadly it didn’t work as you mentioned in the end of the video yeah and the clock clock sticky page. It only pushed the it only pushed. It only pushed about a couple cord blocks, and that didn’t work clock face is pointing to 9 AM.
One question please answer can you make a world for bedrock edition for the clock tower build with the redstone I downloaded your world but it doesn’t support bedrock, I really appreciate it if you make one

So uhh would this not work in the end because I’m building a village out there and I just wanted something cool to know when they wake up. Could I just get rid of the daylight sensor and it’ll just keep running and then just manually reset it if needed
It won't work in the end. You could get rid of the daylight sensor and do something with the redstone to reset it manually, but that kind of defeats the point. You'll be resetting it a lot.
Did you sleep? The clock will start when it detects a player has slept. Otherwise, my only advice is to watch the video again for mistakes or check the world download.
Can't get it to work consistently. The repeaters that are directly going into the sticky pistons are generally always in a locked state. Should I flip it over so it's not the case? Can I get the world download so I can compare/contrast? Can't wait to get it working!
