I Proved Redstone Wasn't Hard In Minecraft Hardcore

- In this episode of Minecraft Hardcore, I continue building on my Hardcore Skill Tree by learning how Redstone works and finding that it's not as hard as I thought! Maybe Mumbo Jumbo was right in that Redstone is actually "super simple".
If you're also wondering, this video is also a bit inspired by Kolaani's "I Built The Most Over The Top Beacon In Minecraft Hardcore" video, just thought I'd give that small bit of credit as well :)

Edit (30/12): In case anyone is still watching these, I apologize but there won't be a 4th episode, this series will be discontinued. Playing Hardcore has been really mentally taxing and I simply just wasn't having fun with it anymore. But it isn't completely going away however, all the ideas I had for this series will get their own individual videos, so you can look forward to those. :)
I've hope you all enjoyed this one, it's a bit different than the usual hardcore vids, since it's entirely focused on Redstone and it's more educational, but I hope it's still fun to watch nonetheless :)

Also, aria math pog.
when you get back into the nether get the warped fungi because those hogs are afraid of the green mushroom stuff
i think i have a thory to why mining fatuig is a spoon. i thing its a reference to how people joke about digging a hole with spoons to get out of prisen
9:41 My life is immeasurable, and my day is ruined
@@a-lambo-boi true! there's no way that Sweden is more nostalgic that Aria Math!
Next time you fall into lava: dive down and tower up, regenerate, plan next steps (probably bridge)
... Yeah that would be much better than swimming through it, thanks for the tip!
@@XayXayYT that part made for a great video though… Very cinematic

Your humor may be a bit weird but I seriously love it. It's the stupid jokes and the hot takes being presented in this dumb way that I absolutely love. Thanks for the funny content, you are seriously underrated! (And I hope the channel stays Raid-Shadow-Legends-free.)
Thank you for helping this channel stay raid shadow legend free . You are truly a legend .
Thank you for keeping this channel raid shadow legends free and I'm glad that you're enjoying the videos!
Comparators also have a subtraction mode. Right clicking on the comparator turns on the third light and putting it into subtraction mode. When in this mode, comparator subtracts redstone signal on one or both sides from the signal on the back of the comparator and output the result in the front.
I'm aware, I just didn't include it because the clock design didn't use that function
To be honest I didn't know it worked like this, I just knew that the simple redstone signal repeating thing everyone uses required you to right click it for whatever reason lol
(If my wording confused you at all, I'm referring to when you power the back and then connect the front and one of the sides with redstone to repeatedly turn the redstone on and off very quickly)
@@hithereireallysuckyeah, that's basically the comparator doing subtraction over and over again. You give it a constant redstone signal at the back and wire the front of the comparator to it's side. One tick the clock is turned on, then the next tick the comparator subtracts the signal on the side from the signal on the back and the clock turns off, then the next tick the comparator realizes that the signal on the side is turned off and there is no subtraction to be done, so the clock now turns on again, and then it just repeats the cycle over and over until you remove the signal on the back of the comparator
This man teaches us redstone within 13 minutes Hats off to him
Writing the explanation took a while but I'm glad it paid off!
its crazy to see you go from around 300 to 50K subs in 8 months. Definitely deserved!
keep up the good work!
I agree, Aria Math is the best minecraft song for me too.

I hope this covers your medical expenses that was hard to watch. Make sure you put a barrel of fire resistance potions right outside your nether portal so you don't forget one next time
Thank you for your continued support my guy!
And yeah, I'm never going into the nether without a fire resist potion anymore lmao

@@Mortal_Remi SUUI THATS MY SCHOOLS LINE!!
Love it when Xay tells us classic high school stories 🥰
I love the montage of the ending. I have a good knowledge of redstone but always give me a good headache. What a good breakdown of redstone u did.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I remember seeing a bunch of working clock towers a while back, and I was always so jealous because I have a non-functional clock tower in my main creative world
You could give snap2it's design a try as well, I've linked it in the description and the pinned comment if you'd like to see his guide
Your explanation was amazing. I am pretty good at redstone, and I completely understood the build
Phew, glad that it was clear!
@@XayXayYT It was so good that I was able to make a clock of my own without any help !
1:52 I’m pretty sure the Mining Fatigue symbol is a silver shovel
Idk I feel like shovels aren't that round at the end lol
"Silver Shovel" is a weird way to say "Comically Large Spoon"
you're very good at explanations, i dont understand a lot about redstone so i really enjoyed listening to you explaining the clock mechanism :D. The showcase part was unironically amazing too
1:53 It's a spoon because it's a reference to the "digging out of jail using a spoon" trope, and how that takes ages.
Also, the only hot take I agree with you on is that Aria Math is the best Minecraft song.
Cool dramatic shots at the end, impressive and those jumps with the beat at the end was neat.
12:10 holy crap the editing is so frickin cool
Finally A Fellow Physics Enjoyer! And I Also Agree With All The Controversial Takes You Have. Happy To See That You Have Grown From Like Not Even A 1000 Subs To 50k Great Vids (Would like to see more of minecrafts most controversals series tho)
Suggestion: add a system where the little black stone bits become quartz or something else white before noon, using daylight sensors, and a comparator in comparing mode so they change exactly at noon and midnight
10:01 I mean, all you had to do was ask, silly :3 Other than that, thanks for making me smile with today's episode. Cheers
2:08 that diamond armor took some serious damage
It really did
Your redstone explanation was very easy to follow. You explain things very well, actually.
That clocktower showcase transition from day to night with the synthwave remix of aria math was badass
Dammm that lava swim was intense. Well played 💪
Also, in my personal experience, the best way to deal w hoglings, is either using a 3 block gap in a bastion, or open ground, or towering up 4 blocks and using a lava bucket. Same with a piglin brute, except you just need to tower up 3 blocks and use a lava bucket. Hope this helps. (Sorry for bad English)
i appreciate how u actually credit the Person behind the Build ur using instead of just *Yoinking* it. Very Insightful Content, i'm definitely subbing up
I try my best to give credit everytime :)
you are right about aria math being the best minecraft piece and that remix is so op
While I'm a bit of a redstone fan, I've only built relatively simple contraptions in Survival (usually part of farms) and a few flying machines in Creative (actually one more in Survival, so I could get the elytra, as the island that an End gateway had led me to was a little bit lonely). The most advanced thing I've built in Survival was a blaze farm that automatically suffocates blazes to 1 hit point once there are enough of them (before the 24 entity cramming limit).
Also, I've had my character recently die on an SMP to a hoglin that threw me off a bridge into lava - I had crappy armor with no Protection so I couldn't just tank the damage and sustain myself on food like you did.
Yeah protection enchantments were the absolute MVP in that
He only took 4 minutes to explain this redstone clock and the rest is the rest...
Only 4 minutes...
Xayllernste. My hats off for you. Grate man you are.
That 4 minutes explanation took me a full day to write and im glad it paid off lol
@@XayXayYT
You did great, tho it has no concrete explanation just superficial and no dive in details; nonetheless it's helpful.
Very well done.
Also yours is chemistry, mine is cuantics.
Came for the redstoning advice, stayed for the insane clock edit
1:53 it's supposed to represent a tool that would mine really slowly, as opposed to haste which is a golden pick (the fastest tool)
Took me a while to see this, but thank you so much for including my redstone in your video! Your explanation of how it works was excellent!
Glad you liked it! It took like a few hours of like truly studying it but your step by step guide of how to build the clock tower really helped me with understanding it :)
Watching this series has really made me want to play minecraft again (after about a 5 month break).
2:08 this is why i always keep atleast 1 fire resistance potion with me when im in the neather
Gotta hand it to you, the demonstration of the video is indeed lit as hecc 🔥
Cant wait for this one
Man I found out this channel 2 day ago, watched every single video and I was watching when you went live 2 the other day.Now I just need daily uploading to keep up with this withdrawal, such a drug XD
You have a talent for teaching! Great presentation
simply made the best Redstone Tower Clock edit and thought we woudn t notice 👀
9:28 IDK what you're talking about, these are the coldest takes ever!
Maybe it's by personal experience but when I said tomato was a fruit got a few loud responses from people who are believe "tomato is a vegetable" lol
the best part of this video was the camera work with the music. It perfectly synced and really hyped your work the way it should!!
1:40 but... what about froglights?
Honestly, I think all of the light blocks look pretty good, they're just tricky to make work with most of the common block palettes. Especially the jack o'lantern, which is a very cool looking block that is essentially impossible to use in any build that is not Halloween themed.
I think Mining Fatigue's image is a spoon due to the painfully slow amount of time it would take to dig out of somewhere with just a spoon, like all the made up stories and jokes about digging out of prison with just a spoon :P great vid btw
I don't normaly mess around with music disks, but I can now say that Aria Math is the best.
2:40 SUSPEEENNNSEEE oh god I am freaking out watching that right now
Imagine spending 10 hours building a tower - This post was written by "four gold ingots with a redstone in the middle" gang
Jokes aside, It looks lovely. When I first saw the title, I thought you were attempting to recreate the game "Clock Tower" on Minecraft lol. Speaking of which, I hope we get a spoopy video sometime in the next month, but no pressure.
A halloween video could be something I can plan!
Good job on making redstone look simple, undertand everything even if I never bothered search how it work. And yeah Aria Math best music in existence (objectively)
but tomato is not a fruit
I love how xay says he's bad at minecraft, and then pulls out a superb lava save, without using up a totem.
I wouldn't really call it superb since I'm mostly just panicking and eating food to outheal the damage but thank you!
@@XayXayYT usually looking upon other hardcore ytbers, its probably a much more safer save, bcs, usually ytbers tend to just mindlessly waste a totem. But still a great save. Though it only works on Java, bcs of the saturation differences.
my guess on why mining fatigue is a spoon is because of the idea of someone slowly digging their way out of a prison using a spoon like in cartoons.
Absolutely loves the video. I’m trying to get inspiration from your roof when creating the roof for my own clock tower. 😊
i love the synth in there bro
A spoon is a slow shovel which is why it's perfect for mining fatigue
the end is epic best clock demonstration in my life

0:45 true and if you are playing in one block then it is necessary to organize all thing my personal experience 😅
Holy shit that production at the end was actually fantastic

Ay, when can I expect you to upload redstone builds with your remixes?
@@XayXayYT 🙃
Thanks man. Even despite all the amazing contents you bring, you still gave us this awsome "redstone tutorial", which really encourage me a lot to start using redstone. Yesterday I made my first automatic portal because of you :)
Greetings from Brazil
Glad to help :p
2:12 this feelt like a stage in a game of last stretch, to test your defence, and you didn't need to use your totem.
it is grate that you survived the lava lake, with no totem deaths
I still haven't used any totems yet, I think I can still decide whether or not to keep them
YOOOO THAT CLOCK EDIT IS SOO GREAT!! WOW!
Also: ARIA MATH THE BEST
Even though I only understood half of things you just said, it's still a great video!
brooo that edit was crazy 🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️⁉️⁉️ keep the good work up
This was such a good vid, keep up the work man!!
*Math* is the best science, pineapple *doesn't* belong on pizza, tomato *is* a fruit, and *"Mice on Venus"* is the best MineCraft song.
Kinda, no, yes, and no (Aria Math is better, but I also have a sweet spot for The End).
Cant believe i actually understood redstone!
Thnx a lot
Great content
Glad to hear that!
you learned me more then school did lol
I watched the video to have a bigger understanding of redstone, now my knowledge is even less than what I knew before
Aria Math IS the most goated song in existence
Now that showcase at the end goes hard af
It took up an entire day to record and edit, but it was worth it
Oh wow that’s so complicated I don’t really understands but anyways another nice vid❤
he's right, Aria Math is the best of minecraft songs
One of the longest 60 seconds of my life
Hope it was worth the wait :)
Well it surely was. From the moment you’ve said “I gonna make a redstone clock” I’ve thought of two variants: it’ll be just a copy of existing project, but you’ll explain it or you’ll design some random sht which’ll work not as a clock. But you’ve managed to be better than both of these, I’m just so happy with that
Tomato is a fruit and a vegetable. These things are not mutually exclusive. Fruit is a botanical term that relates to certain characteristics of a plant, and vegetable is a culinary term that relates to how a particular plant is prepared as food.
Avocado is also a fruit and a vegetable, and even watermelon is a vegetable in the culinary of some places.
Also the best Minecraft song is Taswell.
bro made the hardest edit of a clock tower ever
You are genuinely hilarious af. Glad I found your channel. 🤣
That was a good explanation, I got the gist of it. However if you wish upon improvement towards explaining things, I may ask u to elaborate more on the relation between comparators. As once someone understands the basic functions and how it works with other items, it makes understanding the clock process much easier.
i love chemistry you are now my favorite minecraft youtuber
omg I only got it when you said mama fox, thats yae miko ^^
9:45 totaly agree Aria math is my preferite too :3
WE NEED A NEW EPISODE
as an aria math enjoyer that handpan at the start is so good i wish someone would just do a version with handpan only also speaking of underrated songs ward is good you just gotta give it a minute
4:26 correction/deeper explanation: comparators also have a subtraction mode (when you right click it, the redstone torch near the front gets lit up) which subtracts the side input from the back input (example: 13 from the side, 15 from the back = 2 in front)
CHEMISTRY FOR THE WIN WOOOOOOOOOOOOO
2:45 in a situation like this (middle of lava lake, no blocks/pearl) what I'd do is try to get to the bottom of the lake, mine down, and block urself off. Considering how tanky you are, it shouldn't be a problem
this is the best minecraft hardcore series if ever seen!
Yeah so your quality went from noticeably good to off the rails, well done man
Off the rails in a good way I hope heh
All that is missing now is a short hunchback with comically large scissors, and it's good to go.
*The Scissor man*
There was no need to worry your explanation was great
I like your clock tower.
that can be your home.
some villains live in a clock tower.
True
love your videos xay, I think I'm going to go try some redstone now. HOWEVER. Pineapple *absolutely* belongs on pizza! boo!
The yellow squares in your pfp are pineapples in disguise
tomato being a fruit is not a hot take as it is an undenyable fact
All the hot takes were amazing except for the last one 10:04
During the lava incident you could just let totem of undying go off, it would give fire resistance
Yeah I forgot totems gave fire res so I panicked for no reason lmao
