This Bacteria Might Be Lurking on Some of Your Kids’ Toys

- Kids love their stuffed animals. But they just might be getting an unexpected mouthful of dirt and harmful germs. Inside Edition swabbed them for germs and sent them in for testing. “They’re just collecting debris, germs, microbes, mold, and you can’t see it. It’s microscopic,” Sandra Gordan of Baby Quip told Inside Edition. Lab results showed that there were four different types of bacteria present on the toys, including staph aureus, which can cause skin infections and even pneumonia. #InsideEdition

staph aureus is everywhere lol. it's pretty much on everybody's skin and very rarely causes issues
unless your me! My own staph hates me 🤣 makes shaving a whole new adventure. 😂
Staph can only harm you if it gets inside your body.
@Quack quack haha
It's good to keep harmless germs and bacteria around, it keeps our immune system from overreacting to these kinds of things when they do get inside the body in small amounts.
*G R A P E*
This is so cringe... Of course there's bacteria on everything... Ooo staph aureus!! You mean the bacteria that is found on 99.9% of people's skin?? How could that possibly be on a child's toy?? God forbid you learn about what lives on the surfaces of toys at school
Exactly! They make everything dramatic.
Lmao this was so funny to watch after learning about the bacteria last month in microbiology. It's literally the most common bacteria on our skin, and of course it'll be over their stuffed animals. I even swabbed my wrist to see what grows on an agar disk and staph aureus grew!
Ikr, I cringe so much ≥﹏≤
This just shows how news can be very manipulative
Inside edition needs to stop with all this or at least get their heads out of their asses
Being with bacteria growing up can boost your immune system. Sounds counterintuitive but allowing people to play outside in the dirt and grass can greatly help them become less sick in the future.

General Information about Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus aureus [staf I lō-kok is aw ree us] (staph), is a type of germ that about 30% of people carry in their noses. Most of the time, staph does not cause any harm; however, sometimes staph causes infections.
