    Great job guys. My only suggestion is to put a piece of corrugated steel or the like behind the stove spaced from the wall by about 2 inches. It will keep the wall from getting too hot and possibly catching fire.

    • @markwalden6682
      @markwalden6682 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My only suggestion is that you stop with your soft virtue signaling. You obviously don't know what you are talking about. This stove has a built-in fireproof screen, which eliminates the need for redneck corrugated steel. Save it for you double wide

    Two are better than one...for sure. I admire your tenacity and meticulousness. Is this an actual home you live in or is it just a vacation cabin? Don't you have to have a metal backing to it or a rock backing on the fireplace?

    Very good job! Something so cool and deeply satisfying building and creating something that will out live you. Its your place that you built but who knows. Someone that isn't even born yet my own and enjoy it in the future. Raising their own small little family in someplace you brought into existence.

    Just to let you know that I am sitting in my living room in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 with my wife on a Saturday night chilling and drinking a bottle of champagne which one of my friends bought me for my birthday present watching your video, I have watched Timmy for quite a while now and really like his videos which in turn brought me onto your videos. I just wanted to let you know that if I was living in Alaska the life I would probably love is the kind of life that you and your wife seem to have.
    I am very hands on with projects like yourself and your videos are bloody fantastic 👏👏👏 keep up the good work and have a healthy and happy life. ( The memories live on forever) 🙏🙏🙏

    We had a fire in our home. It was a piece of plywood behind the brick. The plywood combusted after a while we had a fire going. Read up on it. While I am on my safety tips get a fire mat for under the grill. Amazing meal. Nice job on the puzzle. I loved it.

    Steve had a really good way of doing this. he took a garbage bag and poked the chimney sweep pole through the bottom , hooked the wire brush up to it and duct tapped it to the chimney from the bottom. and swept it up rather than down.

    You might need some fire proof gyprock or fire proof substance on the wall behind your stove.
    Nice work you guys.

    • @jimmylarge1148
      @jimmylarge1148 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! In my state anyways u need 36 inches from the or any wall that doesn’t have metal, rock or otherwise between the wall and the stove. U also need a one inch gap between your non combustible and your combustible wall.
      The code inspector would shut this dude down for sure. 😂 even with the non combustible put behind they still want 18 inches between stove and non combustible

    Well…
    As far as the ash is concerned…
    I’m old enough to remember that here in Europe, people used the ash to cover the pathways and sidewalks in Winter… before everybody was using salt … and … the also put ash in the garden… under the flowerbeds …
    A extra pair of hands, is always useful … building things … not falling of the roof comes to mind 😆
    Oh yes … one more thing …
    One could over engineer things but, you can never go to sturdy … unless you need flexibility of course …
    Good job madame/sir …
    Greetings from Germany everybody 👋

    PS. still snow outside ..? Wow 😊

    When having to mix by hand mix your mortar thinly at first to ensure you’re able to mix it well and then add powder to desired thickness. Save time, wrist, and ensure its well mixed.

    I have a beautiful log house in rural Botswana in Southern Africa which I'll also like to fit a wood stove in it. We have all the materials used on your stove installation , I only wanted to see the sealing around the chimney so that the roof don't leak.

    To clean my stove chimney flew out, I set the fire going at its very hottest and threw some aluminium shards on the roaring flames, You can purchase these in the UK where I live, it cleans all the tar and chimney coal/wood burnt black dust out...........I have used it now for over 6 years.
