Jackson Wang (Chinese: 王嘉爾; Korean: 왕잭슨; born 28 March 1994) is a Hong Kong rapper, singer, fashion designer and dancer based in China. He is the founder of record label Team Wang, and is the creative director and lead designer for fashion brand Team Wang Design. He is active in mainland China as a solo artist and television host. He is a member of the South Korean boy group Got7, and also a member of the Chinese hip hop group Panthepack.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Wang was a sabre fencer for Hong Kong's fencing team. He was ranked eleventh in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, and won first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships in 2011. After passing a music audition, he moved to Seoul, South Korea in July 2011 to pursue a career in K-pop. Jackson is a beast. Team Wang is actually his music label in China. He is very proud of it. When GOT7 went on break, he went to China to run his company. He was doing both at the same time! He was posting when they finally came out with Team Wang merch. Know that when you see Team Wang at the beginning, he is in everything - music videos concepts, producing the music, lyrics, styling. I was introduced to him thru RM. I love his personality. He will give it to you straight. He loves to joke around & have fun. On the other side he is hard working & a perfectionist. I watched this one vid where he was online answering fans questions & it was just 😁🥰🤪 He even now has a group consisting of him & 3 others called Panthepack. If it’s true that GOT7 is going to make a comeback - poor Jackson will have a lot on his plate. I’m glad you enjoyed it & thanks for sharing.

Jackson Wang, as a summary of the little I have been able to learn from him: he is a very charismatic and complete artist, he is of Chinese nationality but belongs to the Korean group Got7. As a talent he is incredible, he has a great intellect, an incredible athlete (son of Olympic athletes and was part of the fencing team), he is a rapper in the group, I think a main dancer (he has an excellent athletic training and it is seen that he applies it incredibly within of his choreographies) and of course, an excellent singer. He formed his own agency (team wang) and in it he shares his music, produced by him, in addition to offering products under his brand. Now in the artistic field, in addition to producing his songs, he also directed, planned, his music videos, since "100 WAYS" is only the first part of a wonderful story told from his vision (which he says is inspired by old Chinese movies). . which he likes so much), followed by "Pretty Please", "LMLY". Of which the latter you can find post-credit scenes shows where the behind the scenes and part of their participation in the development of the videos. (There's also a behind-the-scenes video of "100 WAYS" if you're interested) *Of all this is my favorite video, I do not overcome the aesthetics, mixed with the choreography, the music and his voice.
I love whoever recommended Jackson Wang for your reactions. He is currently a solo artist who is a rapper, singer, and dancer from China who works with several teams (Team Wang Label, Panthepack, 88rising, etc) on different music and other projects. He is, or was, a member of the kpop group GOT7 which recently let their contract expire with Korean Kpop management JYP so the members could have the artistic freedom that they needed. His dancing and acting training came from his training at JYP kpop management. Jackson is in control of a lot of the production and aspect of his music, videos and other projects that he works on. FYI, Jackson is also a friend of Namjoon's during BTS's early years on the circuit and would support each other's work and groups. I'm sure there are a few BTS fans that are Jackson fans too (like me) because of their friendship. So far, you've been getting great artist recommendations. Jackson is from Hong Kong and is such a cool, smart artist. He speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and English and who knows what else.
Love Jackson Wang. '100 Ways' was the first mv I ever saw from him and I was mesmerized. The is not a music video, it's a short movie. It's my favorite from him.
You should watch more of his mv's. "LMLY' & 'Drive you Home' are also like short movies. They're both story driven mvs.

Oh my gooooooosh! I haven't been keeping up with TH-cam stuff so I had no clue you were going to react to this. I love Jackson!!!!!! He's amazing! If nobody has told you already, you - absolutely no exceptions - have to react to his mv "Drive You Home." The filming of that mv was unlike any I have ever seen, Jackson's acting was next level spectacular, the song was a jam, and I cried very real tears watching it. His song LMLY (Leave Me Loving You) is also amazing and I listen to it all the time.
Btw, you may look like a scruff-looking nerfherder, but at least you have a nice shirt.
Back to Jackson, I love his voice. My word. So rich and sharp which I think stems from the fact that he debuted as a rapper. I personally prefer his singing to his rapping, but that's not to say his rapping isn't awesome, because it is, but I love his voice. The camera work in this is spectacular. Your analysis is also on point and very detailed.
Now random fun facts (disclaimer: I am not an expert on Jackson Wang; I just know what I've seen and heard): Jackson is known for being a gentleman and extremely respectful of women and people in general. He's good friends with RM from BTS. I think his mom was a achrobatic gymnist and his dad was a fencer; both were really good and his dad won a gold medal in some big competition (I know. So specific). As a result, it was really hard for Jackson to choose music as a career. His song "Alone" is about that, and it's one of my favorite songs ever. Lastly, Jackson has such a sense of humor; he's hilarious.
Wish you can work with him soon. Because he went to America on 9 Feb 2002.

The story in the Jackson's "100 Ways" MV is a sort of ancient Chinese Romeo and Juliet story. In the MV Jackson is an ancient Chinese soldier who has come back to life after being killed to find his lover and resurrect her so they can spend eternity buried together. So the backup dancers are his troops who are there to serve him and to pledge their loyalty to Jackson their leader, etc. That is why it looks like he is controlling and commanding them. The Kata hand movements are the spell they are using to bring everyone back to life.
The story in "100 Ways" is actually sort of connected to the story in "Jackson's MV for "Pretty Please ft. Galantis." You should watch "Pretty Please" next, and at the end of that MV (make sure to watch all the way to the end of the credits) you will get to hear him explain the concept behind the 2 MVs and what the stories are about.
Jackson Wang is one of the rappers in the Kpop group GOT7. He is Chinese, from Hong Kong. He grew up attending an international school in Hong Kong were the primary language spoken was English. So he is now fluent in English, and he speaks English almost better than his native Cantonese. So, when it comes to his solo work, most of his songs are in English or Mandarin. Jackson speaks 4 languages fluently: Cantonese, English, Korean and Mandarin.
As a soloist he is a global artist. He writes and composes and produces his own music and he is a music mogul -- he runs is own label/company with his crew called Team Wang. Because most of Jackson's songs are in English, and he is a fluent English speaker, he does a lot of promotional activities in the U.S. as well, and has collaborated with several famous U.S. artists.
Jackson is gaining a reputation as one of the biggest and most famous singer/songwriter/producer/dancer/artists in China, alongside Lay (Zhang Yixing) from the Kpop group EXO. They are both international powerhouses who dominate in all aspects of the Chinese entertainment industry and internationally.
Jackson has 100% control over all aspects of his solo work because he owns it all himself. It's all part of his company. However, "100 Ways" actually was choreographed and the MV was produced under the direction of the Kinjaz, which are an American crew. The Kinjaz have done a lot of projects with Jackson and several of his projects are in collaboration with them. I love this video so much!!! The story he's telling and the lighting in this video are amazing!! I appreciate how you pointed the fact that his performance, face expressions and body moves are a key to make this video works so great. This was the first video I watched from him and totally made me want to know more about his work, LMLY and Drive you home are another 2 videos with great stories and makes you feel you're watching a mini movie, I totally love it!!

Love Jackson Wang! This video was directed by Daniel “Cloud” Campos, and Jackson does like to be involved with all sides of production. Since you like your Shakespeare (who doesn’t, really), you should check out Not By the Moon by GOT7, the Korean group Jackson is a part of currently. They are on hiatus for now, but will hopefully reunite soon. Jackson also did a parody of this song for his fans that is not only well shot, but terribly funny. Thank you for doing this reaction - I think he is very underrated artist. He used to be part of a KPop group called Got7, which I believe just disbanded recently - not sure. His other solo song that I love is called Bullet to the Heart. Highly recommend.
Yes to bullet to the heart. The group is inactive not disbanded but it's a common misconception anyway. He's been focusing on his global pop/r&b career for the past year hope we get to see his album soon!

I love his style of MVs. I love when he's a part of GOT7 as a rapper as well but you really get to see him shine in his own music where he focuses more on being a vocalist. English is not his first language so that may be why some of his pronunciation may seem like stylistic choices. He's from China but speaks like 5+ languages (I'm not sure on how many he's fluent in but I know quite a few).
I like on his earlier videos how simplistic yet very well done they are. I highly recommend reacting to more of his MVs. Some of my favorites are Bullet to the Heart, Oxygen, and LMLY. Also, I hope you can react to GOT7 as well!

Jackson is the king! 👑 (Wang means king in Chinese). Check out some of his other solo work, it’s good. He is from Hong Kong, & is good friends with RM from BTS. He is part of the Korean idol group Got7. They did not exactly break up but they left their label JYP and are all doing their own projects for now- some singing, some acting, with different companies. Jackson is CEO of his own label and he will release 2 new albums this year.

I'm catching up on some videos today and was excited to get to this. I've been a Jackson Wang fan for a minute (4+ years at least). Kpop consistently produces some of the most fantastic mvs. Imo its more accurate to call them very short musical films, some even have ending credits. Cedgehogs should vote on the best of these " kpop micro-movies" to feed your love of film. I knew you'd eat this video up, its probably my fave jackson/ team wang video (cant forget to give props to his talented crew) -- i really enjoyed the reaction...Purple you💜!
