GETTING (ALMOST) EVERYTHING DONE AT MICKEY'S NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY IN 2023!

- We are back at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World for 2023. We attended on Friday, September 1st.
The party was great. Due to the rain, our plans changed quite a bit and we ended up just going with the flow. This worked out great, as we got a lot done.
We started our night by RUNNING to Tron for our 4:45pm - 5:45pm Individual Lighting Lane that we purchased. Because we were late getting to the park, we almost missed it. However, this ended up being an amazing time to go because we literally walked on and had the train almost completely to ourselves.
We then got in line for Space Mountain as the line was short and we didn't think the party overlay would be on yet. However, around 6:30pm, they shut down the ride for about 5 minutes and did the overlay which was awesome.
We then went back to the front to get our treat bags and check on the line for Jack & Sally. It was 185 when we walked in around 5:30pm. At 7:00pm, it was down to 120. We decided to wait though which ended up being the right decision. I went to City Hall to get my first batch of Gluten Free treats. They were a little stingy this year, so we went back several times over the course of the night. Allergy stations are at City Hall and Liberty Square.
We then rode, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Haunted Mansion. I thought there were live actors at two of these attractions, but they weren't out. We still enjoyed them though. Ray also got his Skull Brownie and then we headed back to Tron for our party boarding group. We were 174 and were called at 7:51pm.
We then headed back to Main Street to see Jack & Sally. The app said the wait was 90 minutes and with the first parade about to start, we figured this would be the best time to go. The wait ended up being about 45. This is always a highlight for Rider.
The wait for Mickey Mouse was only 10 minutes, so Rider and I went while Ray went to the bathroom and we got out at 10:10pm JUST in time to watch the fireworks. We walked up Main Street until we found a spot where we could see Jack Skellington enough. I do think the fireworks crowds were a little lighter because of the rain.
We did decide to skip the second parade. Rider wanted to see the Seven Dwarfs and we also wanted to see his former Kindergarten Teacher's daughter who is currently in the Disney College Program and was working by Gaston's Tavern (an awesome treat spot BTW).
We got to Storybook Circus at 10:50pm and the wait was 15 minutes. They close at 11pm, so this worked out perfectly. We also found the @KINDSnacks Treat Station. We went through 3xs ;). It looks like this one shut down at 11:15pm.
We then rode Space Mountain one more time and then rode Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as the last ride of the night just before midnight. And we walked immediately to watch the last Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular castle show which starts at midnight. This is my favorite show because 1. there are a lot less people & 2. You don't waste valuable party time because the party is technically over.
All in all, it was an amazing (& exhausting) party night. We got soooo much done, especially for arriving late. The important lesson we learned is to be flexible and also know you cannot possibly do everything. The parade wasn't a priority for my son and I really only wanted to see the Headless Horseman. I assumed he would not be out though due to the rain and I was right.
I highly recommend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

So we did the party last night and we followed the strategy suggested and left feeling very accomplished. We did line up at 2:30 to get in at 3:50 ish. Went straight to Jack & Sally just to see and it was already 120 min and we were probably in the first 50 or so in the people attending the party to enter, so I’m assuming that people who had park tickets that day had already been lining up for the meet and greet. We decided to head over to Pirates and had 3 or 4 rides under our belt in the first hour. It did rain around 6 pm and we lost about an hr bc Little Mermaid stopped running to become a rain shelter. It finally let up around 7:30 pm and then we did about 3 or 4 more rides, ate, then headed to jack and sally during the first parade. I think we only waited about 15 min. Then we headed to Tron to do our virtual cue and then lined up for the final parade. Thanks for the tips. It really helped and we watched every video we could search on this event and this was the only one that recommended this strategy. It worked great for us! Thanks!

Not watching the parade is a big part. It eats up a lot of time. We saw it last year and the only thing I wanted to see was the Headless Horseman and I knew he wouldn’t come out with how wet everything was.
Key points: do treat stations later at night or as you come on them. We got tons of candy, but didn’t spend a lot of time doing them. Get to 7 dwarfs around 10:45 and go to Jack & Sally during the 1st parade. We could have seen more characters but my son was over them LOL
Since Halloween party guests can enter at 4, are you able to go straight to Jack and Sally before the party starts? I’m going august 13th, and I also have a general park admission ticket. I’m going to be there from early entry rope drop til the end of the party. Am I able to get in line for jack and Sally at 4? I’d love to get it out of the way as soon as possible so i can get the most out of the party. It will be my first time at magic kingdom. I want to meet the seven dwarves, jack and Sally, the second parade so I can do other things during the first, catch the fireworks, and the hocus pocus show.

@@ShannonFord oh, that’s great! However, I have a dinner reservation for Be Our Guest at 4:20 pm. I originally had it at 5, but I changed it so I can be done with dinner before the party starts. Do you know when the line would be the shortest? I know it’s probably the shortest at 4, but would it be short at like 6?
@@ShannonFord Now I’m thinking I should have kept the reservation for 5. That way I would have time to get the Halloween wrist band and get right in line at 4 and knock it out.

but this coming OCT 2024 it’s my girlfriend’s and I’s 1st doing Mickeys not so scary…
Where do you leave the bag of candies when u go on rides?
Not a silly question at all. So we would still bring a stroller with us, mainly because it was so late when we left and we used it to leave. So we would leave them there. But now, I think we would just have to carry them

Sure. We were staying on property at Bay Lake Tower, so we were able to purchase ILL at 7am that morning and I picked the last window which was 4:45pm - 5:45pm

The rain actually helped us do things. I think many people got there late because of it. Rain can be a blessing, just be prepared.

What time do you get to your spots fore the midnight showing of the hocus pocus show because they looked awesome
We literally walked up as it started. We started off to the side, but moved to the middle. I did have to pick up my son so he could see better. Given that he’s 67 pounds, my back felt it the next day, but it was worth it. He loves that show.
How long did you have to wait for jack and sally going during the parade? Was planning on being there early when my family goes next week and getting in line for it first thing but now I’m curious about going and doing some other things and trying during the first parade.
It was about 45 minutes. It said 90. I don’t know if this is typical or because of the rain. Though it wasn’t raining when we went

Yes, but if you are staying off property, they will probably be sold out by the time you can purchase.

You never said how long the wait was for Jack and Sally when you went back during the parade. Was it long?
