I was a huge Jonathan Livingston Seagull fan in my teens and collected many seagull themed items. My fave was the one from Sea World or Marineland that was two gulls attached by wires to a fake rock base and would sway back and forth when touched. I would lie at the beach and watch as they would catch a draft and with nary a wing flap just glide on the updraft, just as a hawk would inland.....This is by far the most realistic one I’ve seen in origami, one made with Grey/Grey paper would be dramatic! To someone who does complex origami this would be simple but to those of us in the Simple Origami ( on Facebook ) group this would be considered more advanced than simple. Being that this is his first design he must have folded many other models to have arrived at this level of expertise. I am so glad that he shared this model with us and look forward to what he may develop in the future! Thank You for taking the time Tadashi to explain this gorgeous rendition of my favorite animal and thank you Riccardo for designing it!
I've made 40 of these for my wedding decoration. Used A3 size paper to make the square so the seagulls are quite big and will be an amazing view, I'm sure :) Thank you so much for this amazing design!!!
Now I know what to do with those thousands of 10x10 cm pieces of foil as a result of making big 45x45s. Tadashi, on that tiny part in the head, are you inside reversing or just valey folding? Cant see well.
I wish I could send you pictures of what mine look like - total disaster. Somehow the wings are completely jacked up and no matter how many times I do the video - this is my 4th attempt, they always look the same - the never face down and the tail part doesn’t open in the right direction .
MI Plays Ainda moro em São Paulo sim. hahaha Nesse modelo usei Kami, o papel tradicional de origami mesmo. Não precisa de nada de especial pra falar a verdade
Tadashi Mori Obrigado mesmo Tadashi! Me chamo Marcelo! Te acompanho desde o blog onde fazia os video em port, haha, Cada vez mais experiente, parabéns, continuo aprendendo com vc :D
les pliages ont l'air d'aller un peu dans tous les sens, mais ça à l'air bien the folds seem to go a bit all over the place, but it looks good ps: I'm french
Hi, great work! Do you have the instructions on a paper form? Like a list of steps from a book instead of a video. My wife and me were thinking to give a printed piece of paper and instructions to our friends as a baby card. Greetings
Man change the difficulty to medium at least....it's not easy. :'( good one though, nice instructions, I was able to make it after a little bit of struggle. :)
oo can you please tell your location and country so i can come there to make this bird i think ii is too hard my country is nepal but you can tell me where you live so i will come there please
you made me so proud tadashi :') thank you for your fantastic work.

Vielen Dank für die ausführliche Anleitung 👌👌👏👏👏👏👏
One of the best origami seagulls I've seen! I really like how there are a lot of different types of angles.
Great origami model, I couldn't get the tail right no matter how hard I tried. Thank you very much for the tutorial 🙏👍✨
A simple but beautiful design. Muito obrigado, Tadashi-san!

Tadashi, on that tiny part in the head, are you inside reversing or just valey folding? Cant see well.
it's just a valley fold, used to lock the first fold of the head
I cannot find the link to the print directions for this model. Anyone have a link to them?
Good job tadashi! Thumbs up

Great quality of instruction Tadashi, do you by any chance know if Riccardo also made written diagrams for this?
I didn't but if you need i could do :)

Thank you for this nice origami. Kind regards Francis
Is this some traditional one or is it newly designed?
At the end of the video, Tadashi mentions that this is Riccardo Foschi's first design.

It doesn't fly unfortunately :>
I wouldn't call this an "easy" origami!
Yours is better than mine. Mine looks like crap xD
Other peoples idea of "easy" origami is not the same as mine. I just do not have the mind / patience for it.
can it fly?
oo can you please tell your location and country so i can come there to make this bird i think ii is too hard my country is nepal but you can tell me where you live so i will come there please
