My son found this on youtube and guess who got to make it, lol. It turned out pretty good, it was a little fast in places and I had to pause a lot and replay. I also think it would have turned out better with the proper origami paper. Son said it was brilliant, so there we go, it is currently flying around the room. Now with eyes on. Thank you very much for your model video. :-)
This is an outstanding model. It amazes me how you come about creating it, esp. how you figure out ahead what is to become of the sink-folds, etc. to make up the features of the animal. The speed is a bit fast only for the kinky parts, but the instruction is excellent. This complex model can easily takes up to 30 minutes by other artists. What can make it hard to follow is because the kinky parts need to be shown a few times at various angles. If this step is skipped, then difficulty may follow, not of the folding but of the confusing new geometry to the learner at a fast glance. Thank you again for the great work. And let people make suggestion in appreciation but not criticism so there will be future enchantment for enjoyment to all.
Very nice tutorial. this is the first "dinosaur" origami that i try ( i am a beginner with non-modular origami) and i found it very nice. Great tutorial, it mage me arrive till the end of the model so it does work. If I can just add a little criticism, both pteranodon and pterodactyl had basically no tail: there was instead a membrane called uropatagium between their legs that were not separated: therefore a more accurate model would try to hide the tail somehow and connect the legs. Anyways, this is not a course in paleontology but an origami tutorial, so, good work Mr Mori!
I was wondering the same thing about why they call it kami paper when kami literally means paper in Japanese. I imagine it's because it's the most common type of origami paper and it's mostly made in Japan. If it were primarily made in South America, it might have been called "papel" instead of kami!
Re: COMPLAINTS Anyone that complains about Mr. Mori's Origami Instruction Videos is not only rude but way off base. His videos are basically perfect. The speed of the videos is just right, the sequence of steps logical. There is nothing wrong with the way he teaches us Origami. I pretty much use his instructions exclusively. He has the coolest items that I thoroughly enjoy making and showing off to everyone. P.S. There is such a thing called the 'PAUSE' key!
Finally finally finally I made it. That to in single attempt. Last time I tried it a year ago and I failed to make and I left origami but today I made it. Thanks a lot for this work. You just got subscribed.
I made lot of your origamis. I am a subscriber for 2 years now and your videos are still awesome. I am 14 years old and I do not think that your videos are too slow. I think they are perfect. Keep doing the good work :)))
I love your videos and they are perfect imo. If I need to watch something again I just push the button that has two parallel lines that sort of looks like an 11. I know that might be a huge challenge for some but with practice you too can master the pause button.
I have to admit... you were able to instruct me to make this... even tho its not nearly as good as yours... its still very passable for a pterodactyl!! I have to be the least artistic person I know... so I guess the point I'm getting at here... thanks for the tutorial xD
Só uma dúvida: a cauda do modelo ao final do tutorial ficou diferente da cauda dos modelos na abertura do vídeo ou é impressão minha? Não faltou, digamos, "afinar" a cauda?
the only part i screwed up on was the mountain fold part. i looked up how to do a mountain fold and it kinda helped but its still hard for me to do all of them. thank you for the video though! it looks like it would turn out pretty cool.
This seems as some advanced origami level. There is plenty of material out there to help you understand basic and advanced folding techniques and forms that this video takes for granted in the sped up parts. Origami is an art, so a word to frustrated starters: as in plain painting you don't expect to grab a brush and work miracles or blame your instructor for your own failures,I suggest you muster your patience and do your own homework before taking out your frustration on a user only sharing his passion.
There's a Japanese Tee Shop near where I live that has an origami workshop every Tuesday, and they usually divide us in 2 groups: beginners and advanced, because we work at different speeds. I'm thinking that's the problem here. So people; give the guy a break about the speed of the video... he's doing his best.
How he says how to make the sink fold: "fold along the v shaped crease". How he does the sink: *folds along the v shaped crease, does a valley fold out of nowhere, does tons of other unknown folds*
Thanks for the model, just prepared some thai unryu paper with methylcellulose and I'm going to attempt this when I get home from school tomorrow . Although I'm a bit worried about how the folding into thirds will go since I have poor spacial judgement : /.
Depois do 2:56 até o 3:18 eu não entendi mais nada Todashi :( Por favor me ajude, gostei muito desse origame e ficaria eternamente grata se conseguisse fazer.Valew, espero respostas
made one, very good tutorial, I got everything, to bad my paper was to thick (just used A4 paper cut in a square). Going to try it again with origami paper later, hopefully it will look awesome then :)
Great model. I just started a few month ago with origami. Introduction is clear and easy to reproduce. Really enjoy to follow your videos. Don't give too much about the people that complain without any reason. If it is too fast, one can easily pause. That's one nice thing about videoinstructions:-).
Thank you for sharing this. I had stumbled upon this, and successfully made it for my kids. Those who complain about the speed of vidoe neglects a clear facts: pause and play again. Thank you again for your amazing works!
I made it. but i used the Print Paper :))) my Model was broken at few last step at the "Head" so that just not good like you did lol but still beautiful for me. thanks I'm Learning English :D
if you can't do it then just remember: there is always someone worse than you, like a girl in my seventh grade language arts class who managed to fail at a fortune teller.
Tadashi Mori, this tutorial is great, but if you do a remake, I could be able to make it. The reason why people dont like pausing and replaying is because they get confused and they accidentley unfold and mess up the model, ending the origami in atrash can. So if youd make a remake, I would greatley appreciate that
Great easy and beautiful origami , you are the best Mr.mori . Your tutorails are well done. I enjoy following your steps because this whole thing is new for me and you make it interesting easy and lovable
My son found this on youtube and guess who got to make it, lol.

Thank you very much for your model video.
:-)
It seems like some people are finding it too hard to make. I made a slower version of this tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/mc2p4QuORbU/w-d-xo.html

Thank you Tadashi for designing this model, it had a positive effect on the origami community
I gave up, but I’m going to try again a lot because I really dig and like the appearance of this pterosaur model :D
At least he said "fold this point to that point" before he sped up the vid...i still can understand the steps on how to make it :)
This is an outstanding model. It amazes me how you come about creating it, esp. how you figure out ahead what is to become of the sink-folds, etc. to make up the features of the animal.

Teradactals are actually not dinosaurs they are just flying reptiles. The more you know😄👍.
Done for the model!!!!glad to be the part of 10 second rewind...ahahaha
Nice video; Idk why so many people are complaining - you presented everything clearly and simply

i dont know why they complain,i think the step is clear and easy to follow
Tadashi, Where do you get your paper (squares with white backs)?
I love this its my fav dinosaur and i learned how to be a pro at origami from your videos i tried to do this and i did it like 70 times
How do you do a sync fold? (in 07:27). I'm stuck!
Mr. Tadahi Mori I would like to say YOU'RE THE BEST PERSON I'VE EVER SUBSCRIBED TO!!!!!!!:DDDDDD
xD, Corrected!
What was the paper you mention besides regular origami paper and where can I get?
I made lot of your origamis. I am a subscriber for 2 years now and your videos are still awesome. I am 14 years old and I do not think that your videos are too slow. I think they are perfect. Keep doing the good work :)))
Nice! Now i can play it with my family! Thanks!
Explain more on how to do the hard parts!!!!!!!!
loved this!!! many times when i want to make something with paper there is a need of glue etc. this is very nice 1
Sometimes origami makes me so confused because I look at the wrong flap, but in the end, I was able to make this, so thanks for the tutorial!
I love your videos and they are perfect imo. If I need to watch something again I just push the button that has two parallel lines that sort of looks like an 11. I know that might be a huge challenge for some but with practice you too can master the pause button.
genial
I wish my Portuguese was as good as your English! And I love this model, as always; very creative. I think your ingenuity is as good as Satoshi's!!!
what do u do with ur old models like old ancient or fiery dragon please reply
Thank you so much for your videos! Always so interesting and tutorials are very logical.
Mine got to thick when you have to fold the wings up(10:40) and the head ripped.
it was very nice that you give directions by talking
Thank you I love your tutorials very clear instructions :)
I have to admit... you were able to instruct me to make this... even tho its not nearly as good as yours... its still very passable for a pterodactyl!! I have to be the least artistic person I know... so I guess the point I'm getting at here... thanks for the tutorial xD
Great video, clever design. Also for all the crybabies, just try an easier origami until you're more comfortable with sink folds etc.
I pause and repeated and made it !!! Really happy thanks
You are so amazing and I love the way you made the pterodactyl
Só uma dúvida: a cauda do modelo ao final do tutorial ficou diferente da cauda dos modelos na abertura do vídeo ou é impressão minha? Não faltou, digamos, "afinar" a cauda?
it took me more than an hour to do this, hahaha, i almost gave up. thanks for the model
:D
Can the origami pterodactyl fly and I tried to make it but I have trouble on this one fold that's important
I'm having trouble with 5:48. I think my paper is too small
me too
the only part i screwed up on was the mountain fold part. i looked up how to do a mountain fold and it kinda helped but its still hard for me to do all of them.
thank you for the video though! it looks like it would turn out pretty cool.
Omg. It feels good to revisit the creation that I've learned in the past three years and do it in 2019 without any trouble.
hi my friends were wondering how i made an origami pteranodon so i suggested your channel so thanks great tutorial!
wow...he said lots of details and it was easy for me thanks for the details it came out perfectly :-)
Just folded the cp, It was a lot of fun. great job!
Where do you get the origami paper? :3
Where did you get that stand for it?

nice one, can i suggest something, can you place somewhere the dimension of the paper and the type of paper, maybe in the description or in the video.
There's a Japanese Tee Shop near where I live that has an origami workshop every Tuesday, and they usually divide us in 2 groups: beginners and advanced, because we work at different speeds. ja ja just by hearing your accent i could tell you are from Brazil! excellent video, i really enjoy it! Saudações dos Estados Unidos!
hey tadashi whats your next video gonna be?
How many sink folds do you want in your model?
Tadashi: Yes
thanks, but you can say tuck in instead of reverse fold for the extra flap
yeah! I made it!:) that was fun:) but you made the video faster in the most dificult moments:P bad boy:)
I dont see any difficult part
Sir How can You do this so perfectly
I love you models, Tadashi. =) Thank you for the tutorial!
What paper did you use for this?
Thanks I’ll show you when done…
Finally
I've been wanting to learn this since i saw this one ypur homepage or something
I don't even know what is that xD
Do you come up with your origami's?
I love it! Thank you Tadashisan!
por que voce nao faz os seus videos em portugues?
Boa parte da população mundial fala em inglês, ele faz os vídeos em inglês para que várias pessoas ao redor do mundo entendam..
Tadashi Mori, you inspired me to make origami again =)
How he says how to make the sink fold: "fold along the v shaped crease". How he does the sink: *folds along the v shaped crease, does a valley fold out of nowhere, does tons of other unknown folds*
If you know what's a sink fold then don't complain! You know very well that's a sink fold, then just follow it!!
i can do everything you say though i counldnt be as tidy as you did. . .but you are a good tutor for me. . .thanks tadashii san
May I make one for the display window at work?
Thanks! I made this for my 3 year old and he really likes it!
Thanks for the model, just prepared some thai unryu paper with methylcellulose and I'm going to attempt this when I get home from school tomorrow . Although I'm a bit worried about how the folding into thirds will go since I have poor spacial judgement : /.
What paper to use ??

Your videos have become much better than before
Hey Tadashi do you think you could make another channel for your simple origami (P.S I'm your biggest fan)
Tadashi Mori Muito obrigado Todashi :)

hey..... what is the name of the music avery time you start a video
What size paper?

I really liked this tutorial, thanks.

Wow my rendition from the crease pattern was very similar! XD I just folded the wings and legs differently.
Great!! I did it and was not that difficult :) Very good Origami's maker!
Wow that was awesome man Where did you live
Great model. I just started a few month ago with origami. Introduction is clear and easy to reproduce. Really enjoy to follow your videos. Does it fly ?
Thank you for sharing this. I had stumbled upon this, and successfully made it for my kids. Those who complain about the speed of vidoe neglects a clear facts: pause and play again. Thank you again for your amazing works!
Im a 10yr old making origami I would say this one was the hardest one yet :)
YAY! I made it! :D Nice model!
P.S. If u turn on captions, it is hilarious!
I made it. but i used the Print Paper :))) my Model was broken at few last step at the "Head" so that just not good like you did lol but still beautiful for me.
thanks
I'm Learning English :D
