I used to deal with a lot of suicidal tendencies and I got really scared to fall back into that pattern. The last part before the meditation really helped me recognize how much pressure I put onto myself to feel good and be in a good mindstate. I will still be hesitant but it's absolutely fine to have a bad day.

@@elless9730 there is in Clinical Psychology, and a softer type in Counseling (meaning it's not their job to diagnose mental disorders). But yeah, being in this field, I sort of understand therapy as "part of the job" instead of the job. Although in Counseling, they do primarily apply therapy. Clinical Psychologists can diagnose mental disorders, but does not prescribe medicine. They instead refer their clients to a Psychiatrist, who is at the higher ends of this field, in a sense. Of course, Psychology is not just those fields. The fun part about Psychology is it can just about be applied anywhere so long as people are involved
I've never related so much to somebody in a Dr. K interview. Thank you for teaching me how to be! I'll do my best to keep up with my being exercises, but sometimes it's hard to be mindful about it.

I’ve been struggling with feeling “behind”, not that I’ve been truly bemoaning it, but when I see friends of mine hit these milestones (like getting married, buying houses, and getting pregnant). I knew I wasn’t in a place in my life to do those things so I didn’t get like mad at myself about it, but I do now see clearly that my task is healing myself where I am. I am struggling with individuation and identity. So that’s what I am to work on. Thanks dr. K.

I find it interesting that someone who is doing something they love doing still feels like time is moving so fast. I've been kinda miserable the past decade. It's been a lot of soul searching, but i didn't ever consider how time could feel like it flies by even when you're enjoying it. It gave me a new perspective which is neat
I perfectly relate to the age pressure. I'm turning 28 in July. I honestly thought I would have a good paying job and having my own place by now, but I'm stuck living with my mom as my younger sister is about to get married. I have also recently (although not now) had a bunch of health anxiety thinking a bunch of common processes of the body was cancer or an infection.

Man, so sad how it didn't work out for her after all of the attention her engagement got, too. 14:47 It sucks to have a lot of people know you are attempting to accomplish something significant with your life, and for it not to work out. Can relate to this in a massive way. Told everyone that I was going to become a Marine Corps Officer. I made it all the way to Brown Field couple months ago only to decide it wasn't the lifestyle I wanted to lead. It was hard because my entire family and everyone I know and loved believed in me. I even started to believe in myself, but then got there and realized it wasn't at all the noble and honorable path I thought it would be. So much I still have to unpack... I doubt anyone will ever see this, and for that reason it feels good to write it all out here and vent about my experience a little. The number one thing to remember if you ever find yourself in this type of situation is that you can quit anything you want to if you feel it doesn't align with who you are as a person, but don't ever quit on yourself. Doesn't matter how hard and depressing things become, stay strong and you will always find a light at the end of the tunnel.
When Dr. K talks about the flow state and the difference between "doing" and "being", it reminds me of something a very spiritual friend once said. He spent time wandering the country in a van and I got to hang out with him while he was going through my town. He said he has been going around the country and just observing people. He said there's a lot of "human doings" and not a lot of "human beings." It was an interesting play on words and I'm not sure if this was exactly what he was talking about but I imagine it's something similar.
Aw fuslie is so precious she the type of celebrity i would intentionally ignore for the 0.00001% chance that i can meet her in life and have a real interaction with her, because it seems she wants that and appreciates the genuineness of it too Anyway!
seeing how caring she is with smaller streamers and the way she's help grow people in her sphere, i have no doubts in my mind leslie would make a phenomenal mother. she is ready.
When Fuslie explains her going from private to public: 1.) I've moved 10 times, and my last move was going to a new school my Junior year, so almost everybody already had all their cliques, so I never felt like I could fit in anywhere. 2.) In college, I went from Computer Engineering to Business Management, from failing Calculus I to doing pretty well and helping others out in Business Algebra, so I get that feeling from being low in a higher place to being high in a lower place (not saying that people who take one or the other any better than each other).
Just turned 20 and feel that pressure of wanting to get things done by a certain age but missing that feeling of being in the moment during my childhood.
Dr K talking about his kids recognizing his videos in TH-cam recommended section reminded me of the conversation between Fuslie and Peter (her roommate and another streamer) about how their kids are probably going to get bullied by their friends because of the videos of them online hahahaha.
I can relate a lot to the idea of wanting to be older as a kid/teen and now wanting to be younger as an adult. I also relate to feeling an immense amount of pressure to make the most of the rest of my youth. It’s really daunting to me even though I should know aging is something normal and something that was coming. I think it’s even harder to know my youth is fleeting but not being able to do the things I want while I’m young because of the pandemic. I don’t know... I think though, ultimately, later I’m sure I’ll look back and wish I was in my twenties again, so knowing that helps ease the pressure and remind me to appreciate my age.
This is a common theme in famous poetry and a well established near universal truth. Children want to grow up. Adults miss their childhood. Or at the very least, adults quickly get past the age everyone aspires to be and then wishes to go back to their 20s or something. At least not older than middle age, 40 or 50. “Youth, is the most beautiful thing in this world-and what a pity that it has to be wasted on children!” lol. "For you the next step's an adventure, for me it's a trial". I feel like nearly everyone can relate to that but the enlightened person appreciates that the nature of being human is to grow older and their are benefits like wisdom that only come with more life experience and often are linked to age and if you're grateful for what is and accepting of what is it helps regardless of your age...
I'm not expecting this to actually happen and I understand if lesie doesn't want to but it would be really interesting to see how she feels and looks out on life now that she's not following this "script" anymore. She's such a bright and fun presence andI really hope she's doing okay considering everything

Some of this seems like potentially life-changing wisdom for me. I have so many of the same anxieties that she has. I need to give this some thought and hopefully let it sink in.
I never really follow Fuslie but I know her from when she played with Pewdiepie in an Among Us lobby months ago. But watching this made me realize how much in common I have with her when it comes to the age pressure thing (minus having kids). The way her mind works is the same as mine. I'm 30 now and I've always been so scared to reach 30. It feels the same but thinking about the fact that I'm 30 now still gives me anxiety and I'm scared to get old and fat and die. I'm already gaining weight and I'm already having trouble losing it. So I'm really getting scared more & more. But I try my best to live in the moment. It's still a work in progress.

I find it interesting that someone who is doing something they love doing still feels like time is moving so fast.
I've been kinda miserable the past decade. It's been a lot of soul searching, but i didn't ever consider how time could feel like it flies by even when you're enjoying it. It gave me a new perspective which is neat

I perfectly relate to the age pressure. I'm turning 28 in July. I honestly thought I would have a good paying job and having my own place by now, but I'm stuck living with my mom as my younger sister is about to get married. I have also recently (although not now) had a bunch of health anxiety thinking a bunch of common processes of the body was cancer or an infection.
I feel that, I'm 26, no job, no degree and trying to get out of that shit
@@MyStratega I have a degree. Ironically I tried to rush it out as quickly as possible due to age pressure (and succeed, graduated after 4 years), but now I feel like I wasted 4 years of my young life that I will never get back.

@@MyStratega what happened was after I got my degree I failed to keep my skills up (computer science major), it's almost like I lost all motivation. It's kind of frustrating, how I can lose passion for something so quickly. (Part of it is due to me being on the spectrum)

It sucks to have a lot of people know you are attempting to accomplish something significant with your life, and for it not to work out. Can relate to this in a massive way. Told everyone that I was going to become a Marine Corps Officer.
I made it all the way to Brown Field couple months ago only to decide it wasn't the lifestyle I wanted to lead. It was hard because my entire family and everyone I know and loved believed in me. I even started to believe in myself, but then got there and realized it wasn't at all the noble and honorable path I thought it would be. So much I still have to unpack...
I doubt anyone will ever see this, and for that reason it feels good to write it all out here and vent about my experience a little. The number one thing to remember if you ever find yourself in this type of situation is that you can quit anything you want to if you feel it doesn't align with who you are as a person, but don't ever quit on yourself.
Doesn't matter how hard and depressing things become, stay strong and you will always find a light at the end of the tunnel.

When Dr. K talks about the flow state and the difference between "doing" and "being", it reminds me of something a very spiritual friend once said. He spent time wandering the country in a van and I got to hang out with him while he was going through my town. He said he has been going around the country and just observing people. He said there's a lot of "human doings" and not a lot of "human beings." It was an interesting play on words and I'm not sure if this was exactly what he was talking about but I imagine it's something similar.
Aw fuslie is so precious she the type of celebrity i would intentionally ignore for the 0.00001% chance that i can meet her in life and have a real interaction with her, because it seems she wants that and appreciates the genuineness of it too

When Fuslie explains her going from private to public:
1.) I've moved 10 times, and my last move was going to a new school my Junior year, so almost everybody already had all their cliques, so I never felt like I could fit in anywhere.
2.) In college, I went from Computer Engineering to Business Management, from failing Calculus I to doing pretty well and helping others out in Business Algebra, so I get that feeling from being low in a higher place to being high in a lower place (not saying that people who take one or the other any better than each other).
Just turned 20 and feel that pressure of wanting to get things done by a certain age but missing that feeling of being in the moment during my childhood.

Dr K talking about his kids recognizing his videos in TH-cam recommended section reminded me of the conversation between Fuslie and Peter (her roommate and another streamer) about how their kids are probably going to get bullied by their friends because of the videos of them online hahahaha.
I can relate a lot to the idea of wanting to be older as a kid/teen and now wanting to be younger as an adult. I also relate to feeling an immense amount of pressure to make the most of the rest of my youth. It’s really daunting to me even though I should know aging is something normal and something that was coming. I think it’s even harder to know my youth is fleeting but not being able to do the things I want while I’m young because of the pandemic. I don’t know... I think though, ultimately, later I’m sure I’ll look back and wish I was in my twenties again, so knowing that helps ease the pressure and remind me to appreciate my age.
This is a common theme in famous poetry and a well established near universal truth. Children want to grow up. Adults miss their childhood. Or at the very least, adults quickly get past the age everyone aspires to be and then wishes to go back to their 20s or something. At least not older than middle age, 40 or 50. “Youth, is the most beautiful thing in this world-and what a pity that it has to be wasted on children!” lol. "For you the next step's an adventure, for me it's a trial". I feel like nearly everyone can relate to that but the enlightened person appreciates that the nature of being human is to grow older and their are benefits like wisdom that only come with more life experience and often are linked to age and if you're grateful for what is and accepting of what is it helps regardless of your age...

I never really follow Fuslie but I know her from when she played with Pewdiepie in an Among Us lobby months ago. But watching this made me realize how much in common I have with her when it comes to the age pressure thing (minus having kids). The way her mind works is the same as mine. I'm 30 now and I've always been so scared to reach 30. It feels the same but thinking about the fact that I'm 30 now still gives me anxiety and I'm scared to get old and fat and die. I'm already gaining weight and I'm already having trouble losing it. So I'm really getting scared more & more. But I try my best to live in the moment. It's still a work in progress.
Watching these videos has taught me that I've been doing a dozen or so meditation techniques my entire life without even realizing it
