Prime Vocal actually sounds as bad as the built in denoiser and dereverb in Premiere Pro. The first version of RX from 10 years ago demolishes Prime. That's wild. On the other hand, Hush sounds WILDLY good.
Honestly really surprised me how bad it was. Hush is amazing, I used to be so anal about fan noises but it really has allowed me to record in a comfortable temperature 😂 love your videos btw! 🙏
I just wanted to let you know that I have been a fan of yours since way back in the day when you first started your Lucky Date channel. I was only 12 back in the late 2000s when you started. I'm so glad you're still here on TH-cam giving us your perspective on music creation. We also share a first name lmfao
I bought Brusfri from Klevgrand. It does noise reduction well, it works well for my room anyway which isn't treated. On sale just now for $29.99 . Thanks for your honest review I wondered about this product.
Definitely rushed out. There are much better options out there. I couldn't believe I could still hear the ac noise, that's crazy, every other plugin I've tried would have no issue removing that.
Bertom Denoiser is a great alternative. Its free, runs VST3 or AU (and AAX I think?), is zero latency and super low CPU. It has no artifacts unless youre absolutely abusing the threshold. Amazing plugin.
Hush is MacOS only. Which is sad. Will have to try VXClarity and whatever the Izotope tool is. Here’s hoping Hush comes out as a VST3 for Cubase on Windows …
I did a few tests before watching this and can confirm what you showed here. I also like most of what sonible has released so far... This one however, is certainly disappointing. I uninstalled it after about an hour of running tests.
When prime:vocal was released, I immediately wondered how its performance would compare to that of Hush and also Supertone's Clear. I love Sonible products, but I'll save some $ and pass on this offering. Perhaps improvements will come with future versions.
I was honestly baffled. I was sure I was doing something wrong, read the manual… worst Denoiser ever. Sucks because if the tools in this worked this could have been such a killer tool. I think they just rushed it.
It’s pretty disappointing. The spectral dynamics were exciting on paper but honestly nothing on this plugin sounds good to me. Hush is great, c-vox as well.
Just tested it, Pros: real time and works great! Cons: not even close to as good as Hush. Clear is a great plugin for real time needs but for pre-recorded material I would 100% go with hush.
Wow. Prime Vocal does not sound good. In the denoise demo you did the voice sounded almost resynthesised. Like it's not just bad it's dreadful. Hush beat it hands down.
It doesn’t handle video great but good enough for VO. Since I do mostly commercial VO, I’d say about 90% of the work I do doesn’t require video, client just asks for a specific time for a script to be recorded.
Damn that sucks! I’ve emailed with the developer before asking for a vst version and he said he will try and work on it. Might be worth hitting him up!

@@pluginhoarder Thank you so much! Really enjoying yours as well!

That’s so awesome to hear! I didn’t think anyone would recognize me after taking such a long break from the internet. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Foreal, I was really surprised
Which u recommend
Seems that hush is only Mac, is there a windows alternative?

Bertrom Denoiser is the 🐐
I am def checking this out!! 🙏
Thanks for this review! May we know what monitors do you have?
Thanks! I have two pairs. My mains are Adam S3V’s and my nearfields are Genelec 8341A’s paired with a 7350A subwoofer
or supertone- Clear, works great on deverbing. i use it in broadcast mixes alot.
Need to check this out asap!
Have you tried Hush also on singing vocals or speech /dialogue only ? Thanks for the video !
I have used it for both, thanks!
Wow! I've never heard about Hush before.. Thanks!
Enjoy!
1st fail for sonible, 2/10 is more than fair .... Totally agree
🙏
excellent review, prime:vocal sounds like a bad stem splitter plugin.
Thanks! Agreed!!

I don’t blame you, this plugin obviously isn’t ready
It also doest work as a VST and does not show as an ARA extension in Cubase. It:s dreadful.
Wow 😮
Never heard of hush, I'm gonna have to check it out it sounded great.
Hidden Gem! 💎
@@pluginhoarder I use Izotope RX but this looks quicker 😁👌🏾
@@pluginhoarder Mac only

Totally agree, the idea for this plugin is great! Just needs to be refined
I recommend supertone clear because you at least have a little bit more control and it runs as a vst
Will check it out, thanks!
Supertone is dope!
I really don't like FFT artifacts ...
Dude a simple gate would have beaten it on noise reduction, Thats either terrible or something went wrong.
I was honestly baffled. I was sure I was doing something wrong, read the manual… worst Denoiser ever. Sucks because if the tools in this worked this could have been such a killer tool. I think they just rushed it.
@@pluginhoarder nope...you didn't do anything wrong. I also tweaked it until it sounded best and the "best" I could get still had artifacts.
Sonible are usually amazing... this is such a shame.
If you want an amazing noise reduction/voice plugin, try Clear by Supertone
Trying Sonible because hush seems to be mac only
It’s pretty disappointing. The spectral dynamics were exciting on paper but honestly nothing on this plugin sounds good to me. Hush is great, c-vox as well.
C-vox is great!
It's sounds like you made your vocal 128kbps 😂😂😂, terrible lol
Hush is amazing...
It just works.
Supertone Clear is better than both.. you're welcome.
Checking it out today 🙏

@@pluginhoarder Is there a directml variant of hush? if a windows version releases, I'll be there for it.

Pretty shocking! I did not expect this from them.
Well, thats not very good! Surprised you use Ableton for VO work (you have a great voice, btw).
Thanks! I’ve been producing in ableton for many years so decided to keep it for VO work as well, works great 🙏
@pluginhoarder For some odd reason I thought it couldn't handle video, but I was wrong! So yeah, rock on!
It doesn’t handle video great but good enough for VO. Since I do mostly commercial VO, I’d say about 90% of the work I do doesn’t require video, client just asks for a specific time for a script to be recorded.
hush is crazy!!!
feels sad i'm an windows user..
I didn’t realize it doesn’t work in windows! Hopefully they make a version 🙏
Oops hush is only for mac
😔
honestly hush sounded amazing. and yes this new plugin is kind of trash
Hush has saved a lot of mixes for me!
I can hardly ever get a Sonible plugin to work
I love smarteq, smartlimit is nice too but the others have been misses for me.
@pluginhoarder how do you use smarteq? I do use smartlimit on my mix bus and turn it off before mastering
hush is only for mac
too bad hush is mac only :-/
Sorry about that :( is it true for the pro version as well?
@@pluginhoarder yeah unfortunately :-/
Damn that sucks! I’ve emailed with the developer before asking for a vst version and he said he will try and work on it. Might be worth hitting him up!
@ yeah, you can read about it in the faq section on his site.
He's not "ruling it out", but it seems to be really far away, if it ever happens... :-/
So disappointing
Expected so much more
