    it’s actually very disgusting that some people are questioning why she didn’t try to get away. she was deprived of sight for 23 hours a day, trapped in a box, and terrified of the fake company. she was absolutely afraid of her family or her being killed. absolutely nobody can question why she didn’t run away - until you have been in that position you don’t know how you would act.

    • @justinemot2282
      @justinemot2282 3 ปีที่แล้ว +114

      Stockholm syndrome is not a disease - it's a way of our brain of coping with the unbearable, to save at least some of our sanity. You hate someone, but you totally depend on them & you try to make your life at least a little more bearable... The nicer one is to the monster, the least monstruous he becomes. & one needs to make it genuine to work. So the victim brainwashes herself - & out of fear & habit may continue doing it even when out of that situation. At least this reminded me my dynamic with my step dad - who abusive towards me & especially my mum (not in a sexual way but mostly words & fists). Most of the abuse ended when i grew up, learned how to fight & kicked his pitiful butt.
