- The website changed over time and weirdly brought to a page with a security warning.
Because of this, I have received warnings from TH-cam and I don't want to put my channel at risk.
Go on Google and look for ''honda nav code''
The first website should be a ''my garage Honda'' something.
From there you will be able to do the same process.
Some people mention that they now charge for this.
You may also give a call to your local honda dealer, if they are nice, they should help you with that.

Yes!!! This is the best video/info I found too... Unfortunately mine is still taking much longer, as had already hit too many random buttons, so it thinks I stole mine. Have to undo the battery & try again now that actually have the code.
@@photographing42 I confused mine too once but thankfully just taking it off the battery reset it. I wrote my code down and stuck it in my glove box for future reference.

There's also a much simpler way to do it. It works for most Honda radios.
1. Turn on your car.
2. Press and hold the "Tune select" button for at least 5 seconds.
That's it, no need to enter the code. Radio would be back to normal.
I did it on my 2014 Honda Pilot and it works fine.
Background info:
When the "Tune select" button was pressed and held for about 5 seconds or longer, the radio sent a token/signal (we called it a handshake in techie world) to a receiving chip that checks if the radio was in the same vehicle or not. If the radio was in the same vehicle (not stolen and not installed in a different vehicle), the chip allowed the radio to function normally. The token was pre-programmed at the factory to the receiving chip with the code generated by the radio. Of course, if the radio was on a different vehicle it wouldn't work because the chip on the other vehicle had a different token programmed to the chip. It would get a mismatch, therefore it wouldn't allow the radio to continue operating normally.
Wow! That's awesome! Also my tips would probably not work if the radio come from a different car.

I done this one time and it worked, but I’m having to do it again and it says the website has expired, im not sure why it expired but it says that it could be a fake website, and I’m a little afraid to put my information in cause it asks for different stuff then you see in the video. Any idea of another website will work or if that website is still legit?
As a used car purchaser, for a 2009 accord, the formermer owner wrote it in a place you may look frequently but not know what it means.
if you see a 5 digit number written somewhere, but not know what it referes too, it may be the radio pass code.

I’ve tried a few times, correcting mistakes, adding/removing spaces in the radio code, and have made it to a message reading “data loading” for a while, now. :/
@@eartherinfire not sure what may be the issue, but follow the exact steps in this video. I hit the power button a little too early once and I had to start the process over. You get the six digit code from the radio right away…

Awesome! Many thanks for the simple, straight-forward video! Worked great, only issues I had were the buttons sticking and causing problems going for a clean code entry. Got to ErrE. :( Disconnected negative battery terminal and was able to start over. Buttons barely able to get the code in with only 1 error. Boom!! Radio is a rockin'! Thank you!! Now, time to get some PB Blaster sprayed into those buttons before they lock up completely.

Thank you!!! I bought a used 2006 element and didn't know what to do!!! But you made it easy!!! And for those having vin problems check the numbers could be letters I instead of 1 0 or O. There is a difference lol. I had a few issues entering my vin but once I got it right it was easy!!!!!

Unfortunately no. But you should be able to get the info with a usa zip code.
Actually do you know that to translate your canadian postal code to us zip code, you only use the first 5 character and replace letter by 0. So J2G 1F8 would become 02010.

Honda Website asks for a 5-digit zip code, but since I'm up here in Canada, we have 6 digit zip code and so I can't get the code on the website. Is there any other way I can get the code?
Hi Ken, I am Canadian to. There is an official way to get US zip with our version. SO first you only take your 5 characters, and you replace letters by ''0'' Exemple : J2G 3P5 become ''02030''.
Try this or any random US ZIP it should work. Otherwise you will may have to contact you local Honda dealer. I'm sure they will want to help for free.

Okay so it’s just not working for me only? I don’t understand how it’s telling me my vin number is incorrect when I am quite clearly staring at the vin number.
Sometime there is 0 and O... Very similar but different 0O.
Otherwise you might need to contact your local Honda dealer that should help you for free.

I have my code. At about 1:20 you made an error entering your code and it gave you "Err 1". Initially I made a mistake, too. However, after that first time I have tried several more times and I am up to "Err 8". Since I am afraid of permanently locking myself out, I am leaving my ignition on in accessory mode for one hour to reset it. If somehow this doesn't work and I get "Err 9", do you have any suggestions? I did exactly what you did after the first error but each time the radio goes back to "Code", as soon as I start pressing any numbers it immediately gives me another error!
Hi Floraline! Yea I did try this after I made the video. If you miss input to many time you wont be able to input code again... Until you disconnect your car battery for few seconds. 😉
@@HowToPM Thank you for your quick reply. I have also found advice to leave the accessory ignition on for one hour to reset it. I am doing that now. If that doesn't work, I am going to pull fuse #9 from the passenger fuse box since the engine compartment #9 fuse pulling did not work. If that doesn't work, either, I will do the batter disconnect. Hi... the VIN number is not accepting by the website... the error says " The VIN you entered is not valid. Please verify the number and enter it again. Valid VIN numbers use the letters A-Z and numbers 0-9, except for the letters I, O, and Q." can you assist me with it, why its not accepting.
Unfortunately, I think you will have to look with your local Honda dealer. Maybe just give them a call, they might get it without a visit... Maybe. Good luck!

I have a 98 Accord with same issue. After turning radio and car off and turning key back on, When I push 1-6-Power I get 3 beeps but no code. Any input on this problem?
Try to unplug the car battery for a minute and try again.
On older cars I believe you have to take the radio out, it should have the serial number on it. Or try to find the radio serial in your documents.
