@@xsleep1 Probably true. I guess I'm more responding to the idea that people need to be convinced of its usefulness. And at the end of the year the "consumer" AR/VR devices will be ahead again in resolution. (and I say this as an Apple Fanboy with a lot of Apple devices at home)

A developer would be stupid to develop anything for less than 5 million users. There's the problem, not that developers are miffed with Apple. Luke is right, it's a product for people that want to do what they do now, in a different way, but that is a niche market and the P3 issue might be a huge problem for content creators, which is the biggest market for this product at the moment, the mirroring at 720p is also a huge issue. I suspect a lot of these 1st gen VP's will be going back within 14 days and Apple will only have themselves to blame for launching a half cooked product 😏
@@jackdominiak445 As VR user I would say that VR\AR always loosing comparing to good monitor. Even if you have perfect screen in VR, it is still heavy and uncomfortable with very small benefits. It is cool novelty, but wears off fast. So if this is a use case then people will be disappointed. VR is good for VR gaming, for socializing, for 3D modelling
The iPhone when it came out DID NOT suck. It would suck to use it today but at the time it was the most revolutionary device I had ever used up till then.
No MMS messaging was brutal. The work arounds for texting a picture were not convenient. Couldn’t record video without jailbreak app. Stuff I was used to doing on my previous flip phone. The rest of the phone (3G) was great. The 2G network was stupid slow and imo was the biggest thorn for the 2g model. With ios 3.0, much of the issues were resolved. I hope that Vision Pro will be good enough to make it to a 2.0, I can’t wait to try it (didn’t order).
Regardless, it's still an opportunity cost of investing time and money (for it to be a legitimate business expense) into this instead of another potential topic/product. But as a high Apple-focused channel, I also don't see Luke having much of a choice 💁
It's a tax write-off for him: this channel is his business. From a business standpoint, he can't afford to wait for the hype to cool, the dust to settle, and cooler heads to prevail. Whether this thing turns out to be this generation's iPhone or this generation's Newton, Luke can't be late to the discussion.
You're wrong. I had a Nokia back then and the iPhone was a toy. There were no basic functions. I bought the first one only in 2015, because that's when it started to be useful. Previously, Android was much better.
Wow. That's nice and low res. Having seen 720p upscaled to 4K a lot already, even with the best algorithms it's blurry and unpleasant to look at for reading text. This reminds me of how Apple kept using the same old 720p webcam in their laptop products for about 12 years before retiring it. No wait they're still using it! For as long as the M1 Air is on sale, it's still got a camera dating back to over a decade ago. That's some innovation and bang for your buck right there 😂
I think the main problem not with Vision, but with all AR/VR sets in general. It looks and feels very strange and ridiculous. I agree, it's a future, but I feel it needs for years to accept this format like normal thing. For phones and computers it was so mush yeasy because they became "new" books and typewriters, but VR sets is a absolutely different experience
It's why I think the Bigscreen Beyond guys are gonna be hot property for all the big companies. Companies like Valve and Sony would be looking to try and downsize their VR rigs to that level, and other than Apple, I think those two are the only ones who can access some bleeding-edge display tech that can enable such a shrinkage at an okay-ish price from Samsung.
This actually feels like the moment when everybody was laughing and making fun at iPad on the TV show at that time. Not sure how the future will go, but Apple’s influence and appeal are indeed convincing after time changes.
The form factor is fundamentally flawed, correct. It's not a phone you can put in your pocket, it's not a laptop you can put in your briefcase or bag. You can't really properly interact with the outside world because it's strapped to your head. As someone who moved from glasses to contact lenses, I can genuinely say not having something resting on my face for day to day living is a huge boon. I used to break glasses all the time when I was playing live, which never happens, but was annoying when it did and that was £100 or so to replace not four thousand goddamn dollars 😂
I’m sorry Luke, but I fundamentally disagree. The first iPhone did not “suck,” it was revolutionary in how we reimagined how a smartphone should operate. It replaced other phones with clunky buttons, terrible software and UI, and gave us a touchscreen that did not require a stylus to use. Even the iPad replaced those terrible netbooks that were extremely popular during the time. The Vision Pro does not solve any issues people have with computing. A majority of people are just fine with carrying around a small and thin laptop with them everywhere. The only application I can see is gaming and entertainment. However, the 3D fad comes and goes every 10 years or so, this just seems like the next phase in that. Even then, there’s absolutely no way that having a screen attached to your face all day is the future of computing. The Vision Pro needs to be an accessory that compliments your computer, not a replacement for it.
Damn so you've already decided you need this. What are you gonna use it for? Gaming, watching working? I'd say you should at least wait for the next gen device. If the rest of apples storied history is anything to go by this first gen product will tank in resale value and the next generation will be twice as good for less money. This one has first gen written all over it.
As a dev myself I have so many ideas for the Apple Vision Pro. But I am in Canada. So I am out of luck. Just wish Apple allowed more nfc functionality on Apple Watch got ideas for that also.
Ideas, like what? (If you care to share generally.) Contrary to most here I’m thinking this will be vertical market only for the foreseeable future (YEARS)…. Engineering/manufacturing design, flight simulator, medical/surgical procedures, etc.
Nah most people had phones and mp3 player and even cameras in their pocket when the iPhone came out. Which was a relatively easy transition to a smart phone. Most people are not strapping something to their head…
@@riversidewriting I could be wrong but i believe it is a super small niche among consumers. Where are a smart phone made a lot of sense and made most people's lives easier. I can totally see something like this taking off in some industries but not to the level of the iphone. But thats just my opinion not really arguing here, this might be what changes the tides and gets everyone into vr/ar
this is not an iPhone moment.... because it's not affordable. The reason Apple won big with the iPhone is that everyone could afford one, and they wanted it. Leading to people shipping them from the US to the rest of the world because it was only available in the US. It would not have happened if the iPhone 1 costed 2000USD
It can only be because you’ve got more money than sense, Apple needs loads of Apple fan boys to buy these, I’m sure most will be returned in the first 2 weeks, you’ll be able to buy refreshed/secondhand ones with a 2 weeks, mark my words
Apple fanboys aren't returning shit. If it's good, then they get to be in on the ground floor. If it's a flop, then it's a collector's item they get to add to their "rare apple Ls" collection.

The iphone solved a number of problems that consumers had with the traditional mobile phone. These VR and Metaverse products solve the problem of plateauing sales faced by big tech.
I think the weight thing is not going to matter for most people when I got my quest 3 the first like 2 days I was feeling the weight but after that I got used to it and it feels fine
Great explanation of why you are getting the Apple Vision Pro Luke. Looking forward to you getting it and showing us all the pros and cons and what you think of it.
Ordered a 512. Might have been overkill on the 512 but was only $200 more. Would be super annoyed if I ran out of useable space quickly. Given that it went to 1 TB I figured there must be SOME need for space.
Hot take: The OG iPhone only sucks if you compare it to where phones are today. All the short comings you mentioned are valid but what the iPhone did better than anything else on the market was ease of use. No stylus, fluid scrolling, big easy to select buttons and intuitive gestures. 🤔 you could also use all of that to describe the Vision Pro for those that have used it. It feels magical. I know that sounds like hyperbole, but it’s not all you have to do is look at what you want and tap your fingers together. So if AR/VR is going to be a product category for the foreseeable future, Apple Vision Pro is the product that’s going to make it accessible to everyone not just hardcore people. As far as the price goes, there are three factors one everything at Apple is expensive, to there are zero compromises when compared to other headsets, that’s going to cost more, and finally this is just an opinion but you’re basically getting a MacBook Air M2 and as many pro display XDR as you want for 3500 bucks sounds like a deal to me.
Watching films on this ‘in a location’ looks awesome. My brother made an ‘isolation booth’ from a cardboard box that worked pretty great for how basic it was. Lay on the floor with box over your head and the ipad on top visible through a hold on the top of the box. And that felt like you were at the cinema.
To me it seems like "vision pro" only has 2 valid use cases where it is actually objectively better than a traditional screen. 1. When flying/taking a train. 2. When you want a home theater, but you're renting and/or cannot afford a 150" TV
There are two other use cases; 3) No limits on number of screens for Pros 4) Family memories the spacial video, will be big, especially for parents with kids
Didn't Tom Cruise envision this product in that movie grabbing at screens in the air. Hollywood script writers always tease us with products DARPA already have or know will become mainstream using remote viewers of the future
Ordered 512gb AVP for launch day. Nervous whether it will be great or meh. But thinking it will be similar to how I felt with iPhone 2G on day one-blown away to have full web browser in a handheld with multitouch and phone. Anyway, one way I am thinking about it is this…. It will probably be the BEST imaginable way to watch movies/TV (alone), better than ANY high end OLED TV home theatre. And we don’t think twice about spending that kind of money on a high end big screen for a home theatre.
MacBook Air M2 got the same M2 chip. You can have 2 TB SSD. Maybe there's no room for more NAND chips inside AVP? We don't know. But it's worth to point out that AVP is more restricted than MacBook Air M2. It can have 24 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD. AVP got 16 GB RAM and max 1 TB SSD. ...and AVP is a - PRO - computer! I don't care if it's on your head or not. It's restricted! Worse than a consumer graded Mac! So the solution? Remove "Pro" from the name! Then it would be fine!
Can't wait to see your future videos! I think it's very likely that "spatial computing" will be the next big thing, but we won't know until we see it develop. Unfortunately, given the components inside, I can't imagine the price ever dropping that much below $3500.
"The iPhone when it came out, sucked." - Disagree. I was there, it was mind-blowing - futuristic even. In hindsight - sure, I agree 100%. VP is a different beast entirely. Nothing screams innovation rather than iteration. AVP is an iterative product, it's not innovative in the way the OG iPhone was. That's not a bad thing, per-say. But IT IS different. The AVP is better compared to the Apple Watch. It lacked features, it was iterative - in that it was a big step (not a leap) above the competition. With luck, AVP will be the same. To me, this is the difference between Steve's and Tim's approach. Steve would have swapped in a M3 Pro (imo) and gone for the wow factor. Steve launched the iPhone with as much tech as possible (up to the last minute), Tim takes the longer (safer) path. Both likely end the same, but the "magic" isn't there to the degree it would have been with Steve. Don't compare this to the iPhone, for that reason alone. Compare it to the Watch.
Clipping the battery to the back of the headset ... might make the whole thing heavier. but might relieve pressure on the face and ultimately make it more comfortable. worth a try. The silver lining to the external battery is that it's easy to swap or replace.
I honestly think the most exiting thing about the Vision Pro will be seeing you review it . Small ears , not to tall and enthusiastic about many things Apple . For me as a tall chap with large ears this particular item is just another way I can bang my head on low lying structures , scrunch my ears up for far greater wrinkles than an air pod pro or the likes and pretend that vision is a superior sense than sound . Having said all this if it wasn’t for such tech I probably wouldn’t now be sitting on the greatest collection of music play list compilations , specifically tailored to my own tastes and bye my own hand along with many new musical appreciation techniques , only possible in the Apple echo system .
I wouldn’t say the original iPhone sucked. When it came out, we didn’t even know that a background was possible or needed, nor a front facing camera, etc. The first iPhone was absolutely groundbreaking and blew my mind. I wasn’t picking it apart on release.had a look back, obviously, the newest technology is groundbreaking and 1,000,000 miles ahead of the original iPhone. But it’s not fair to break out that comparison at the beginning of your video. It did not suck. It changed the world.
I don’t get why this video compares Vision Pro to the first iPhone. Even with inflation the first iPhone was not almost 4k dollars. The price will most likely scare a lot of people and if not many people use it developers won’t follow.
Is there like a "family mode" for when more than one person starts watching a movie? For example, 2 users each with their own Apple vision wanting to watch the same movie together?
Because it's your literal source of income, that's why. If you didn't buy it, you wouldn't get clicks at a key moment in Apple releases. That's why. None the less, I'll watch coz I like you 🙂.
Not ready for the mass market (it needs to be at least 1/3rd the size and at least 1/3rd the cost and at least twice the power), but as a developer I am juiced.
I think you have it entirely backwards. If you look at the original iPhone so much its design and UI elements are the same exact bones that Apple has iterated over 17 years. The iPhone did not come into its own until the release of the App Store, which saw that basic touchscreen interface become the gateway to so many things. From there the hardware was able to catch up leading us into today where Apple again attempts to create a whole new computing paradigm. This time though the Vision Pro is the iPhone/iPad template taken from your phone and brought forward in so many ways to just be your phone strapped in front of your eyes with enough cameras and positioning tech to make it feel like a transparent experience. Transparent in that they expect you to feel like this is bringing tech into our sense of sight seamlessly, as opposed to us curtaining off the world to attempt to see a though a 4k recreation of reality with an iOS interface slapped on top. Remember it is the same UI elements of the iPhone 1 that are coming the Vision Pro. But the Vision Pro comes with those 17 years of software engineering and hardware evolution out the gate. The iPhone was iterated on until the we have gotten to recent times, where all the innovation of the device is stagnated (a slate is a slate is a slate), and now the main changes we see our in better cameras, screens, and CPUs. The original Apple Vision Pro compared to the 7th of 8th revision (let alone the 17th) will be such a far cry from the simple comparison one can point to between iPhone (original) and iPhone 15. In fact, I doubt that Apple's future iteration of AR and VR will have any of the hardware cues of this first generation and will abandon the basic UI elements that so much represent on iPhone crossed with an Oculus question with better materials and 10x the price tag. Facebook can't sell the same thing for 350 dollars, so how does Apple expect to light the world on fire for $3,500? It is a product that makes sense as a first iteration, but the Vision Pro product line will not stand the test of time. It is a stop gap product while we again wait for the hardware and software engineers create a truly transparent experience for VR/AR seamless bridging the images and information out of the device into the real world. Instead of bringing our senses into the digital world and recreating our eyes with cameras and our hearing with Microphones and headphones.
I really do want to be an early adopter, however I cannot afford nor even buy one in Canada... I am very interested in this product and excited to see your coverage
Hi Luke, regarding the display. The reason the display quality is different than those of a Mac is because Apple has to settle for whatever displays at the size the Vision Pro can use. The Vision pro other than ram, cpu, storage , other components are not from MAC computers
I Demoed one for kicks, Tbh It was simply amazing. That being said after 20 mins of the Demo I was ready to get it off. Once its in typical eye glass form/weight it will take off.
I just don't understand how anyone can just drop $4000 on this with the lack of app support and without even seeing reviews first. It may well be the best product Apple released since the iphone, but even if it is I wouldn't bet $4000 on it before it even comes out. Even if I wanted this, I'd be waiting for gen 2 or 3 first. At least the first iphone was, at its core, a phone, that could be used as a phone, even if it was overpriced for that basic functionality. If you don't like the primary function of the vision pro, what's the fallback option? I don't see anything viable there. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see what the technology can do. I'm just very disappointed that we have so many questions that need answering even after preorders have opened up. If I was Apple and I had what I thought would be a hit product I'd want that in the hands of influencers, marketers, anyone that could get more eyeballs on it to show off the cool features. It seems to me this device may have had a troubled development though, if they're so unwilling to provide more information that they wait until after preorders open up to even say a little bit about what to expect.
Apple can't produce enough of these things, to have to do that and besides, the chosen influencers already have them, (like MKBHD, MRWHOSETHEBOSS & BRIAN TONG) but they can't release review videos until launch day
Excellent pre-review. I believe it will be a runaway success like the iPhone, when the price point drops below 2K like you said. Wait until they pair it with a macro camera. Microscopes will become obsolete! I spent years looking through microscopes and have the neck trauma to prove it. I eagerly await your hands-on review. Addendum… and when it is paired with a telescope? Wow!
the iphone was an evolution of a device everyone already had: a phone. So it replaced the concept of the traditional phone with a smart interactive phone with new capabilities. Vision pro is not replacing anything, it will fail because no one is using or needing any of these features in their daily lives... I think Apple knows there's no way this products will be Mainstream anytime soon so they priced it so high like a "tech for rich and exclusive people", it will end up like their monitors or Mac Pro, a device that exists but is not a mainstream used by "regular people"...
I wish we could just skip ahead in time to where these are just AR glasses that look like normal glasses or sunglasses. (GPS arrows on the sidewalk pointing to my destination while walking, grocery list floating in front of me while shopping etc).
Ok I'm an Apple fan boy and have been for a while. That said, Apple pisses me off when they make a product, charge an astronomical amount for it then say, oh you want to protect it, it will cost you $200.00 for a case. Good lord you would think for $3600.00 it would come with a case. Come on Apple, don't cheat those who following you.
Great video. I must admit I find it difficult sometimes to understand some tech journalists. You spent almost $4k on a device but used 7 out of 12 minutes discussing your reservations and anxieties about the device. Every possible or potential negative that could exist was covered. I’ve been a consumer of various goods over the years of “top selling” products and only Apple devices have reviewers reading scripts that feel like “terms of service agreements” within “CYA” videos. No other company, not with Tesla cars or Sony cameras, Dyson vacuums or DJI mics can leave reviewers acting like liability lawyers nervously babbling about real or imagined potential downsides like Apple.
Quick question: if one person buys it and has custom lenses because they are short sighted, only they can use it right? No one else could use it because of the lenses.
As much as I love tech and am usually an early adopter, this is quite expensive, and honestly, I think Apple is taking the piss. Close to $4,000 for an immersive VR experience mainly for consuming content? Nope. The price WILL be a barrier to adoption. Hopefully, the 3rd iteration will be half the price and pack more features.
5:47 my quest 2 with elite strap weighs at almost 700g so i wouldn't complain too much about the vision pro's weight and we also have to give it some slack that's it's a first gen product
iPad launched with iOS 3.2 - and NO MULTITASKING. a 9.7-inch Tablet where you could litterally only open a single app, got back to the home screen, another app, home screen and if you went to the first app again it would have to re-open/load itself. Couldn't swap between apps either.
The only thing people really do with VR is gaming, and the AVP does not even come with controllers as far as I know. And no, hand tracking gestures are not the same.
Nice try using the iPhone example there Luke, but the obvious difference there is that it's a phone. It was entering a marketplace that was growing, burgeoning, which was smartphones, and the main competitor was Nokia and their old Symbian OS models. In VR, it's a crowded marketplace but worse than that, it's a niche one. How many millions of PS5s have Sony sold, it's like 50 million or more. Yet how small a percentage of that have bought and used PSVR2? It's single digit I believe. Biggest current gen console and the VR is dying due to lack of apps (cos games are apps) and lack of interest. So launching a four thousand dollar headset is going to be the most niche of the niche. Apple Watch was lukewarm but still shifts units. This new Vision Pro might well be the first post-Jobs product to fully flop, leaving behind a lot of angry early adopters when they obsolete it out quickly like they've been doing with Intel Macs. Early adopters can wring their hands trying to validate their purchase all they want, but that doesn't guarantee it'll be successful. It's a gamble and should be treated as such - only throw onto the table the money you can comfortably afford to lose.
Neck strain after two minutes? That might be due to the fact that many people are used to looking down at their phones. Now we have to readjust and restrengthen our neck muscles. Be gone cell phone hump! I'm excited for those of you who have the means to get one. Unlock all its mysteries and enjoy your experience. : )
But can it really beat the Quest 3 as apple is relying on 3rd party developers and they will port the apps from the Quest 3 and right that is the headset to vent because of the prices and feature set for the money and the shear amount of apps as it has support for 2 stores and every software on the platform is either Mixed Reality or VR not flat apps which is point less and takes aways from the whole use case for the product
I'm not in the US so I'll be waiting for a while before I can get one (affording it is something else entirely). I can't wait to see what people do with it, what will the primary use be? I suspect entertainment will play a large role, from live sports to movies and concerts.
600 grams is awesome!!! The Varjo XR-4 I have is 1000 grams and has no battery. The Pimax Crystal with a battery 🔋 installed is 1240 grams. I’m even more excited for my Vision Pro to arrive knowing how lite it is.
My guess as to why all models have 16GB RAM is to ensure that all apps will be written to that as the minimum that VisionOS will ever have. I suspect future versions will provide additional choices.
Ehhh - good video but it boils down to "I believe this is something to support". Each point can be applied to any "new" device, platform, or idea. The posits towards Apple being Apple is solid - but it also shows that continued support of large pillars over new sprouts continues to support the lack of competition.
7:31 yes it's a first gen True MR product but it's seound after the quest 3 by a few months and is far from the first gen consumer XR device... Those were the Rift DV series back in the early 2010s.
I do like the product and the it might bring to the computing world in the future... but honestly, the price is a really hard pill to swallow though! Ohhh by the way, After the initial presentation during WWDC I feel tempted to become a dev for that platform.
I wouldn't have problem dropping $3,500 on it if I had a use case for it. But I really don't. I also wear a helmet 2-3 hours per day for 5 days+ a week. A heavy and hot full face helmet in tropical weather and I am OK with it. But half an hour in a VR headset in an air conditioned room, and I feel like I want to die. I also had a Sony HMZ-T1, which is much smaller than a VR headset. Absolutely miserable experience for me as well. A use case would be if it was a REALLY GOOD, light VR headset that worked on PC and PS5, with a wide peripheral vision with no unfocused spots on the side. Even though I use a Mac (Studio, M2, Macbook Air, iPad pro), there are no games or apps I would use, and 100% sure it won't work on PS5, and 99% sure it won't work on PC, so for me it's completely useless. If it was an AR device, and it would be the size of the Google Glass *thing*, then I would take it with a monochrome display if it was able to put useful information on my vision ...... how about speed, or people's names (I never remember), or directions to a location .... no missed call notifications please :) or every spam I get from my own service provider daily .... Just my 2c .... again ... cool, nice, I have ZERO use case for it.... maybe movies, but lately I barely get interested in a movie as much as sit down in front of a big screen... I just end up watching mostly everything on my iPad (12.9) with headphones... or my desktop 32'' ProART displays.... (though the HDR is horrid crap on them)

Yep. But I think he means compared to the devices that came after.
You took zero chance. You can write it off as a business expense. You can return it for a full refund. Or you can sell it on to someone else.
He will make that money back from the millions of videos he will make on it
Bingo. As Phil Schiller would say, "Courage".
FACTS
Regardless, it's still an opportunity cost of investing time and money (for it to be a legitimate business expense) into this instead of another potential topic/product. But as a high Apple-focused channel, I also don't see Luke having much of a choice 💁
4k is still a lot of money. Very little risk, but it is putting in a lot of time.
Luke: Apple RAM is over priced, and a rip off.
Also Luke: Just bought Apple Vision Pro... YOLO
The original iPhone did not suck! Maybe compared to today it does but back then, it was revolutionary.
You're wrong. I had a Nokia back then and the iPhone was a toy. There were no basic functions. I bought the first one only in 2015, because that's when it started to be useful. Previously, Android was much better.
Apple has updated their specs for Vision Pro. Mirroring is now limited to 720p on AirPlay.
That's some innovation and bang for your buck right there 😂
@@garydiamondguitaristit would be downscaled to 720p
WOW, that sucks.
Looking forward to your reviews. I’ll order mine in six - nine months - allow for some of the kinks to be ironed out.
You could still develop apps for the Vision Pro. Run it through the emulator in SDK.
Ideas, like what? (If you care to share generally.) Contrary to most here I’m thinking this will be vertical market only for the foreseeable future (YEARS)…. Engineering/manufacturing design, flight simulator, medical/surgical procedures, etc.
people have used a quest pro to develop things that are similar to how theyd be on the apple vision pro so you could maybe demo them on the quest pro?
Nah most people had phones and mp3 player and even cameras in their pocket when the iPhone came out. Which was a relatively easy transition to a smart phone. Most people are not strapping something to their head…
A lot of people use VR though!

@@riversidewriting I could be wrong but i believe it is a super small niche among consumers. Where are a smart phone made a lot of sense and made most people's lives easier. Good job. It will provide opportunities for interesting content.
this is not an iPhone moment.... because it's not affordable. The reason Apple won big with the iPhone is that everyone could afford one, and they wanted it. It can only be because you’ve got more money than sense, Apple needs loads of Apple fan boys to buy these, I’m sure most will be returned in the first 2 weeks, you’ll be able to buy refreshed/secondhand ones with a 2 weeks, mark my words

Luke! Really looking forward to you, demoing Final Cut Pro using Vision Pro😬
The iphone solved a number of problems that consumers had with the traditional mobile phone. These VR and Metaverse products solve the problem of plateauing sales faced by big tech.

Apple shipping a “spatial computer” without a calculator or support for actual computer software (Mac Apps)
Ordered a 512. Might have been overkill on the 512 but was only $200 more. Would be super annoyed if I ran out of useable space quickly. Given that it went to 1 TB I figured there must be SOME need for space.
What are you planning to use it for?
Congratulations on your purchase! Within a few years and costing the price of a car, it will arrive in my country.
I'm glad you purchased one to review, I'm looking forward to your video.
Wonder what the repair program will be :)
Given that AppleCare for this thing is $499, I'm guessing repairs are going to be insanely expensive.
To me it seems like "vision pro" only has 2 valid use cases where it is actually objectively better than a traditional screen. 1. When flying/taking a train. 2. When you want a home theater, but you're renting and/or cannot afford a 150" TV
There are two other use cases; 3) No limits on number of screens for Pros
4) Family memories the spacial video, will be big, especially for parents with kids
I am so glad that Luke brought this up because I didn’t order Vision Pro because it didn’t have full P3
Love this take, as someone who has already used the AVP. I think you’re looking to the future clearly.
Was it exciting?
Yes. Though as an Apple Fan Boy, I'd have been excited regardless.@@RVPissBoys
I went with the 1TB as well, I want no restrictions.
There's not even a 2 TB option :/
You are restricted to 1 TB…
The first rule of cooking is that if you want to make rabbit stew, you must first get a rabbit. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Compare it to the Watch.
thee pricing on this device is a crime, don't know why more people aint mad about it
Clipping the battery to the back of the headset ... might make the whole thing heavier. but might relieve pressure on the face and ultimately make it more comfortable. worth a try.
It makes perfect sense for you to buy one since your profession is reviewing Apple products and it is a business investment.
In fact it would be negligent for him not to buy one.
Thanks for doing this. I believe in Vision Pro
I don’t get why this video compares Vision Pro to the first iPhone. Even with inflation the first iPhone was not almost 4k dollars. The price will most likely scare a lot of people and if not many people use it developers won’t follow.
Its cope that it’ll have an even faster adoption rate than the iPhone
This thing is going to tank hard
I can't wait for your deep dive videos when it comes out
early :0 great content luke as always 👏
Is there like a "family mode" for when more than one person starts watching a movie? For example, 2 users each with their own Apple vision wanting to watch the same movie together?
P3 is a serious problem for creators, the screen mirroring is also only 720 p not 1080p, which is also a big let down 😏
The tech specs now say only 720p AirPlay mirroring?!
Thanks for reminding. Didn't see that coming. That's just really really bad.
I’m just happy it didn’t come with 8GB ram. I also ordered the 1TB & Zeiss lenses.
Apple can't produce enough of these things, to have to do that and besides, the chosen influencers already have them, (like MKBHD, MRWHOSETHEBOSS & BRIAN TONG) but they can't release review videos until launch day
You didn't mention if any special parameters around **return policy** of the AVP.
Wow!
why anyone will it use it though? I don't see the point. 2K is laptop's price, not a toy or iPad equivalent. And for me iPad is more usable
the iphone was an evolution of a device everyone already had: a phone.
Spatial interface that's what very awesome
It's tech sector reviewer cope, basically.
Quick question: if one person buys it and has custom lenses because they are short sighted, only they can use it right? No one else could use it because of the lenses.
You can swap them out as they attach to the actual lens.

The only thing people really do with VR is gaming, and the AVP does not even come with controllers as far as I know. And no, hand tracking gestures are not the same.
You can connect any gaming controller via blue tooth, although gaming is not it's market
@@jackdominiak445It will not work with VR controllers.

I have a feeling that the January event Apple will announce something big that will either be a launch day or coming soon app for the Vision Pro.
Hi Luke, what are your thoughts on the S24 ULTRA
Easy…. IT SUX….. and why you asking its not the topic and if it isn’t apple who cares?!

(though the HDR is horrid crap on them)
lol, are Orange accents synonymous with premium with Apple nowerdays?
I’ll check back in 10 years when Apple vision is just a eye drop no hardware no software, it uses your knowledge.
I rather it be a pair of glasses instead
@@Dave102693As someone who moved from glasses to contacts, I can safely say it's really easy to tire of having something over your eyes resting on your nose.
There are no google apps so far on the VisionPro.
