    I love CAT I get paid $520 in annual dividends but I have already made $1,700 selling a covered call strategically. That is an overall yield on cost of 12% since I own 100 shares at $180. Covered Calls on these quality blue chip stocks that have lower yields is a game changer imo.

    I've had UTZ ever since it started paying a dividend. I like the idea of being there at the beginning and seeing where it goes. So many of my blue chip stocks have been paying a dividend for so long that it feels like i'm jumping in towards the end of the dividend streak.

      $UTZ may eventually be bought by PepsiCo in the future. It fits PepsiCo’s growth strategy well and the small market cap is not a financial burden for PepsiCo.

      @@clath2823 they cannot, anti trust, they already own 50% of the chips in US. They would have a very difficult time passing regulations. I thought the same when I saw UTZ going on the stock exchange.

    Great video, thanks Ian!
    Personally I sold IBM a while ago and replaced it by TXN to keep exposure to tech, traded a lower yield for a better growth prospect and what I think is a better managed company. In tech, there's also CSCO or AVGO that I fond better than IBM.
    I also recently sold MMM because the risk is too high now imo.
    Love your work! ❤

    I recently sold 3 shares of ADP. 1 share was old, so it had nearly no capital gains. The other 2 shares were newer and in the negative. I moved those funds to 4 shares of JEPI 6 shares of SCHD.
    Mostly made this move to increase the amount of annual dividends and to further diversify my position.
    When the small banks started having issues, I sold all my small banks (including BOH) and moved those funds to VFH. Again, just to diversify.

    Interesting rationale for holding Ian. Imo if it were my portfolio I'd consider the following:
    BP -> CVX
    UTZ -> PEP (I'd also be tempted to hold on to UTZ as well)
    WMT -> COST
    IBM -> MSFT
    BOH -> V (or fold into SCHD)
    HAS -> dump

    I followed Ian’s earlier motto: never plan to sell any shares, and consider invested money complete loss and not worry about the portfolio value. With that, I do not sell anything. I keep buying new shares every single paycheck quite aggressively and do not plan to use my dividends to pay my living cost anytime soon because I want to accumulate > $100K annual dividends before I use them.

    Not a super expert on the matter, but I read a little while back that CAT was focusing on beefing up their parts and service offerings to reduce some of the cyclicality of their earnings. This could have impacted their performance through down periods recently. I was buying in the $120s and $130s during the pandemic sell off, if memory serves
