Fantastic, exactly what I was looking for. Ralph killed the booth review. Thanks for doing Hamcation.
absolutely amazing, I own none of these things but the craftsmanship and utility is amazing! Great interview too! Thanks for the video!
This kind of feels like it defeats the entire purpose of the 705. Still sort of small-ish, so maybe its OK.
it does a little but at the same time makes it so simple and easy to get running at 10 w and all in one bag i own a g90 and something like this would be awsome for it
This is a simple "open box and use". Without, you carry a bag of things probably the same size...
@@johnward7619 I only carry the mic and a tiny half wave endfed (par endfedz trail friendly). I use the built in battery. Works great. I have rails on my 7300 and a 20ah battery if I want to lug something with higher wattage around. If you’re going to boost the size, might as well run full power.
I have been watching his website…like the potential duplexer option…..once again Mike you help me spend my money
Slick set up for someone who is a bit accident prone like myself. I'd like to see a model without a battery because I have a Bioenno 6Ah battery at home I could throw in. I could go without the tuner as well.
I take my IC-705 out for portable operations and having something like this can save a lot of headache. The only thing is to bring a USB cable to do digital modes. Very interested in getting one, hopefully later on this year after getting some maintenance done on my vehicle.
I bought a green one last fall. Worth every penny. No buyer remorse here. I don’t mind anyone making a profit when the product is this good. Bravo.
That looks amazing Ralph. Hope to get one soon! Great video Mike!
OMG the duplexer option would be awesome!
Brilliant. How about a larger one for the Icom IC-7300????
That's what I was looking for.
Cerakote. He did not take any shortcuts. Nice.
Great products and nice, thoughtful people!
Awesome GoBoxes.....perfect.
Great prentation if you didn't or couldn't attend. I did get to visit the booth. Quality and workmanship is outstanding....Best though was finally getting to meet you in person after 2 other attempts....

Nice!
Look nice but no venelation or fans or exhaust to extract the heat built up
wish to get an enclosure for IC7300..hope to get your reply soon.
@8:00, why not have the VHF/UHF port on top. so we can use a 90 and an HT antenna, the the HF, lower, out of the way.
Damn. I’m gonna be doing serious wandering from the Begali booth at Dayton ;-). Nice video, Mike. See ya at Dayton! 73 de W8IJN
Lol I know it's hard to leave the Begali booth, but there's a lot of cool stuff out there.
Looks great, but there's one thing I don't like...why do you put the ground connector on top and the power switch below? Now If you connect a ground cable, it will lay over the power switch. I'd do it the other way around.
Nice job...
AWESOME!
Nice rigs
Do you have one for the 891 or the 817?
That would be awesome! I have the 891 and could see making a nice POTA / FT8 setup with all the digilink cables managed properly.
Nice but he should be making them like manpacks also. Like a prc-150. Provisioned for a 10ah batt, slim cut outs for a micropa50 amp, and the atu100 plus tuner. Instead of wide, he should make it tall. Much better for backpackers, etc... no email address on his website to share the idea, no phone number, I hope he reads this. Keep it tall and long for an ic705... PRC-705 😮
He only uses Bio-NANO batteries, er-um that is Bioenno batteries. So, $450 to $525, depending on which radio it is for and the battery size. Certainly they look very nice, but that is a whole lot of money.
Nice
You make me want one, but if I told you the price to get one here you would gasp. 😢 Also, I don’t own a 705 😂 Nice video
An IC-7300 or FT-891 (except for the interior battery) would be a better choice than this with a seperate small 12Amp lithium battery. These boxes approaching an underpowered QRP desk top radio.
How can you ignore the G90??
I'm sure the G90 and X6_00 will be on his next to-do list. One can't ignore how popular those 2 radios are.
Mounting might also be a bit thicker for the x6100/x6200
Wonderful story on where he started and where he's at now impressive boxes.. thanks for the video

I want to go portable with my Uniden SDS-200 scanner. I have about $900 invested in that receiver and want to take it into the field.
Any thoughts ?
SBF
Why did he use that old USB rather than a USB-C?
I'd presume he's using a pass thru connection to keep complexity low.
still way too expensive since they came out. A $50 bag from Amazon, a couple of plugs and the frame that can be made of many materials doesnt cost $450+
It's almost as if there are other costs involved in bringing something to the market.
@@brentsproc definetly there are costs to bring stuff like that to the market but not a 350% increase from the cost of components. Basic math.
Lol
Like we don’t know how low price of components can go when you buy in bulk LOL!!!!
If you say so.
Ralph, you are amazing.. Great product for your 705 !!!! Well designed and well built !! de N4WRW
too heavy and just add weight for QRP operation. Not a good ideas
