Want to thank you for your video series on the G7P. I've been out of the hobby for a bit and this radio is a bit more than I'm used to. Your videos have helped me immensely.
I know its an old video, but I just picked up this radio and this video saved me a ton of headaches. Love the radio, the documentation that comes with it is lacking. Thanks for sharing, its truly appreciated.
Great video, thanks. My g7p doesn’t confirm binding but if I turn it off and on again it seems to be binded. This works fine but I am having trouble knowing if I’ve saved new receiver settings- it says I must rebind after changing servo freq to digital, but I don’t know if it’s rebinding or just connecting again. Hope you can help, thanks!
@@WTFRCCars for sure I’m fairly new at this so it’s going to be a bit of a challenge to set up the dig and overdrive servos on the vanquish phoenix. Any suggested videos I should watch. I’m very much a visual learner.

@@WTFRCCars I will give it a try. I have had Spectrum and futaba radios before, but have not had the problems like this. Thanks for your reply!!! Harold
Hey, i have a question i receny got this setup. I put a bumper winch on. I bought a module that allows me to use the transmitter instead of the remote that comes with these little winches. I binded to TR1 which is 3 position. Winch works great however it is NOT momentsry. It reels till i place back to neutral. Can this remote use any of the buttons or TR1 specifically as a momentary so it stops when released? Cannot seem to find out how. Ive tried channel mixing but im so new to this i am probably soing it wrong or its not capable. Thank you!
Good video, I'm curious if you've tried the R7P receiver with a nitro car, it's not working for me. It won't control the servos no matter which port the battery is plugged into, it's got power, but no control. Works fine with my ESCs. I would guess it expects power on CH2, and shuts down the channels if it doesn't detect power on that port.
It doesn't care or know which port it's getting power on, my best guess is you have either a short on the servo power wire or the battery you have is the nitro is dead, I'd check the battery 1st, then try it with just 1 servo also you can power it from any port let me know how you get on :)
I've just tried the one I have with 2 servos and a lLiHV 2s pack as the receiver can run from 3.5v to 9v and it works fine power it from any port and it stays connected :)
@@WTFRCCars thanks, I messed around with it some more and got it working, I think it was the combo of a digital steering servo and analog? throttle servo with the radio set to digital that was causing it to not work. Not sure, but it's working now on analog with ANT 2-way, so I'm quite happy now.
Yeh the digital setting is too fast for some of the cheaper servos and they can't keep up, you get the same issue with the nb4 and pro if you run the digital setting as it's 400hz traxxas ESC can only cope with around 280hz, some servos will work but can't track correctly so don't work properly over the full travel, I have the pro running with 1000hz servo and it's fantastic.
Hey mate amazing videos .quick question I have the same g7p with the battery sensor tho my previous one broke I just got a new one I hooked it up as normal but for some reason it’s not reading the battery voltage it says on the sensor bvd 5.2v no matter what battery I plug and also the little red light on the module board of the sensor is blinking red idk what’s going on any help will be appreciated thanks ..
So in this vid I'm showing how to use the bvd voltage wire not the voltage sensor with the led on the small black box are you using bvd or voltage sensor ?
@@WTFRCCars unfortunately my battery voltage that came with the remote broke so I purchased replacement tho they came with the small black board that has red light …
i have problem when setting up G7P, after setting function for a button, it sometimes go back to not in use... Should i wait for new firmware or missised some steps to save?
Thanks for putting this video together. What happens if you do connect the positive and negative on the BVD to monitor the voltage on the battery that is powering the whole system? I know you’re telling us not to connect the negative if it’s for the main battery pack but you’re not telling us what will happen if you do. Does this apply to the Noble NB4 Pro as well?
Yes it's the same for the nb4 and noble pro, when monitoring the same battery that the receiver is running from - is not required as the receiver already has the - connected, if you connect the - pin correctly to the same lipo nothing happens but it's not required, if unfortunately you connect it wrongly to any of the + pins the receiver and possibly your ESC too will instantly be destroyed due to the short circuit this creates and so this is why it's always safer not to use the - on the main lipo, it's not needed and also damaging if a mistake is made, however on a battery that the receiver is not running from it will not damage the receiver if it's accidentally connected the wrong way round as it does not create a short to - hope this helps :)
@@WTFRCCars thank you for the clarification and also for all the helpful videos! You are the reason I purchased a Noble Pro and have been very happy with it. I came from a Futaba 3PK running a Spektrum DSM transmitter module. I can’t believe all the awesome features packed into the Noble Pro for the price!
When i first set this up, wanting my main Lipo voltage sent back for telemetry, I plugged in both + and - wires to my lipo balance lead. And that let out the magic smoke. I don't understand why, and also I don't understand what happened because everything seems to work fine. I get telemetry correctly and the car drives fine all 3 channels. Any ideas? Is it BAD to connect the negative in that case, or is it just unnecessary?
So when monitoring the lipo you are running the ESC/receiver from you do not use the - lead from the BVD it's not required and if it connects to the + by mistake it can burn up the receiver, only a battery that is not connected in any way to the receiver directly or through the ESC needs both + and - :) as for what caused the magic smoke without seeing exactly how you have it connected there no easy way to know for sure but - BVD lead to a + would do it.
@@WTFRCCars Maybe I simply did do that backwards hookup. I guess just count my blessings. Putting 3 more of these on my other cars today - that's for the helpful info and quick reply!.
@@WTFRCCars Actually one other part I was expecting to be able to put the BVD voltage on the main display screen, but it doesn't seem to be configurable. Have you seen anything in that regard?
