I blame Kayley for my intricate hairstyles I've been doing. Like I'm just going to work but I'm like "here's a braid, there's a braid, here's another braid, oh let's add a fisttail over here" and before I know it I look like I'm headed to a viking ceremony!
But I love doing and perfecting them and just in general being over the top with my hair!

I've been needing more hairstyles! Ponytails are giving me so so so much breakage. I just wish you would do more styles that get ALL the hair up, since summer is so hot!

Can we see some styles to get hair up without putting tension on the hairline? My hairline is sad from all the years of competition dance :(
Her ponytail routine from way back when is great for that! Basically you put all the hair from the bottom and back into a mini pony and then you take all the hair from the top and hairline + put it in a ponytail around the other one if that makes sense. Like a ponytail within a ponytail. That way the weight of all the hair isn’t on the hairline!

Yess! That’s a great idea. And I love doing that with my ponytails and buns but I still want other options to just get everything out of my face with out hurting anywhere on my scalp too much
I also recommend doing hairstyles low enough to put tension on the part rather than the hairline. (Ideally switching the part so no part gets pulled too much)

6:43 Anyone else have a bad head shape that makes any hat/scarf just slip off if you even look slightly upwards? 😢
You could try putting some grippy head bands underneath or a row of Bobby pins, or like if you want to commit and get crafty, put a little elastic around the edge so it grips to your head?

Kayley, thank you so much for mentioning the shading technique for the areas with thinner hair. I feel so seen. I have a lot of hair and it’s mostly think except for my temples where it’s thin and there isn’t much hair there anymore. I started feeling sad conscious about it but that went away when I first heard you talk about it. I don’t mind it much now and when I do feel like covering it your advice comes in handy. I feel like those details make all the difference between a braided style or bun looking harsh/tight/strict/ vs soft/comfortable/welcoming!

The comb over idea is so smart! I hold the pieces in my mouth but sometimes i drop it coz.. reasons.. & it can get frustrating when your weak arms are in the middle of doing their best.. Haha
