31 days before classes start is perfect time . If they ask you why tell them you need to find accommodation, familiarise yourself with the school campus and adjust to the weather & environment before starting classes.

Hello Sir I have a scenario here: I am going to study as an international student in Toronto in Sept 22, and I already have Letter of Introduction from the IRCC and my passport folio stamped (Category S-1) ready. However, instead of going directly to Toronto, can I arrive (say a month before) in Montreal, as my first Point of Entry, to visit a relative (with a sworn letter of invitation provided by the relative)? Will I obtain my study permit at the PoE in Montreal? It is understood that I would have all other necessary documents to produce to support such as LoA, my course fees, proof of payments for study fees, funds for CoL, proof for residence confirmation and payments, etc, etc. Do I run the risk of not being accepted? If such a situation occurs, despite providing all explanations and my documentary evidence are in order, what could be the outcome? Would I be asked to return to my home country , or detained, or could I be asked to go to Toronto to obtain my Study Permit? Please could you give me your views on this scenario? Thanks
