They're amazing! Robotic cars from a futuristic film here in London. And they're free. A geeky way to pass an hour but worth it.
So back in 2019 we took a trip to Heathrow T5 to ride the pods. One shaky phone video and 50,000 views later and we decided to launch Travels With Charlie. So that was all the excuse we needed to go back and try them out again.

This looks like an incredible way to explore Heathrow and it's fantastic that the pods are free! The idea of T5 Heathrow Driverless Pods is so intriguing, I myself have used this pod once when I parked my car at Express Parking Services and went from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5.
I guess one day it will be so normal but for now it’s still quite exciting

Wow. It's a fun ride. Does it operate 24hrs? Leaving Thistle Hotel at 4AM for a flight at 7AM, this will be convenient.
The website says it starts at 4am so maybe www.heathrow.com/transport-and-directions/heathrow-parking/heathrow-pod-parking-terminal-5 They’re fun but is anything much fun at 4am…? 😴
You have to pay to/from the Thistle.
Are they really free?
Certainly are free - the car parking isn't free but if you're just riding from Terminal 5 to the car park and back for fun...it's free. Definitely worth it if you're in T5 and have a spare 20 minutes
