      Absolutely ❗️
      I’d use a little alcohol and a rag. Do it while the radio is upright, not flat, so not too much gets into the speaker. The alcohol will dry fast,too.
      But next time I come, I can give it a detail😁.
      That radio would be well worth sinking the money into. I’d get it recapped, retuned, and gone through professionally.

    This radio has a design inspired by the Zenith Trans Oceanic ones and it deserves a good repair . I love vintage multiband radios and I dream to own a Sony CRF150.

    I just picked up one of these SUPER clean. The FM works like a champ but cannot get anything on ANY of the SW. You have the same problem, reach out to me--I have the manuals. On the rear left side of mine is a D Battery that I assume has something to do with powering the SW bands. Look under that knob--bet an exploded D battery is there if you haven't taken it apart to clean and already found it. The 'Utilization Guides' are fold outs that are found in that pocket. Absolutely zero technical information about the radio, more a how to short wave--it is not radio specific. There are three of them in Spanish, Japanese, Englsh/German share a sheet.

    • @hamrad88
      @hamrad88  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The shortwave band is no different than the rest of the radio. It is all powered the same. The D battery is to power the dial light. Right now you won't get much on shortwave unless you use an external antenna.

      @@hamrad88 If I have roof antenna for TV will that do anything, it's amplified at the source, but none of the poles are 18 feet long lol. I know it is not ideal for SW but better than nothing? Best way to connect it? I have can of deoxit on order, so on hold in the meantime. thanks for input. I will make a video.

    • @hamrad88
      @hamrad88  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevelibby6852 The TV might help a little but not much. What you can do for a quick antenna for shortwave is maybe use part of the TV antenna. It will depend on what kind of cable is used on the TV antenna.
