Congratulations, welcome to the club! This LC Carbine is absolutely AWESOME! The perfect overall PCC and soo freakin fun! Happy that you were able to find one in stock up there in Alaska.
The Ruger LC Carbine is basically a modernized Uzi, using the same type of "telescoping" bolt system and feeding mags through the grip. With a good SMG rig setup with a ton of mags, this would be handy little bullet hose.
And the uzi was a ripoff of a Czech pistol series.
I love ripping off older guns and remaking them with better technology.
@@FunkyPertwee Like the Stoeger STR-9 series of pistols that are Glock 19 gen 3 clones.
It's a nice carbine I support ruger making more 10mm stuff.
16" barrel on this is a great idea, so you don't have to hassle with NFA and pistol braces.
I like it! I’d like to see the velocity you get out of the 16 inch barrel.
The turkeys opinion has done some pretty damn good testing on it. Hope some manufacturers will come out with some slower burning powder to get more velocity out of the barrel length.
This firearm in a 10 inch pistol configuration would be at the top of my list of wants right now. For the more affordable PCC‘s the PSA AKV was the one my kids always wanted me to get. The price went up so much from when it was first introduced discouraged me and I have bought others instead. This is one of the ones that are on the table for our next purchase. Again in a pistol configuration, also with the foldable brace would be hard to passup.
Good video thanks
I kind of like the idea of these newer Ruger LC Carbines since they can be folded to take up less space while having the ability to be quickly brought into action(even while folded if necessary.) Granted Kel-Tec had this idea a long time ago. Though Ruger is generally of better quality. It is nice that multiple calibers are becoming available for these carbines. You favoring the AK, however, is something I completely understand.
Indeed! The folding is a plus!!
The song at the end I have not heard before. I have watched a few videos from this channel but not enough I guess. The song is funny. The content on this channel is no nonsense so it’s a good choice.
Hey thank you!
Very cool Chuke. Back in the day I had a Marlin 9mm camp carbine. The 10mm rugar looks awesome. Merry Christmas! 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
I had a bunch of those mags, they worked without a single failure in my gen3 g20.
For grizz country in the lower 48 I usually do a 12 gauge and a Glock 20. Im working to get a decent 8” Ar in .300 blackout as my chest carry and camp gun. Those supersonic 125 grain rounds are 1400 ft/lb plus all day, and in the lower 48 im equally worried about cartel and people threats while tent camping Glacier and the tetons for 2 weeks.
Smart. I never considered the two-legged threat.
Glad you did a video on this I asked a while back. Thanks, hope to see more
Absolutely and thank you!
Love mine too! Keep us updated on it! It ate everything I fed it except flat nose .40cal, which your not supposed to use anyway. It still mostly ran, just occasional ftf.
Also, Mcarbo has a trigger upgrade for not too much, gonna try it out next.
CMMG sells the mags on their website for the Mk-10 Banshee. They work well.
Has to be a brass pickers holiday in the spring or summer when the snow melts. This rifle is on my bucket list,,,waiting for academy to carry it or lgs gets one in,,,now not in stock……
Nice rifle Chuke, can’t wait to see you try that rifle magazine in a pistol.
Nice looking piece.
Great video Chuke !!!!
It's a nice gun worth buying
Awesome little rifle!
If you are going for compact carbines then may as well go with 300blk
That's what I say. Hell, you can get t 450 bm or 50 Beowulf in 10.5 inch barrels too. Leave the pistol calibers alone.
you know it does come with the m lok receiver for a forward QD ring and the sight adjustment tool
VERY NICE..... I WILL STICK WITH MY REM 870. ALREADY OWN IT. I HAVE A AK ALSO, NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT.
Got a buddy that lives in the orchards/hills, they occasionally get packs of wild dogs that go around killing people's pets, chickens, and goats. Helped him search his property and neighbors a couple times because local services don't want to drive out there and do anything. One of the times he handed me a Ruger PCC and four stick mags - as if all the ammo was needed to shoot some mangy dogs, anyways, loaded the carbine and stuck the other mags in a pocket and off we went.
Obviously, its nots the same thing, but if it were bear country having a handy carbine with 30rds of potent 10mm in it and another 90rds in a single pocket is a lot of firepower on hand.
Like you though, I'd also rather have my AK if bears were around.
Yeah ,got to get one of these!
I'm still trying to figure out why red dots remain more popular than micro prism sights. They are both equally effective, but with the prisms having the added bonus that the sight still works even with a battery/electrical failure.
Looks sweet but I think i would still go with a mossy 590 and slugs for a camp gun. Usually run a g20 and scar 17 but am interested in something a little less over the top lol
Awesome grab, kinda want one too!
I have the 9mm version and REALLY like it. Also have several 10mm hand guns so looks like this thing is going on my shopping list.
It’s a no brainer!
The LC Carbine is NOT chambered in 9mm. Try again.
@@pistolgrip44mag PC carbine and LC carbine are more similar than different. Try again.
I am a fan of the 7.62 x 39 cartridge but personally not the biggest fan of the ak. In my limited experience an sks is more accurate and just as functional. Still 12ga gets my vote. Tent/trail gun? 12ga. in my humble opinion.
As always, thanks Chuke.
Need a velocity video, I’d like to see how much more velocity you get over a G20 & XDM 4.5in.
Plenty of videos already out there showing this 👍
@@timg7627 so what we wanna see the chuke throw down
@@DR676767 just saying if you genuinely seek that information it already exists. If you just want entertainment then cool story, sit back and wait for a possible video
@@timg7627 I know, I was just joking, I’m sure turkeys opinion has covered this topic
The turkeys opinion has some very good video's about this, worth checking out.
Still, there's no arguing with your preference for the AK: 1) significantly more power. 2) A world-class history of reliable function in all temperature ranges. It's hard to think of a more solid platform of performance for a "specialized" "bear emergency" firearm. Maybe a SCAR 17s?
Question would you rather have an AR pistol 8 inch barrel in 5.56 with a penetrating bullet or a 10 mm carbine with a penetrating bullet ?
What are the tradeoffs for each ?
How each of these handle a black bear ?
How would each of these handle a grizzly bear ?
What would be your set up for each for both of these very different concepts if it was an anti bear firearm ? ( Optics, slings etc etc)
Is it sasquatch sunday yet?
Cool video
When I herd the sighs were plastic….I ordered a jr carbine.
Rock On !
Great vid as usual! What does everyone think about the LC 45 in 45 super, 460 rowland, 40 super?? cheers
How about a 300 Black Out?
Nice review!
Michael Herrell
I'd like a 500 S&W carbine.
Rimmed case
They do make a 500s&w carbine lever action.
Seen the cost of .500 ammo? lol
I think if I built a truck gun for bear country, I’d go with an AR10 Pistol with brace in .308 with a lightweight 12.5” barrel, red dot & light. Of course it’d have to be totally reliable. Otherwise an AK. 👍🏻
I wish you could get M&P mag wells for these. That’s what’s stopping me from buying
what makes Ruger Great are their cold hammer forged barrels but this is one of the few Ruger that does have it. why? i wonder who makes the barrel? i really wanted this when it came out but thats a deal killer for me.
Thanks!
Thank you Michael! I always appreciate you!
The best bear camp firearm is a Zastava zpap92 it’s compact you get 30 rounds and out of the 10 inch barrel it’s still as powerful as a 44 magnum
Chuke, whats your best recommendation for Sheep Hunting?
Exzacly 7.62x39 55,000 psi lapua brass vs 37,500 psi 10mm HANDS DOWN AK ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL THE WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!
Waiting for a pistol version.
What if you have AR rifle in 223/5.56, would that work? Its got more FPS in power.
Pleeeeeeze do an extreme penetrator test video as soon as you can. Great video as usual.
I’m getting that rifle
Not a rifle
@@Highgear145 it is legally a rifle. 16in barrel with a stock, advertised by ruger as an "autoloading rifle."
@@ethanarias2911 thanks my gun brother, obviously our friend @Highgear does not know or understand what a rifle consist of components etc.
Nice but I'll stick with my short 300blk.
You forgot to mention the price
Chuke, my wife does not like your videos because every time you make a new video featuring a new firearm I have to have one of whatever you are showing. Currently I have 25 handguns and 39 rifles and shotguns but mostly rifles. I always give you a thumbs up....but my wife never does. Keep up the good work !
I will stick to my Ak
Cool 😎☕️
Calling Mcarbo, Calling Mcarbo. Come in??? Mcarbo???
They have a nice looking trigger upgrade for this carbine, I'm gonna try it out.
Let us know
I've never been the biggest fan of carbines especially for any kind of defense, why not just use a real rifle round at that point?? 308, 6.5cm, 556, etc...🤷
Sometimes it's about other things. Training, fun, a carbine that uses the same mags, price of ammo, etc. in 10 mm though price of ammo is still gross 😞
The ballistics of 10mm from a 16 inch barrel must be pretty good. And you have one type of ammo, and this thing takes Glock mags. But I hear what you’re saying, I have a 12g pump with slugs in camp.
Agreed. Pcc for fun I understand. But for a campsite bear defense gun, I’d much rather a an ar pistol in 125 300 blk or 6.8 spc etc if being compact is a priority. A .308 mia, ar 10 fal etc. Or a 12 gauage if being compact isn’t so important.
Frugal on powder for reloading and you can cast your own bullets for 10mm.
In general, a carbine is a rifle with a short barrel, commonly under 20”. The caliber is really irrelevant.
👍👍
Hoochie coochie choo choo train 🎉, u got me lookin hard at the performance center 10 mm
Why couldn't Ruger just make the PC Carbine in 10mm???
I like Chuck’s banshee
Was waiting for this video from you 😂. Also offer it in 40s&w and 45acp also. Their so munch $ vers the hi-point in little late to the game
Pistol carbines qualify in uspsa competitions. Ones that don't Jame are a good thing. Curious 30 carmine's don't qualify. 10 mm is more than required in the game
For the amount of money they charge, you should atleast get half a dozen mags.
Great video, can't wait for the follow-up testing. Love Underwood, I carry the 10mm with Underwood Xtreme Hunter, and I'd be curious to what your take is on the Hunter ammo? Thanks and Happy Holidays.
Wrote this while pooping
Too heavy for a pistol carbine. For that much weight I'd stick with a rifle cartridge
10mm is okay in a pistol due to lightweight portability, but for a camp gun its mediocre. Shotgun with black magic magnums or a true rifle caliber will be much better. Not saying it wouldn't work just better choices for a camp gun.
Much better 10mm out there than this.
Lol.. sure bud.
10mm pistols are good because pistol. If you can possibly carry a long arm, 10mm is a weak lil bastard compared to a 590 with 1oz slugs or any lever action bigger than a 30-30.
I guess I’m a little old fashioned, why didn’t Ruger make the rifle look like a rifle not a wisbang pulsed laser in a 20 mili Watt range.
If you're carrying something rifle sized why not just carry a rifle?
Valid point. 10in charger version of this makes a lot more sense
Zombie killer😅
Mmm I did not have good times with those mags. I’ll pass. I’ve got a few kriss ones
Hard pass. The old tried and true Mossberg 590 mariner, 30-30 trapper, and 45-70 have been around and just are better tools. Sorry, but if I have to encounter defense from animals I want more than 10mm but thankfully I get along without taking such measures
Aren't you saving your brass Chuke??? How you gonna reload it if it's buried under the snow?
Not gonna lie... I want one of those so bad I can taste it. 10 mil is my thing... no, not THAT thing, my THING is much bigger than 10mm, but you know what I mean in a Joe Biden sort of way.
Ruger makes the best Alaskan guns. 10mm is alright. It's much easier to get a hold of 9mm ammo than 10mm, and they're about the same power with regards to bear defense. Everybody over hypes 10mm, but 9mm is statistically equal as bear defense.
Would not own it.
looks goofy, not very streamline and is too heavy for what it is.
Something similar to an M1 carbine but chambered in 10mm, 16” barrel, 5.5 pounds, takes glock mags would be 👌
A 10mm glock or sig m17 in 10mm, either sitting in a flux raider chassis would make sense to me. The ruger, makes no sense to me. Id rather have a ruger mini 30 at this point.
SMH ... Unity mount 150-180$ with a 58$ optic?
I just got home from the tool store myself, mine will be here next week.🫡
It comes with the exact same magazines that my CMMG Banshee in 10mm did, so I already have 4 of the 30 rounders, and a 15 rounder.👍
