I was born and bred in Delhi. At that time, we as kids were not allowed to play in the evening especially after sunset. Few years later, we had also seen the time when Delhi was under the horror of a witch in saree who particularly asks for Onion and Roti. And people started putting print of their palms on their walls.
Not only in Delhi happened in rajasthan too...There is a place called, "Mehandipur Balaji" so we were told that the "chudails" lives there it's a temple where they tie them so that they don't escape. But one made it and she is freely roaming around the city and nobody knows where she is and asks for food with the same roti and onion, So as a kid we were too scared and our family members started printing their palms on the walls not a normal one with the use of Mehandi. Year 2004-2005. Damn it was too scary.
We also had the same fear earlier(in east delhi ) When a rumor was spread that there is a witch who comes to the houses of some people and the one who spots her becomes a stone that day we ( the whole street and especially our cousins and we gathered started living together for 2 days ) And a belief that red pigmented liquid used for rituals ( mahavar ) could protect us so we did spread it across the whole street
I was 10-11 years old and used to sleep at the roof with my parents but after these incidents we stopped going out after 7-8 PM. We also had people at surveillance during the night with sticks.

I remember those days when I was living in delhi and studying in 2nd class. My father used to watch aajtak news. And this news was the breaking news 24*7 in that time. I also feared during the childhood.

I still remember this case. People in Kolkata were also panicked at a certain point of time. It was basically the news channels. We were stressed. My mother used to say to my father to lock the doors and windows tightly every night. We were also terrified. Now I feel all of this was bogus. But I remember this madness.
Really i am from Pakistan this happened to my cousin so in our village in summer we sleep outside our houses not on the roof but outside the house this same situation happened to my cousin he was in a deep sleep he felt like a terrifying looking monkey is sitting on his chest beating him he tried defending himself and the monkey looking creature fell from the charpayi and ran away clibming the walls and never seen again in the village
Its so strange that this happened in india as well it happened in summers 1990s i dont know the exact year but near this time period

I was born and bred in Delhi. At that time, we as kids were not allowed to play in the evening especially after sunset. Few years later, we had also seen the time when Delhi was under the horror of a witch in saree who particularly asks for Onion and Roti. And people started putting print of their palms on their walls.

Not only in Delhi happened in rajasthan too...There is a place called, "Mehandipur Balaji" so we were told that the "chudails" lives there it's a temple where they tie them so that they don't escape. But one made it and she is freely roaming around the city and nobody knows where she is and asks for food with the same roti and onion, So as a kid we were too scared and our family members started printing their palms on the walls not a normal one with the use of Mehandi. Year 2004-2005. Damn it was too scary.

When a rumor was spread that there is a witch who comes to the houses of some people and the one who spots her becomes a stone that day we ( the whole street and especially our cousins and we gathered started living together for 2 days )
And a belief that red pigmented liquid used for rituals ( mahavar ) could protect us so we did spread it across the whole street
