I love your Does the Fit Fit content! It’s very helpful. And I’m a huge fan of inset eyes and more articulation but these dolls are also really lovely and the extra fashion pieces are irresistible! I will likely be collecting all the dolls of both varieties.
Great video Toya! Like you, I’m definitely not okay with the surprise snacks being replaced by a ring that the doll can’t use. I’d much rather have mouse ears instead. While I like the quality of the hair on these Jakks ILY, I still prefer the original first wave dolls features. As another poster stated, the inset eyes elevated the dolls a bit. All that said, I did purchase all of them, including the VHTF Target exclusive Minnie fan.
I really loved the dolls before. Kind of wish they hadn't cheapened them the way they did. Honestly I think I would rather see these fashions in packs without the doll as an option. So if you don't like the changes you can still get all the cute fits for series one dolls.
Disney made a new ily4e doll inspired by Aladdin with inserted eyes and double joint and some fashion/furniture packs so they might produce new ones in the future too. These from Jakks Pacific look like a "spin off" of the original line rather then a replacement.
I saw these in Target the other day, at first I was excited because I was OBSESSED with Lilo and Stitch as a little kid, and the I ❤ Stitch doll has my same hair, but then when I saw the lowered articulation, the lack of the surprise balloons, and painted instead of inserted eyes, all for the same price as the higher quality first wave dolls, I noped right out. We do NOT reward companies lowering their product quality and charging customers full price in this household!

Not gonna lie...inset eyes are pretty awesome, so I'm sad to see them go, especially since I know many buy them just for the heads...but the extra fashions are pretty cool since they fit classic Barbie bodies. Mixed feelings all around on these. Lol
I’d love to know how the clothes fit on a petite Barbie doll. On your next “Does the fit fit” can u please add a petite to the line up of dolls? They a shorter dolls with smaller chests & hips so seeing if other brands clothes can fit them would be great

I’ve been waiting too long for her to review the stitch doll. Not a fan of the jakks dolls but some things I’d love to see on the Disney store dolls. I’m from the UK so we don’t have Jakks but my mum and I have friends in America so I’m so thankful to be getting the doll shipped to me ❤
I honestly love the Ursula outfit, the other outfits were nice too but they did miss the chance to make cute treats themed after them. I can go without the glitter rings though.

It’s a little odd (but understandable) for me to see people disappointed with the new wave, because like, I absolutely understand why the changes are disappointing for some people, but for me personally, they actually suit me so much better lol. As a doll repainter the inset eyes were actually a limitation for me - same reason I’ve never customised a Rainbow High doll. I don’t like how inset eyes lock them into a set expression for the most part, so the painted eyes suited me better. As well as that, the included fashion for mix and matching is great! It’s why I also loved the first couple waves of Rainbow High (and why I don’t like the new ones so much), because there’s an element of customisation without having to buy fashion packs, which usually end up expensive to get being from Ireland. As for the articulation… I’m personally not too heartbroken over the single jointed knees because the hips in wave 1 completely took away any chance I had of utilising the double jointed knee lol. They couldn’t sit down or kneel properly, so what good was a double joint? Just goes to show you that you have to know what you’re looking for in a product rather than just taking someone else’s positive or negative review at face value! I have my Ursula doll ordered and I’m so excited for her to arrive.
You finally found them and got them...YAY! When I told you I spotted them in Target, I didn't noticed that they were made by Jaks Pacific. I am disappointed in their articulation, eyes, unpierced ears, as well as not having the Mickey Mouse ears and balloon with food treat. I've been really excited for these since I prefer the painted eyes and being able to properly sit, but I can't quite afford them yet. I did just barely buy all those new clothes packs and the new boy doll from the Disney store. I don't love that some of these dolls are Target exclusives, exclusives make things really hard for someone like me who can't get out of the house much.
the ily 4ever dolls will still have the Disney store version and the jacks version and will be sold globally as the Disney store version only on the website or in the store, which limits the purchase of the Disney store version
I had trouble justifying the price of the first run of dolls, since all I wanted was the clothes, but I can definitely justify buying these, since the fashion packs cost $15-$17 by themselves. I especially want the Stitch doll, but I will probably get all four.
For the I love Mickey doll, I would’ve loved to see a feature with the sunglasses where they fold up into Mickey ears, kinda like the ones Lady Gaga wears in her Pararazzi video.

These werent made to replace the others. The Disney Store ones will still have inset eyes and the better articulation. These are just non-Disney Store ones. So dont worry.
I love the new ily dolls! I definitely prefer the balloons to the rings, even if we got duplicates. Your Mickey ears idea is a great suggestion! The double jointed knee was nice but I'd rather have the dolls be able to sit properly. I'm so glad these do that! And I do love that these dolls also come with extra outfits and goodies. I'm a fan of the painted eyes as well, for the reasons you mentioned. I get so sketchy about glass eyes lol I totally had the exact same idea for that mini binder thing in the purse! That was the first thing I thought of! Whoa, do I see a Bratz doll with articulation?! (faints) Mattel still beats MGA with that, though lol Regarding these new dolls' hair, I read that they have nylon hair, which is one of the two best for dolls (the other being saran). I love nylon hair. It's super soft and easy to style, and it tolerates heat really well if you want to use a curling or flat iron on it (just get it wet first to be safe). :D

I prefer the clothes most of all & would prefer if they would just make those available in a fashion pack. I preferred the first version and do not care for the eyes on the newer dolls, they seem off, also the hands seem large and disproportioned unless that is just me.

Losing the inset eyes and the mouse ear headbands was a heavy blow. The double jointed knees too, but I will say that it's nice to not have their legs falling off all the time. I'm indifferent to losing the treats, but hate the new rings. I would definitely have been happy having these outfits as fashion packs rather than on completely new dolls too.
EDIT: I just went to Target online and they actually have a buy one get one 50% off sale, which amounts to the typical 25% off state sales that the online Disney store has for their $30 ily 4ever fashion dolls. Happy hunting! 😁 As much as I love these Disney ily 4ever dolls, I am still very disappointed that we lost the extra knee articulation. I would think that the eyes and new hip joints would have come close to compensating the cost of the extra fashions, or at least have still allowed additional accessories. Painted eyes are cheaper than inset eyes, and the new hip joints use less plastic so there's a cost reduction there as well. 🤔 The ring is plastic, so I definitely would prefer an addition small accessory instead. Surely they know adults are obsessing over these dolls more than kids are, lol. 🤭 The first wave has much more athletic bodies, and that's why I prefer them (with the exception of the poor hip articulation). The legs looked so strong! Now they're more like typical fashion doll legs. And I just REALLY wanted the double joint knee. 😩 Oh, well. I'm still going to end up buying all of them, I'm sure. They still look like wonderful dolls. 💖

I prefer the clothes most of all & would prefer if they would just make those available in a fashion pack. I preferred the first version and do not care for the eyes on the newer dolls, they seem off, also the hands seem large and disproportioned unless that is just me.

The cute little girl who became friends with stitch should be included in the doll line-up with articulation included. She is a total little cutie. I hope Mattel or some other company considers making her with accessories and everything else.

Losing the inset eyes and the mouse ear headbands was a heavy blow. The double jointed knees too, but I will say that it's nice to not have their legs falling off all the time. I'm indifferent to losing the treats, but hate the new rings.
I would definitely have been happy having these outfits as fashion packs rather than on completely new dolls too.
EDIT: I just went to Target online and they actually have a buy one get one 50% off sale, which amounts to the typical 25% off state sales that the online Disney store has for their $30 ily 4ever fashion dolls. Happy hunting! 😁
As much as I love these Disney ily 4ever dolls, I am still very disappointed that we lost the extra knee articulation. I would think that the eyes and new hip joints would have come close to compensating the cost of the extra fashions, or at least have still allowed additional accessories. Painted eyes are cheaper than inset eyes, and the new hip joints use less plastic so there's a cost reduction there as well. 🤔
The ring is plastic, so I definitely would prefer an addition small accessory instead. Surely they know adults are obsessing over these dolls more than kids are, lol. 🤭
The first wave has much more athletic bodies, and that's why I prefer them (with the exception of the poor hip articulation). The legs looked so strong! Now they're more like typical fashion doll legs. And I just REALLY wanted the double joint knee. 😩
Oh, well. I'm still going to end up buying all of them, I'm sure. They still look like wonderful dolls. 💖
