Felix for one phone and unlimited data, and Boost annual prepaid for the other. Buy a $2 prepaid boost sim and then ask them to connect it to an annual prepaid type.
Tyres should always be as low a speed index as possible for the weight of vehicle for the sake of comfort, and H rated or step above that, for comfort and tyre longevity.
Your food expenses seem very high.
There are good battery, alternator and starter testing tools out there by companies like Autel, that will keep you out of trouble and help you plan vehicle maintenance instead of it becoming unexpected.
I assume you have a car starter battery charge controller so it can always maintain the battery?
Other than that, spend the extra and always put as high a capacity starter battery that will fit the dimensions of your battery mount. Always use an AGM battery as well.

Thanks for the comment! Wasn’t aware of Felix, I’ll read into that. We’ve since gotten starlink to have 100% coverage in Aus and so have been able to drop our Aldi plans right down.
In terms of food I did think it would be cheaper but we did have Julius’s birthday and caught up with friends that month which is where that would have gone. I think though a misconception about van life is you have to make it as cheap as possible, which isn’t the case. Don’t get me wrong, we’d rather us spend as little as possible but we also don’t want to be miserable haha!
Cheers for the other tips and tricks, will be sure to check it all out.

The van maintenance, although unfortunate was a one-off. But apart from that, the cost of living is still very affordable. Loved the content delivery though, straight to the point and concise. Cheers.

It’s all part of it I guess it’s to be expected. Glad you’ll liked it! We’ll probably do some more over a longer period to give a better picture of an average week / month
