Great job by the tower controller explaining what being an emergency aircraft means to the pilot. If I ever have a similar emergency, that won't be required, I'm taking the longest widest runway around... In an emergency, you get to be selfish, that's the one thing you have going for ya.
Amazing how polite that pilot was, worried that his LEGIT LIFE OR DEATH EMERGENCY SITUATION might present an inconvenience for other aircraft in the vicinity! Great job, pilot and ATC!
I feel like the tapes of this incident should be played in pilot and controller training. The pilot, controllers, and emergency crews worked together to ensure a safe outcome and they were able to do that because they communicated with each other. The pilot did a phenomenal job staying calm, flying the airplane, running his checklists and communicating with the controllers who went above and beyond to assist. As a pilot it's easy to feel alone up there, and it's easy to forget that there are humans on the other end of the radio; real professionals with skills and empathy who are willing to help if they can. All aboard walked away from a belly landing and the aircraft appears to only need a week or so in the hanger afterwards. Great job by everyone involved.
If this video was edited back in January, 425RT should be about fixed by now, and almost ready to fly again! :D Seriously, the image of the airplane at the end looks like they could just lift it up, put it on a flatbed, drive it over the hanger, and put it one stands. Probably need a new belly pan, a couple of skins for the bottom of the wing, a thorough inspection of the wing, ribs and spar. The prop doesn't look like it's bent, so maybe he shut the engine down and 'bumped' it, so maybe not even an engine tear down.

The only problem with retractable gear is that they do hang up sometimes. Great pilot and atc skills. Good landing :)
