    Your mechanics are very good. I would not have a fun time crossing you in WvW. Mind I ask what you played before Rev? My money is on thief. You have great split time reactions and always seem to have an escape plan/win condition before going in, or are really good at improvising.
    Anyways cheers great vid.

    • @ZaShaloc
      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your kind words! This was all cherry picked, trust me I die plenty hehe. But yeah having a lot of response to CC in this build makes escaping much more feasible, as well as the high mobility.
      Yup I was a Thief main like back in 2016 when I first started to get into PvP! The two classes definitely share similarities so it was an easier transition for me. Though I am beyond horrible at Thief now lol.

      @@ZaShaloc Haha I was right! 😅
      I think I've seen you a few times on Mag. I think your video reflects your skill level very well. Honestly you make me want to give core Rev a go. I've always been a guardian main but core Rev reminds me of core guard with a little bit more mobility. Looks fun!
      Subbed. ✌️

    • @ZaShaloc
      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChrisyBearTV @Chrisy Bear yeah that was me! Was on Mag for 3-4 years. :) I probably will transfer to the link once relinks happen because I miss playing with everyone.
      If you give Rev a go I personally consider core an easier starting point than Herald because Jalis is so comfy with the stab uptime you get. But I may be a little biased because I find the build so fun. I personally have never really given Guard much time at all. First time I ever tried power Guard was when Willbender came out and I was insta feeding lmao so maybe for another day. Not much of a multiclasser myself heh.

    awsome gameplay, i used to play core rev sometimes pre eod but not as well lol, wouldnt you do better adding dragon stats in the mix for more ferocity?

    • @ZaShaloc
      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! To be honest I haven't really experimented much with the build since EoD aside from running double cleansing now. I'm sure some Dragon stats could work nicely but I would be more inclined to take that if I were running Roiling Mists, which I never take. I am not crit capped on this build so I never felt the need to change anything. I could see it working though for sure. Tbh I am kinda lazy when it comes to stats and usually just use Mara/Zerk or whatever i have available, depending on what trinkets I don't have on alts lol.

      Alright so I got on and I am using a few varying pieces in the clips. Here you go:
      Head: Immortal Light Nimbus or Icy Demon Horns
      Shoulders: Raven Mantle
      Chest: Nightmare Court Breastplate
      Gloves: Requiem Gauntlets or Scarlet's Grasp
      Legs: Funerary Tassets
      Boots: Requiem Greaves or Ancient Canthan Boots
      Back: Antique Dragon's Cape or Canthan Spiritualist Backpack
      I think that covers it all.

    • @ZaShaloc
      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah you're not wrong. Speed Runes are for sure cheese, but playing solo it is my way of being able to survive way more than I should while still being able to play power. I also run Fireworks but I get tired of dying so much in outnumbered fights. Speed Runes at least give me a better chance to escape.

    Why core instead of herald or rene?

    • @ZaShaloc
      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I enjoy the playsytle of Charged Mists and Ancient Echo as well as the stab road from Jalis. It's probably a bit worse than Herald but has plenty of opportunities where it shines in situations that Herald wouldn't.

    • @henchnerd9404
      @henchnerd9404 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ZaShaloc ok cool can u give examples please ( for opertunities it shines where herald wouldnt)?

    • @ZaShaloc
      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@henchnerd9404 Yeah sure!
      1. I would say that taking Jalis alone puts it at a different playing field than Herald. Having big uptime on stab is really massive and you can get some really great damage reduction via the hammers and Dwarf elite. As you can see in the clips I am able to safestomp very often with the road, whereas with Herald you have to safestomp by using your Glint stunbreak, which is a big risk if you are trying to stomp while outnumbered. I wouldn't really take Jalis/Shiro on Herald as IMO it just isn't as strong as Glint/Shiro given the traitline synergy. As I mostly play solo, I get outnumbered a LOT which translates to being CC-chained. With Jalis, I can counteract that a lot and not play the role of a pinball.
      2. Being able to take Invocation, Devastation, and Retribution, which are all extremely strong traitlines. Most Herald roaming builds will take Invo & Deva and IMO it's a pretty noticeable damage decrease if you give one of those up for Ret or Salv. The projectile bubble from Ret alone is super massive, not to mention all of the weakness application you get. Also, Steadfast Rejuvenation has (IMO) better synergy with this build as you have both Ancient Echo and Charged Mists, which means more energy to be able to convert to healing via upkeeps.
      3. You have a really high energy flow with both Charged Mists & Ancient Echo, which means that you are likelier to be able to better respond to situations. One example being swapping into Shiro, being able to immediately stunbreak, and having enough energy to be able to either Riposting Shadows again, or use your other cooldowns to escape/reposition/counterattack. Another being swapping to Jalis, laying down your road, and then still being able to cycle through a lot of your dps cooldowns without running out of energy.
      Not trying to downplay Herald and say core is objectively superior by any means. There is a lot more nuance to it and there are plenty of advantages to playing Herald, but people seem to think of core as a total downgrade to Herald, which I think is completely false (in WvW at least). The most noticeable thing you are missing is the Glint heal (which let's be honest is extremely good), but at the same time you get Jalis heal instead, which makes condi matchups easier. You can't push downstates either with core to move them out of rez glyphs/signets, but those are a lot less frequently played in WvW than they are in sPvP.
      Hope that all makes sense.

      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FolliAF There is a balance patch next week on Tuesday so hopefully it'll give you a reason to log in. They'll probably release the patch notes this week. But yeah give core a go when you log in! It gives the class a really nice flow and 25 energy can go a really long way when you need it. Doesn't hurt that all the core traitlines are quite strong if running power.

    • @ZaShaloc
      @ZaShaloc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FolliAF I have a power Ventari vid from like 3 years ago if you wanna check it! Heh. But that was before the big balance patch and it's probably a lot less viable now. I'll swap Jalis off for Ventari sometimes on RBL to troll while defending but you giving up a lot by giving up either Shiro or Jalis because they are both so strong and have good heals. Vallun made a vid on a shortbow Ventari/Shiro Cele build which I have played with a lot. It's quite good and IMO the best way to play a dps Ventari build because Cele is so strong and the shortbow playstyle lends really well to Ventari.
