EVERYTHING ON MY S2000 IS FOR SALE!!!! Today I go over Shine Auto Vs. Real ASM Parts Sometimes JDM parts aren't all their cracked up to be, and sometimes they way outshine the replicas
To anyone watching this late to compare. Shine offers two different materials which are formulated differently. Both their FRP and Carbon products offer a "hybrid" version, which is intentionally more flexible. Not sure which ones shown in the video I am assuming it's the Hybrid one. For me, and anyone else intending to track their car or just drive it hard and low, I prefer flex over rigidity, rigidity equals cracks if you hit something. BUT, i don't believe that accounts for uneven thickness across the piece, that is something I do not care for.
The thicker the part, the heavier it is. ASM bumpers are not flexible. Shine bumpers are flexible, which is more important when it comes to durability. Authentic ASM front fenders also do not have a mesh because there is a cover that goes over the vent.
I ordered a bumper from shine as well. Came packaged the same way. One of my tabs was cracked because they didn't put any packaging in it. Their customer service is horrible too just an FYI. As I tried to email them in regards to the shotty packaging and cracked tab. I can send you what they told me, but in a nut shell, they told me to just deal with it...fitment was pretty decent though.
I think wrap will be less costly and more easier rather than painting. At least if you want to change its colour later on, you can wrap it again :) Try to find different colour so s2k may seems unique then. Btw how much was replica parts?

Really enjoy the S2000 content. Please bring them back. I myself own a Tacoma and will be picking up an S2000 in the near future. Thanks man 🤙

There is a guy in the PNW who has his s2k wrapped Emerald green, I'm probably going to go that route it was pretty badass.
Is the lip on the front bumper also authentic? Does it scrape at all?
Start posting again!! Was one of my favorite s2k channels
I will I will :)

Yeah, luckily mine came in good shape. Im hoping a wrap will cover the pitting and scratches so I dont have to do too much filling
Selling front bumper?
sold!
👍👍👍 have you gone back to the oem tie rods for track?
No I've kept the spherical tie rods, but I will be taking off the the angle plate.
does that mean you dont need to realign, been kicking around the idea of getting that angle kit before it goes out of production.
Eh, I wouldn't get it unless you plan to drift it. Ive had a hell of a time dialing out camber in the front because of the angle plates.
you should do what I have then and get a second set of knuckles and shorten the knuckle. I swap between my two sets without effecting my alignment.
I'm the other drift knucklehead from s2ki, smokey
Did you ever fit these asm reps at all, like to know how the fitment is.
They fit ok. But all fiberglass parts fit ok. Even high end stuff is meant for body shops to properly fit
is your shine ASM rear bumper fit good? Please let me know. Thanks
Yeah the fit was fine

The Shine bumper and fenders were like $800. So reasonable for what you get. I definitely needed the fenders
