I am an Afrikaner living in America and I haven't had this dish in ages. My oldest son is in the U.S army and just returned from a year in South Korea... He said mom please make some melkkos lol so i had to view the recipe to remind myself. So we will be having Lekker melkkos in the heart of Kentucky tonight. Lekker Lekker 😋

I am not Afrikaans so I never knew about it - I discovered it last year at Spar in Centurion

Your mom's recipe is fantastic, after some testing I found mixing in 4 to 5ml vanilla essence to the pot just before taking it off heat transformed the taste, officially my fav breakfast dish.
