I hit 2k on mine today and just cannot believe how capable it is in all situations (so far). I'm doing the WABDR next month, but have done a lot of off-roading with it and it's done great. I've also cruised for hours at 70-80, and it just has so much more power than I'd expect on a 692cc motor. I'm coming off a 1200cc adventure bike and I can say easily that the T7 is the King.
The anti squat thing is more of a side benefit of the engine that Yamaha used. The engine is out of the MT 07 road bike and because it has a stacked gearbox, meaning the shafts sit one on top of the other as opposed to behind the engine can be shorter allowing for a more compact engine and a longer swinging arm, so with this design the output shaft is higher. The draw back is the engine sits higher in the frame to allow for the sump and exhaust clearance which gives the bike a tall stance and a top heavy feel, swings and roundabouts, you gain one thing and lose another. I do own a T7, it is a great bike but I hate the top heavy feel to it and at 5’9” it is a tall bike for me, I struggle to touch the ground at times.
Great info! Out of all the other T7 videos I’ve watch I haven’t heard that yet but it makes sense. I didn’t really feel any “heavy” feeling one way or another but I reckon that’s due to normally riding Harley’s so the 400 some odd pound T7 could be thrown around like a toy. I will say though straddling it was a thing, and I’m 6’2 I can’t imagine being 5’9!
Hey! The only thing I've ever found is "The color of the rock - a yellowish hue - may have led to the naming of this cut after a Northern European country's inhabitants" but who knows the validity of that. Could be! The Tenere is so fun, it's a hard bike to get off and park at the end of the day
My T7--same color--is being delivered this month, so this POV video is juuuuuust what the doctor ordered.
Nice!!! You're going to love it, its such an amazing bike!

It seems to be the consensus that the T7 is king and I would agree it’s fantastic. The power to weight ratio with the anti-squat really shines.
Great vid Nate!
Thank you Carl!! Hope alls well.
Far-out man. Pretty gnarly 🤘😎🤘
Now I really want to take the Pan America out for a long rip!
@@NateBeck that would be super cool

Such a cool history story hidden off the beaten path. How in the world did you even find that?
Those stories are out there! Just have to stare at maps for hours then the fun part is hopping on your bike to go find them.
How does it do if you had to run down the 405 for a couple hours?
Solid. I took it on the 405 from 118 down past LAX in “rush hour” and it was fantastic. Slim, easy to split, enough get up and go to bob and weave.
Why is it called Swede´s cut? Asking as a Swede 🙂 Ps, The Tenere is awesome ;-)
