The new van seems to have given Ken a new lease of life. His delight of being all tucked up in a bigger bed and his mischievous grin about the scampi starter was great to see.
You must be enjoying your new Consort Van - they are really one of the best - And they do come with heating Ken - don’t forget how much you spent on the van - enjoy it and the new quality it offers 😂👍
The thing i love about Consorts is that every time i see one they do always look comfortable, such a nice place to be, eevn in bad weather 🙂 lovely video as ever guys, Trev Debz and Tyler x x
Nice seeing you both enjoying and getting used to your new campervan. No more condensation to deal with every morning, just open the screens and look outside and take your time to wake up 🙂. We have a similar setup in the couch/sleeping area which I really love. You both have a couch to relax on. So cosy when you’ve come out of the cold and put your legs up and rest against some cosy pillows and enjoy the luxury of the heater for some comfortable warmth….nodding off now and then 🥱.
A great start for Snoopy. Looks like you’ve worked out most of the kinks. Whitby looks like a delightful place to visit. I wouldn’t stay on that pier either. Stay with the diet plan, Ken! It’s worth it! Mary
Great to see you both enjoying your new campervan (Snoopy) in some lovely weather (finally). That clip of you nodding off in bed, perfectly shows why you have made the right decision to go bigger…👍 Enjoyed watching your footage of Whitby - somewhere close to my heart when much younger.
You can even make a small traditional man cave on this one, Ken. I liked Carols hat, hand knitted Norwegian. I did a research, yes Orkney Island and the Shetlands were Norwegian in the year 1450. Lots of Norwegian names on places there, like Stromness, in Norwegian "Strømnes". Reflection on going down in weight. The last thing you notice when you go down in weight is your stomach. The biggest challenge as I experienced is to challenge hunger. Try to eat food that keep your hunger away. I did a lot of eggs and tunar fish. I got fed up with that. I missed potato and pasta. But its all about what you eat you need to burn regarding calories. I did a diet only of proteins, like meat and no bread, potato or pasta. I dropped lots of kilo in a few weeks. It resulted in gout. To summarise, eat careful with small portions, but splurge sometime.
Interesting about the gout would have thought the opposite if cutting out carbs. No potatoes, rice, bread or pasta is hard to maintain for long but I’m still trying ☺️
Brilliant, thank you. We use what we call winter crocs for wandering outside our campervan and slip them off at the door, they're crocs without the holes in the top of crocs in which you slip your foot. The moulding around the heel is deeper. They're brilliant if it's raining or if you're walking in wet grass, and really easy to keep clean 😀 Whitby looks great can't wait to visit. It's a shame that the Council has changed the parking system. Have a lovely weekend 🚐🍾❤️ xxx
Absolutely no outside shoes beyond the step is our rule. Crocs or knock offs live on the van step tucked under fridge overhang (our van was a minibus so we have a recessed step inside plus electric step due to extra suspension/height) and I wear hand knitted merino socks as slippers in the van...can just slip crocs on. We're not clean or tidy types but that rule works! Still need to dustpan and brush most days too.
Lovely to see you out and about again Ken and Carol, Love Whitby it’s one of our favorite places especially out of season when it’s not too busy. Looking forward to more wild camping ❤
You can get a dustpan with a long handle (half the length of a regular broom handle) and a little broom to match. Sometimes they come as a set and the broom clips on the dustpan. It would make sweeping the floor a lot easier with no bending. Ah, watching more, I see Carol has got a broom with a telescoping handle. Well, done. If you can fill your water just before you Wildcamp, it'll give you better mileage. Ooh, those fish and chips looked tasty. I haven't had a good fish and chips since the local pub closed. It's up for sale, again, so I hope the new owners give the business a go. At least we still have the one restaurant/cafe. With a population of only 150, we don't have many amenities. Cheers, Jon in rural BC, Canada

And the little brown bear said, roll over, and they all rolled over...!! Great relax in bed. Easiest and another way to keep feet warm with hard floor surface... find a piece of old wool Wilton carpet, cut exact shaped mat to cover all area and have it edged will wool (the correct shape keeps it in place - can even put some underlay underneath - warm on feet, helps sound and easy to vacuum or shake outside). For tables & trays, get a collection of tea/table cloths (cotton/linen) or even place mats, help keep plates and cups steady and for any spills, just throw in washing bag, replace with clean one [find these in OP shops, as with other items, support local charities and keep out of landfill]. Napkins & serviettes, are very useful and can also be used to keep crockery and glass from movings in storage. Hi Carol and Ken The new van has given you both so many smiles, never seen you both so happy and quite rightly so. Whitby appears to be a lovely place, I think the last time we were there was sometime in the 90's over Easter. Anyway all the very best from the sunny coast. Regards Crawford
Forgive me for commenting twice, but watching again as I miss so much first time around. But this van is just spectacular. To see you eating at a table and snugged into a big warm bed, does the heart good. And you’re in England with more sights to see and experiences to have than you will ever have time for! And knowing after your hikes and adventures you’ll be coming back to your cozy nest in your beautiful new van! It has been a long and often frustrating journey to get to this point, but you chose so extremely well. Can’t wait till your next big adventure come Spring.
Hi Kids from Spain. Living at an altitude of about 2500 ft, we often get days like that in the winter, days when the cloud just wanders past the windows and everywhere is dripping wet.
When I was a teenager the best chippy in Whitby were the Nibblers then my stepdad found another one at the same time that was on one of the back streets where all the locals went. It was just a takeaway chippy but the best, the onion rings, the scallop potatoes, and fish potato cakes were the best! Brings back happy memories. I can't remember all of the street names but when I get there I know exactly where to go and all the back streets and alleys. I love Whitby! I was born in '68, I remember age 1 believe it or not, sat on my dad's knee and him bouncing me up and down whilst watching "Paint your Wagon" the lights went out and I started crying. Woke up to a loud sound, I know now that is when all the cattle fell through the floor. My mother was amazed when I told her this, she said how did you know I replied because I remember! I also remember other things like getting in the cliff lift and there was a Scotsman playing the pipes. Oh memories! Ps forgive the grammar I have had vodka! x Ps, the cinema was where the toilets are overlooking the bridge and near to the train station.
I love Paint Your Wagon. One of my favorites. I spent last July and August in the Eagle Cap Mts area near Sumpter Oregon where they filmed the movie. There are active gold mining claims all throughout the area. Gold dust sparkles in all the creeks its amazing. But you'd have to pan alot to get any value. Beautiful, remote country.
@@KDbbasm Great film, funny too and then I didn't know Clint Eastwood was in it, now I do, I love Clint in any film! Eagle Cap Mts sound lovely, wish I could see them for myself!
Mr Chips is the best chippy in Whitby 😊 Also unfortunately they don't land fish commercially in Whitby anymore, the exception is bad weather in Scarborough although there are still boats registered in the harbour.
Thanks for sharing your day at Whitby, the sea was rather noisy, the walk out on the wood pier looked rather frightening !!! did you walk back home uphill at the end of the day so as to work out the unhealthy meal (Ken)...? Keep safe...
I know plenty of folk (with good reason) don't like to buy from amazon, but it is very handy for a big choice of (say) cable reels which can be delivered to your next campsite - perhaps not your next wild camp!
Amazon has already killed the high street so that battle is over I think. I wanted to buy a camera whilst on this trip but simply couldn’t find any shops that had them actually in stock. That was in Leeds a major city. Getting more obscure stuff is impossible these days. The French managed to keep their towns alive. No idea how they did that other than they are smarter than us.
When I was a child, before my father had a car, we used to holiday at Whitby every year for a week, travelling on the train, to stay near the train station at a boarding house. The land lady was called Mrs Codling, funnily enough. We used to go to coincide with the Mackerel season. I detested fishing but my dad and older brother used to love it. Whilst they were fishing, my father tied me to the bollard with a rope, at the end of the outer pier, so I wouldn't fall in. One day going out to fish, when we crossed the bridge that took you over to the outer pier, the fishing tackle box came open and we lost half of the lures, hooks and weights into the briny, through those holes between the planks you don't like. Needless to say I wasn't very popular lol. Those were the days, no holidays in the sun then or cars for the masses. They are trying to take them back off us now ?
Love watching you in your new van. We get ours soon. We have a brush with a collapsible handle in our Kite. We store it down the table leg and use a couple of foam rings to stop it from rattling. And we have a couple of reversible, washable bath mats from Dunelm on the floor. We only put them down once we've taken our shoes off xx
Down the table leg! Brilliant. I am now down a rabbit hole of thinking what I can store in ours. The leg doesn’t need to be open ended both ends. Maybe contraband cheese when we go to EU next week 🤣
Is is so worth a little extra work, for a shower, POTTY, all the room.warmth, is so important. It is chilly and damp In The UK. To know you are safe, warm, and cozy is just lovely. I love love your van. Just adore it. I could even travel in it with claustrophobia Comfortably. Everything happens for a reason so glad this happened to you!
Thanks for sharing your walkabout in Whitby. The Abbey is so beautiful. And the town hás a lot to offer: seaside, narrow lanes, wee shops. Safe travels. Cheers.
thank you for your tour of whitby ,so much different to what i have seen on the tv before ,its now on my list ever growing list of places to visit and glad to see snoopy is becoming a part of the family
Emptying camper/RV waste is a lot different over there, than it is here in North America. Since we usually have built in tanks for our toilet waste, we typically dispose of both liquids using a very wide, flexible pipe, nicknamed a "Stinky Slinky"😅
@@LifeistooshortCK Did they mention that the MOST IMPORTANT thing about using the stinky slinky is MAKE SURE the drain end IS SECURE? So, when you open the drain valve and all that "stuff" comes gushing out, the hose does not pop out of the drain and spread stuff everywhere. That's why there is usually a big rock, left around nearby, to use as a weight for the drain end. 😨😳🤮
I use one of those rechargeable Swiffer vacs. It's small and I don't have to bend over so much. The soft paper thingies pick up light dust and there is enough vac for sand.
Glad your enjoying your van, lots to get use too, I was going to suggest going to bm for a brush I've got the very same one !! Also if your after carpets /runners try dunelm or home bargains , mine are rubber backed so don't move, brilliant. perfect width too, 😁x
Loving the name 😊 We have some stunning coastlines up here in the North with spectacular moorlands and hills. I hope you've explored some more while you were up here ❤
I have been to Whitby last year lovely place to visit I went to the abbey as went there as was on the way to north York moors to see goathland to see where heartbeat was filmed , are you planning to visit goathland.
Loved the views of Whitby. Been visiting there for many years and will be there in April courtesy of the NYMR from Pickering. Lovely part of the world. Thanks.
Ken, I’m so glad you are going on a protein, fruit and veg diet! I hope that a few months of that and your back will give you less trouble. Another thing that will help is cutting down on the amount of butter you use on your toast. Good luck!
Glad you are loving your new Consort, we got ours last July (Big brother - the Oslo). We have a long rally season ahead of us now (we love the rallies & they're cheaper), maybe we will bump into each other one day & compare notes ? Take care both of you.
@@LifeistooshortCK Basically in a rally field. No EHU but fresh water points, grey waste & elsan disposal. Very friendly people, usually a social gathering or two. Prices gone up this year (but not as dear as regular campsites) £9 - 14 per night. We love em.
I'd love to take Neil to Whitby. Many childhood memories! Gutted that the Lucky Duck shop was shut! Thanks for the shout out! We just did a little happy dance! N&Nx
Hello from California USA! I have subscribed again, now, from a second account. Happy to see you in the new van and glad you are taking care of your health Ken! I like to watch while I am editing my videos. All the best my dears. I'm 65 and love getting to see all you share!
My brother told me Whitby has the best fish and chips in UK. Your van is lovely. You both are so energized and renewed in your lives. Having such fun just watching you having fun!
Actually it was there already, when I went to include it. I map everything from You Tube as I’m listening. Thank you so much . Now I’ve just got to get through the fear of driving alone in UK
Lovely. You really can’t beat the full size bed can you. No wonder you’re looking so happy about it lol. So glad the weather picked up. Whitby is lovely but good weather always helps. We noticed you ended the episode before you had to make the climb back to the van lol. Pretty hard work innit! You obviously survived it though so well done!
Aww another lovely vlog Carol & Ken, I love your new van, in fact I think I spotted you when I was on a coach trip on 3/3/24 travelling from Lancaster to Hawes, North Yorkshire. You were stationary just off the main open road in the dales and had your head out of the drivers window looking backwards, just wished I was in my car, as I would have loved to stop and say hello 😊 x
Hi guys thanks for another great video that is a joy to watch I noticed you used spreadable anchor butter…I heard the normal blocks of butter were healthier to eat
Hari OM Well you did walk a fair bit and had to climb the hill back; carbs are necessary for such activity! I've got the heating cranked up in The Grey tonight as it has dropped to freezing again here at St Cyrus. Crazy weather... You do look all cosy and comfy in Snoopy! YAM xx
I've never been to Whitby but I sure do want to go now, thanks for sharing that it was lovely. We've got one of those brushes, brilliant for the van floor and I use the blade on the front windscreen sometimes. Happy travels
I'm really tall but still found it hard to reach the top of the windscreen, this does it just perfectly. We bought a cheap but nice runner to put up the middle of the van. Keeps your feet warm when you get up in the middle of the night to the loo 😂
I’m so happy to see you’re starting to look after your health Ken. Carol needs you. Xx

We both remember seeing Paint Your Wagon in the cinema when we were children! Vodka is good on a Friday night 👍
I am trying to find the film with Bob Hoskins in called Captain Jack. Filmed in Whitby. The chip shop is on silver st, if you ever go back.
Loving your new van. Whitby looks such a wonderful place to visit.
Thanks. It is 🙂👍
Mr Chips is the best chippy in Whitby 😊 Also unfortunately they don't land fish commercially in Whitby anymore, the exception is bad weather in Scarborough although there are still boats registered in the harbour.
We shall try Mr Chips next. What a shame the boats are gone. 👍
Thanks for sharing your day at Whitby, the sea was rather noisy, the walk out on the wood pier looked rather frightening !!! did you walk back home uphill at the end of the day so as to work out the unhealthy meal (Ken)...? Keep safe...
Yes we walked back as you will see 😁👍
I know plenty of folk (with good reason) don't like to buy from amazon, but it is very handy for a big choice of (say) cable reels which can be delivered to your next campsite - perhaps not your next wild camp!
You have a perfect van!!! We enjoy watching the videos!!! Be safe in the rain ☔️ 😊🌴🇬🇧🇺🇸🏴🏴San Diego fans!!!
Thanks guys. Greetings to San Diego 🙂
Some great memories there. Used to love mackerel fishing when I was a kid 🙂👍
Always great content, thanks for sharing and stay safe out there.
My favourite place whitby love your new van
Love watching you in your new van. We get ours soon. We have a brush with a collapsible handle in our Kite. We store it down the table leg and use a couple of foam rings to stop it from rattling. And we have a couple of reversible, washable bath mats from Dunelm on the floor. We only put them down once we've taken our shoes off xx
Down the table leg! Brilliant. I am now down a rabbit hole of thinking what I can store in ours. The leg doesn’t need to be open ended both ends. Maybe contraband cheese when we go to EU next week 🤣
Thanks for the tips 👍 Enjoy your new van 🙂
Is is so worth a little extra work, for a shower, POTTY, all the room.warmth, is so important. It is chilly and damp In The UK. To know you are safe, warm, and cozy is just lovely.
I love love your van. Just adore it. I could even travel in it with claustrophobia Comfortably. Everything happens for a reason so glad this happened to you!
The van is certainly very comfortable and easy to keep warm. We love it 🥰
You should get yourselves a splatter guard for the frying pan... 😊👍🏻❤️
Yes that would be useful. We might be switching to a deeper pan soon👍
Thanks for sharing your walkabout in Whitby. The Abbey is so beautiful. And the town hás a lot to offer: seaside, narrow lanes, wee shops. Safe travels. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Great video, thank you
Fabulous van!
Well done on the low carb-high protein diet! It's worked wonders for my health! Great blog, thk u!
Agreed it helped me a lot 👍
thank you for your tour of whitby ,so much different to what i have seen on the tv before ,its now on my list ever growing list of places to visit and glad to see snoopy is becoming a part of the family
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Awh,that finished too soon and i dont remember ever saying that before! Nice looking seaside town! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Emptying camper/RV waste is a lot different over there, than it is here in North America. Since we usually have built in tanks for our toilet waste, we typically dispose of both liquids using a very wide, flexible pipe, nicknamed a "Stinky Slinky"😅
We have seen the stinky slinky in action on a few youtube videos 😁👍
Thanks, will take a look at them 🙂
Looking forward to your lowcarb journey. We have had to change how we eat on road trips, it helps to be able to cook your own food.
So true! 🙂
Top vlog again guys! Loving the new van 😊
Thank you 🙂
Great video, love Whitby. 😊
Glad your enjoying your van, lots to get use too, I was going to suggest going to bm for a brush I've got the very same one !! Also if your after carpets /runners try dunelm or home bargains , mine are rubber backed so don't move, brilliant. perfect width too, 😁x
Thanks for the tips! I think a trip to Dunelm is in order ☺️
Excellent ❤. I sat watching you while I’m sitting in my van in Tassie in the cloud and rain ☔️ Love all the food stuff ❤
Oooh lovely. Enjoy your trip 😀
Loving the name 😊 We have some stunning coastlines up here in the North with spectacular moorlands and hills. I hope you've explored some more while you were up here ❤
We have in the past and I’m sure we will be back again in the future 🙂👍
Just catching up on your videos from here.Looking forward to them
Thanks Willie 🙂
I have been to Whitby last year lovely place to visit I went to the abbey as went there as was on the way to north York moors to see goathland to see where heartbeat was filmed , are you planning to visit goathland.
We were planning to visit Goathland but had to change our plans. We have been there in the past in our caravanning days ☺️
Whitby is a beautiful place. Lovely video!
Loved the views of Whitby. Been visiting there for many years and will be there in April courtesy of the NYMR from Pickering. Lovely part of the world. Thanks.
Sounds great! Have a lovely time 🙂
Ken, I’m so glad you are going on a protein, fruit and veg diet! I hope that a few months of that and your back will give you less trouble. Another thing that will help is cutting down on the amount of butter you use on your toast. Good luck!
Eat the butter, lose the toast and Guinness both have carbs...
Would I guess right you are at York beechwood grange campsite know it very well like the new van guys.
Yes you are right 👏👍❤️
You’re on your way with the new van! Exciting!
Glad you are loving your new Consort, we got ours last July (Big brother - the Oslo). We have a long rally season ahead of us now (we love the rallies & they're cheaper), maybe we will bump into each other one day & compare notes ? Take care both of you.
Yes say hello if you see us. We have never been to a rally. What are they like ?
@@LifeistooshortCK Basically in a rally field. No EHU but fresh water points, grey waste & elsan disposal. Very friendly people, usually a social gathering or two. Prices gone up this year (but not as dear as regular campsites) £9 - 14 per night. We love em.
I'd love to take Neil to Whitby. Many childhood memories!
Gutted that the Lucky Duck shop was shut! Thanks for the shout out! We just did a little happy dance! N&Nx
We would have loved to see the Lucky Ducks 🙂 Hope you filmed your happy dance for Instagram 😅❤️
Great video Ken & Carol thanks for sharing 😊
You’re welcome 🙂
Seems nice and quite, hardly any tourists, its really beautiful whitby nice vlog folks
Thanks 🙏
Great vid Carol & Ken 😎 Hope you both had a great Easter 😁
We’re good thanks 🙂👍
Hello from California USA! I have subscribed again, now, from a second account. Happy to see you in the new van and glad you are taking care of your health Ken! I like to watch while I am editing my videos. All the best my dears. I'm 65 and love getting to see all you share!
Thanks so much. Good luck with your videos 🙂
A perfect Friday night 😊 loving the new van xx
Lovely to see you wild camping again. Whitby looked cold but nice views. The fish was a bit thin looking. Loved the video great to see the two of you.
Thank you. Yes, the fish was a bit on the thin side. The sole of my shoe was thicker 😀
My brother told me Whitby has the best fish and chips in UK. Your van is lovely. You both are so energized and renewed in your lives. Having such fun just watching you having fun!
We still think the best fish and chips we have ever had was in Northumberland. Glad you are enjoying the videos 😀
@@LifeistooshortCK I’ll have to try that! I love fish and chips
@@marionjohansson4235 it was at Harbour Lights in Seaton Sluice, Northumberland 🙂
@@LifeistooshortCK thank you that goes straight into my map
Actually it was there already, when I went to include it. I map everything from You Tube as I’m listening. Thank you so much . Now I’ve just got to get through the fear of driving alone in UK
Loved the editing, especially the night to morning transition! Well done, mates!
Thank you 🙂
Whitby looked a great place to visit you look very cosy in the van I’m cosy in my static caravan first night of the season.Happy travels x
Sounds lovely. Enjoy your stay 🙂
We show that next week 😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK look forward to it :)
That must have been our doubles! Imagine their surprise if you had stopped to say hello 👋 😅
Hi guys thanks for another great video that is a joy to watch
I noticed you used spreadable anchor butter…I heard the normal blocks of butter were healthier to eat
They are for sure. Trouble is they get rock hard in the fridge and too runny if left out 😁👍
Hari OM
Well you did walk a fair bit and had to climb the hill back; carbs are necessary for such activity! I've got the heating cranked up in The Grey tonight as it has dropped to freezing again here at St Cyrus. Crazy weather... You do look all cosy and comfy in Snoopy! YAM xx
Not that cold down here. Keep warm and stay safe 🚐😀
I've never been to Whitby but I sure do want to go now, thanks for sharing that it was lovely. We've got one of those brushes, brilliant for the van floor and I use the blade on the front windscreen sometimes. Happy travels
Yes I will try that blade as it’s hard to reach the full windscreen. 👍
I'm really tall but still found it hard to reach the top of the windscreen, this does it just perfectly. We bought a cheap but nice runner to put up the middle of the van. Keeps your feet warm when you get up in the middle of the night to the loo 😂
@@lizwilson6633 a trip to Dunelm is on the cards in search of a runner 🙂
