Tell an amount of nouns in Thai with classifiers

Let’s learn how to tell an amount of nouns in Thai.
In Thai, you need to add a unit word or we call it classifier (ลักษณนาม) when telling an amount.
The concept is similar to “a loaf of bread”. You cannot say “a bread”. 🍞 Just in Thai, every noun has a classifier.
Bread = noun
Loaf = unit of noun (classifier)

ภูเขา puu-kǎo = mountain (noun)
ลูก lûuk = classifier of mountains
เบียร์ bia = beer (noun)
กระป๋อง grà-pǎwng = a can (classifier as a container)

ภูเขาสองลูก
puu-kǎo sǎwng lûuk
= 2 mountains
เบียร์หนึ่งกระป๋อง
Beer nèung grà-pǎwng
= a can of beer

It's been a very warm winter in Europe so far this year, so I'm glad you had some snow for your skiing ! Actually, ski vocabulary might be quite useful ? I often use Thai when speaking to non Thais in Europe (have you ever noticed this in Thai- European communities in Europe ?) I went to a wedding in Germany a few years ago and I had to use Thai when speaking to Germans who couldn't speak English. It's been a long time since I went to Switzerland 🇨🇭.
