I had two S330 break down within a 2 year period. Also many misses while recording, for instance after two minutes, the max recording time, it would stop recording and pick up much later. So missing a lot of the action. Picture quality also was not too good, although I now have the E340 on a Homebase 3 and that also doesn’t utilise the full quality. Eufy tends to be a bit deceiving on this part and very slow to fix. Also when setup to he HB3, thw continuous recording option in the menu disappears. It records 24/7 whether you want it or not.
Issue I have with floodlight cameras is that the LEDs wash out the face of the person being recorded making identification/use-ability harder or impossible.

Hello, I always get information from your channel. it is well explained. I have a question about this product. 24/7 continuous recording required Homebase 3 or MicroSD 128 GB will work without Homebase3 ? Thank you
Hi. I'd like to install the camera quite far away from my house where connecting directly to the homebase is not possible. There is however both wifi signal and power at the location where it will be installed. Would it still be possible to connect the camera / floodlight to the homebase via the standard wifi signal? I'd like to take advantage of the additional storage that the homebase provides, and having the homebase siren go off, in my house, if human motion is detected. Thanks for all the brilliant reviews!
I have maybe a dumb question. With the light switch off will it still record video. And if the light switch is off does the motion sensor still trigger the lights? Thanks
Would this be a good camera to put above my garage door? We are on an alley and our drive is only like 6' long. I currently use a Reolink camera to keep an eye on the area below the garage and the gate to my back yard. Would like having the floodlights and the tracking but could it always return to a position to cover the gate?

Love your work. Question I have, could one have this record continuously on both an sd card and the home base. My concern, if the camera loses Wi-Fi contact, one could still pull from the card. Thanks.
The older 2k floodlight cam’s light sensor was too sensitive and would not activate the flood lights at night when pulling a car into the driveway with the headlights on. Does the e340 have this same issue?

This video only records in 1080 and it’s a 3K camera! It also has soft yellow lights that are 2000 lumens…. The lights are garbage because high winds made be the flood lights around and you always have to adjust them. The higher model has 3 flood lights but the camera is only 2k not 3K like this model…. I returned mine because of the poor quality 1080 recording coming from a 3K duel camera and the flood lights move from wind… they definitely need to upgrade the products big time!

Excuse me, my power source for the camera is 5V DC, how can i get it to work without having to have a 220v AC power source? Cuz it comes from a battery bank that supply all my cameras with 5V DC BTW I don't need the flood lights to work only the camera itself.
@lifehackster can it switch from 2.4 ghz wifi to 5 ghz automatically to get best signal? If on 5 ghz wifi, can it still connect to homebase3 which is on 2.4 ghz wifi?
Big question I have before switching to Eufy... I have Arlo now and hate it but one of the things I do like is that I can have a guest added, so my wife can log in and view all our cameras. Does Eufy have the same feature?
@@LifeHackster i did that initially but I noticed that when a car is approaching my house it doesn’t trigger it . Only when I do all other motion it’s triggered by vehicles . Seems like vehicles is hit or miss so I left all other motion on
Feed electrical wire from hole in back in Eufy's junction box. Do not feed it through like in the video...that leaves the power wire exposed...and easily cut by a malicious individual. Stay safe ;D.
Got this cam over the weekend in many ways thanks to these videos ...I be honest, very disappointed ... it detects only things that are in the center of the default view. The our of view feature, does nothing. . Have you tested it? it does really nothing. This is a very sophisticated camera but at the moment, the 360 is good only for AI tracking i.e its gets into action only after something was detected in the main default view. I dont understand why they have 3 regions of with with active zone if it looks only at the default view. there is no way for me to know if this is me or the camera as there is no test modes..... the only mode for out of view, does not seems to work at all. (no beeps and red flashing light)
Yes, this floodlight cam is still in my front garage area. Out of view detection works good. You have to turn it on in the detection range option and adjust the sensitivity of the 3 PIR sensors.
Got it to work but it gives far too many false positive. It looks like the out of sight, does not respect the activity zone. that is to say, if it detect something, it will turn the cemera toward that direction (as it should) but then, ignores the "active zone" resulting in false positive rending the out of sight as useless. btw, even on the very low sensitivity/distance, it picks things across the cul-de- sak,@@LifeHackster I will get the Homebase unit and see if it becomes smarter or not...
There shouldn’t be much criticism from anyone about this one! It sounds / looks like a Reolink Trackmix without all of the noise, and with better audio quality. Seems like a winner for Eufy IMO.
Great review as always. Never understood why previous eufy floodlight cams didn't offer 24/7 recording considering it had direct power, maybe hardware or software limitations. This definitely looks like a great product had I not already upgraded to LED floodlights and installed the outdoor cam pro 2k (c24)

Hello, If I also have homebase 3 with this camera and want to use all AI functions and send notifications to my mobile, will I have to pay monthly fees?
Excuse me, my power source for the camera is 5V DC, how can i get it to work without having to have a 220v AC power source?
Cuz it comes from a battery bank that supply all my cameras with 5V DC
BTW I don't need the flood lights to work only the camera itself.
are the LEDs swapable?
What's the specs or type of cord needed to plug this in?

What screwdriver did you use to remove bracket for eaves mounting
Phillips head
@lifehackster what model is that Amazon echo show?
I have that same style of soffit. How, and why are you attaching the piece of wood there before attaching the camera to the wood?
This is because I use that area for testing.
@@LifeHacksterso you screwed the board to the soffit?

@lifehackster can it switch from 2.4 ghz wifi to 5 ghz automatically to get best signal? If on 5 ghz wifi, can it still connect to homebase3 which is on 2.4 ghz wifi?
Big question I have before switching to Eufy... I have Arlo now and hate it but one of the things I do like is that I can have a guest added, so my wife can log in and view all our cameras. Does Eufy have the same feature?
I have a eufy doorbell. My wife and I both have the app downloaded and have access to it!
@@jm_games4020 just what I needed to know. Bye bye Arlo! Such a horrible experience with them.
is this 4k?
How to get around recording every single bug that flies from 9pm - sunrise . Motion is set to lowest and range detection to 0 .
I only have human, pet, vehicle ON and all motion off and have no issues with bugs triggering it.
@@LifeHackster i did that initially but I noticed that when a car is approaching my house it doesn’t trigger it . Only when I do all other motion it’s triggered by vehicles . Seems like vehicles is hit or miss so I left all other motion on
How much memory comes with this camera please ?
You have to provide your own microSD card.
is this compatible with Homebase 2?
Can i also use Homebase 2?
Hi, new subscriber.
What size hard drive do you recommend for HB3 if I was to run 3 of these cameras continuously?
It looks like the out of sight, does not respect the activity zone. that is to say, if it detect something, it will turn the cemera toward that direction (as it should) but then, ignores the "active zone" resulting in false positive rending the out of sight as useless. btw, even on the very low sensitivity/distance, it picks things across the cul-de- sak,@@LifeHackster
I will get the Homebase unit and see if it becomes smarter or not...
Yes, can you please do a comparison of this with Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro and perhaps Eufy Floodlight Cam S330?
Will plan it... thanks for watching!
a comparison between this and the Wyze cam floodlight pro would be appreciated.
@travispeayarlal1485...Thanks for watching!
can you review ring stick up cam 2nd gen pls
Will do when it comes in.
There shouldn’t be much criticism from anyone about this one! It sounds / looks like a Reolink Trackmix without all of the noise, and with better audio quality. Seems like a winner for Eufy IMO.
Thanks for watching!
My only criticism is 15 fps seems too low
Where you did get that wire kit @LifeHackster
@@davidshaban8554 I agree, we need at least 30 fps. Eufy are you listening?
Excellent review. You've helped Eufy with another sale. Thanks for the effort you put into your videos. They’re the best.
I have the older flood light pro cam. It survived a super typhoon with sustained wind speed around 160 mph and gusts up towards 200mph. Now i want one of these to replace all my reolink that didnt survive
