Join me as I go on my first Fall Steelhead adventure! Turned out to be a pretty awesome day and I'm excited to transition into more Steelhead fishing. Expect maybe another Salmon video or two down the road from footage I had already recorded, but for now it's Steelhead time! In regards to that setup, is the line from the bobber to the end hook longer than the water is deep? So it could be dragging or drifting? It just doesn’t seem like it would be that deep in that spot
I’d say it’s close to 7-9ft deep at the deepest and it rises up to about 3-4ft by the time the bobber gets back to you. That’s why I set the end of my shot about 4ft below bobber

Would you recommend cleats down there or can you get away without them and still be somewhat safe? I go down a watch sometimes but have been a little nervous to get in since I don’t have cleats and just moved here from FL, lol we don’t have much fast moving water there!
Absolutely get cleats it’s only getting more slippery everyday from here on out. Also be sure the water is at a safer flow than where it’s at right now

Steelhead are my FAVORITE fish by far to target! Sadly, they closed Steelhead for most of the year and just recently opened up. Where I'm at, the summer run is typically the main run and they have a smaller winter run that's pretty fun, if you like going out in those types of conditions. Stoked to see you on some fish, man! Keep livin' that #tuglife man!

@@Chiefz PNW! Coming to you from the Columbia River Gorge! Agreed, there's something about winter steelies that just can't be beat! Yeah, last year we had the one of the lowest returns in history, basically across all fronts; Springers, Steelhead and Fall Chinook. This year was an amazing recovery when compared to last year. Fingers crossed the numbers stay steady and the fisheries stay alive!

Is the Craig I think it is?! I’d stick with something that offers scent like a spawn sac or dime sized skein chunks. The more clear the water is = smaller the presentation just keep that rule of thumb in mind
