HIs style change had nothing to do with his uncle, If anything roger tried to make him open up more offensively, Roger was an offensive fighter, and didn't train Floyd to be extra defensive. Floyd became more defensive once he moved up to 147 for a few reasons, first he had broken his hand multiple times which threatened to end his career because hand fractures usually keep breaking, and secondly he was fighting guys who outweighed him by 20-30 lbs at 147 and 154. He realized he couldn't KO guys that were 160-180 lbs, they were too big and too strong for Floyd so he had to depend on using a lot of pot-shots and countering in the pocket to win. Floyd had KO power at 130 and 135 but like most fighters, he didn't carry that power as he moved up in weight. By the time he moved up to 147 and 154 he knew he didn't have the type of explosive power to put down fighters who were walking into the ring at 175 lbs when Floyd literally only weighed 145-147 on fight night, that's why he stopped KOing guys it wasn't because of his training

    • @kmack92beast
      @kmack92beast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@trinidad510 If his style focus changed from offensive, with Roger, to defensive with his pops, how it didn’t have nun to do with it? Also his hands were brittle too so he stopped punching at will and picked shots like you mentioned. We’re both right. I appreciate your comment addition

5:23 if Pacquiao fought Floyd when he was "using steroids" I personally believe he stood a chance. Because Floyd would fall apart, any human would......... when he started trying to be more of a "boxer"..... after he got knocked out by Marquez that last time... it was over. He can never beat Floyd again. I know the one fighter who beat Floyd. Used to train me amateur. Augie Sanchez. Beat him in the Olympic trials. Then they did a second fight agter Floyd's sobb story in the news paper the next day 😆 then Floyd whooped augie. Augie went on to prince Naseem later on. You can youtube it. Anyway. Floyd, is the mf shit! You cannot beat him. He only gets smarter. He is 100% a machine.

Definitely not he's one of the hardest punching 130 and 135 pound punchers in history. He didn't ko people once he moved up to welterweight and Jr middleweight because his opponents were all way bigger than him, boxing isn't about power regardless though, it's about sharp clean punching and ring generalship. You clearly didn't watch Floyd the first half of his career, his first 27 fights he had 24 KOs, he was definitely a big puncher in his younger days and developed into a true defensive master in the second half of his career

Floyd no even close! look up Julio Cesar Chavez he was 44-0 when he lost his first fight and retired with 107-6 record. he was a good fighter for his time but boring af the only reason why people watched him is to see him loose cause he's not entertaining. Canelo is the only one that could whoop him 100% but mayweather picked all easy fights during his career and canelo was considered a young fighter at 23 and floyd was 36 with more experience. you wanna see the best example of why boxers pick easy fights look up Joshua vs Ruiz the most entertaining round of boxing!!

    • @ragnarok283

Who did he fought? Can you name one all time great name on his list? Floyd beat Pacquiao, Canelo, De La Hoya, Mosley, Corrales, Hatton, Maidana, Gatti etc. I can name at least 5 more big names on his list. Quality over quantity all day!

    • @TheRulerRoderickSutton

@@ragnarok283 quantity does matter. If Floyd fought more times, he would have surely lost. Imagine beating 88, 89 men - able bodied me - without losing. That’s CRAZY to think. Chavez did it.
Ray Robinson lost his first fight when he was 40-0. Then went on a 91 fight WIN STREAK. I don’t care who you fought. Fighting 91 men without losing, in a matter of about 7-10 years is NUTS!
Plus Mayweather is not even Top 30 all time when compared to the greatest by boxing experts.
Going 12 rounds doesn’t matter when fighters like Pacquiao beat the same competition but in 2 rounds.
      Levels to GREATNESS in boxing.

  • @TheRulerRoderickSutton

    To beat Floyd:
    1. GO TO THE BODY. It is easier to hit than his head because Floyd doesn’t move his feet a lot on defense.
    2. Punch his forearms and shoulders. You want to bring that Philly Shell down as low as possible. Plus his punches will be less accurate.
    3. Throw punches in bunches! You have to throw more than him, he can be more accurate.
    4. Have a great jab, great stamina, and decent defense.
There is a fighter named Errol Spence Jr who has all of these qualities. And as the story goes:
Errol Spence beat Floyd up in sparring. And everyone knows that Floyd fights HARD in sparring.
    🤷🏿‍♂️

    • @pleaseshush9800
