You could just watch Romeo + Juliette. Well, sortof. They don't change the language, but they change the context to modern times, in a rather funny way.
Yes, I learned Shakespeare rather recently and performed 2 plays, Macbeth and Much ado about nothing. I actually really enjoyed it and understand it with perfect clarity. Honestly, I read Shakespeare for fun.
+AtheistSasquatch some friends and I played Merry Wives of Windsor-Bissau (because one of the guys is from Guine-Bissau and we thought that using outfits from his country would be nice) The guys played the female characters and the girls played the male ones. It was the funniest thing I've ever done.
The problem with the way we teach Shakespeare is that we just have students read the script instead of putting it in context. The words make a lot more sense in conjunction with tone, inflection, and body language, i.e. when they're being spoken and performed in an actual play. Just reading a script to understand a stage play is like eating raw dough and canned tomatoes to understand what makes a good pizza.
Yes, that's why I show my students a movie adaptation and along with it deal with the script. It's academic snobs who just read the script in class and don't understand that Shakespeare wrote for the entertainment of the masses (he had to make a living of it) and not just for analysis among a small group of intellectuals.
I tried to see if I could make it through an entire glove and boots without laughing out loud, but obviously picked the wrong episode to attempt it. Finally broke down around 5 minute mark and couldn’t stop laughing until 2 minutes after episode ended. 😂
I just had a depressing thought. A few centuries from now, people might be using Johnny T's lingo for stage plays & needing to translate *THAT* into whatever dialect of English they'll be using! *[Shudders]*
I subscribed over a year ago. I haven't seen what I subscribed for since. This however. I was laughing so hard I woke my dog. This is one of the funniest things I have watched in a month.
What I find most ironic is that this probably would have been helpful to many people of Shakespeare's time as well. Shakespeare's diction was incredibly complex, most people did not talk the way his characters did.
+Limerence as someone who has experience in both regular school and home school. Don't. It's even more boring. Reason - You ain't got no friends to talk to there.
I didn't even need to watch the video to know how good it was. That title told me everything I needed to know. And Mario's appearance almost killed me. I had to pause for whole minutes so I could finish laughing.
I love johnny t and friends I'm trying to watch all u have, please don't stop making videos,I drive for supershuttle and pickup flight crew I share the airline etiquette with them they get a big kick out of it,they agree it's pretty acurate,I'm german i'd like to see johnny t's tips on attending oktoberfest, well keep up the great work-thanks-Annette.
You see, when a girl replaces her eyeballs with stars in her face hole and then starts touching her ass, if you take the initiative and touch her ass instead...that's what virginity means.
Dear Glove and Boots: I love you guys. I hope you kept the outtakes in making this. I would really like to see some of them in an upcoming blooper reel.
Oh I'm sorry forgot to comment on this video-I love it,johnny t is spot on,u guys should make a full lenghth movie,i'd be first in line for a ticket, sorry I'm hooked-I love yous guys!
Wanna know something more horrifying? Since there were laws forbidding women from acting in plays during Shakespeare's heyday, *all* female characters had to be dudes in drag! So Mario playing Juliet is just another historical accuracy bonus!
Johnny: "Goddess of the moon? That's gotta be like the most boring thing to be goddess of ever!" Fafa: "Well, She's also the goddess of virginity" Johnny: "I stand corrected." - brilliant dialogue there.
Now I want to see an actual Romeo and Juliet performance play out like this, with the dialogue and all. ROFL XD This is as brilliantly written as the Hamlet scene in Last Action Hero.
I would pay an ungodly amount of money to see Johnny T.'s interpretative reading of the entire play.
Yes, please!!
I wouldn't mind him just do the same for King Lear and Macbeth
I would pay for front row tickets
I deeply agree with you, sir!
You could just watch Romeo + Juliette. Well, sortof. They don't change the language, but they change the context to modern times, in a rather funny way.
"I don't understand any of this crap."
"What crap?"
"The old-timey word crap."
Remarkable quote by Johnny T
I lost it at "This guy's a regular Romeo. Ooooooooh! I get that now!"
"Holy crap, there she is! I love that broad!"
16th century literature is so romantic.
"I thought some fat guy broke through Juliet's window with a brick" haha! Good ol' Johnny.
I'd listen to an entire audiobook of Shakespeare read and translated by Glove and Boots
Maybe I should make one. . .
"Okay kids! This is what virginity means!" As my dad walks in the room and looks at me.
I hope students get to watch this before starting Shakespeare in class.
They don't teach Shakespeare in schools anymore Common Core dumb it down.
They still teach Shakespeare calm down.
yeah they still do
Yes, I learned Shakespeare rather recently and performed 2 plays, Macbeth and Much ado about nothing. I actually really enjoyed it and understand it with perfect clarity. Honestly, I read Shakespeare for fun.
I still do
6:10 "Are we talking about soft butts again?"
Talk about how shes putting her hand RIGHT ON HER ASS!
OH MY GOD, do I wish that hand had a glove on it... And that GLOVE was ME!
So... "I wish she had her hand stuck inside me"? Ban this sick filth!
;)
@@sirnarwhal9911you know, same
"Yo, this guy's a regular Romeo -- Oh! I get that now!" I had to pause the video here. This one had tears streaming down my face! 🤣
I can't wait to do Romeo and Juliet in class and show my teacher this video.
You should!
This is the closest I've ever come to understanding Shakespeare. Thank you!!! lol
Johnny T presents "Shakespeare at the Jersey Shore". Tonight's play: "Hamlet".
+AtheistSasquatch some friends and I played Merry Wives of Windsor-Bissau (because one of the guys is from Guine-Bissau and we thought that using outfits from his country would be nice) The guys played the female characters and the girls played the male ones.
It was the funniest thing I've ever done.
thats a nightmare
"Cop a feel..." I'm dead 😂😂😂
Hey Juliet...Romeo is basically a Peeping Tom.
"It does to dead English People!" LOLOLOLOL
Glove and Boots, you guys always make great videos! I am so happy to see a new video from you guys today! Thanks for always making me laugh! :)
Yesees glove and boots! Keep going! More vids! Mooooore

This is why I wished more schools studied in books that have the old english and modern english so students could understand.
Yes, that's why I show my students a movie adaptation and along with it deal with the script. It's academic snobs who just read the script in class and don't understand that Shakespeare wrote for the entertainment of the masses (he had to make a living of it) and not just for analysis among a small group of intellectuals.
Just when it can't get any funnier, I hear "Romeo! Romeo! Where art thou Romeo!"
johnny t is my spirit animal
glad to see Johnny t again
"Kids, this is what virginity is..."
This video started off slow, but once they got rolling, it got funnier.
I tried to see if I could make it through an entire glove and boots without laughing out loud, but obviously picked the wrong episode to attempt it. Finally broke down around 5 minute mark and couldn’t stop laughing until 2 minutes after episode ended. 😂
Id like to thank my english teacher for bringing me to this HILARIOUS CHANNEL I FUGGIN LOVE YOU GUYS
You gotta do more of this. Perhaps you can explain Sophocles.
Ya gotta do it.
+Jessica Huang ya gotta

yagottadomoreadiss
They should do Machiavelli
I just had a depressing thought. A few centuries from now, people might be using Johnny T's lingo for stage plays & needing to translate *THAT* into whatever dialect of English they'll be using! *[Shudders]*
+Caroline Miller Oh God, that is *WORSE!*
That's the future's problem not ours
+VarietyTube "that's a problem for future Homer, man I don't envy that guy. "
Homer Simpson
+Daniel Brant no prob you already have a robot sticking out its middle finger at people :3
It's 2016 and we're already trying to decipher episodes of Jersey Shore.
Romeo and Juliet is a play about people wanting to do illegal things and saying it'll be fun
true
So basically the story is a Yolo story
They are also twelve years old.
She is :) He is way older than she. Oh and they know each other for about three days! Love of their lives, on which they decide to kill themselves xD
It's a play about adults being stubborn pricks and young people being freaking idiots.
Good god, do more of these. This is incredible.
I subscribed over a year ago. I haven't seen what I subscribed for since. This however. I was laughing so hard I woke my dog. This is one of the funniest things I have watched in a month.
YAS!!!! As an acting student, I greatly appreciate this video 😅😅😅
I would watch Johnny T Shakespeare all day.
Johnny T is so hilarious , I love him.
This. Is. INCREDIBLE. I'm so happy you guys are back.
What I find most ironic is that this probably would have been helpful to many people of Shakespeare's time as well. Shakespeare's diction was incredibly complex, most people did not talk the way his characters did.
This is actually what I am studying.
I am homeschooled so I can watch my favorite Buds while learning.
Education for the win!
Oh God I wish I didn't have to go to school!
+Limerence as someone who has experience in both regular school and home school. Don't. It's even more boring. Reason - You ain't got no friends to talk to there.
***** Yeah. Homeschool is very lonely but I am an introvert so I am perfectly fine with that.
I didn't even need to watch the video to know how good it was. That title told me everything I needed to know.
And Mario's appearance almost killed me. I had to pause for whole minutes so I could finish laughing.
Can we have Mario walk through some of Juliette's lines now?
That was so funny!! Thank you Glove and Boots..you made my day.. :D
I'm psyched that Johnny understands now. I would love to see more of these! :D
Amazing!! It actually made sense students could really understand Shakespeare watching this!
Finally! I got my Johnny T fix. Thank you!! ❤️👊
This is brilliant. This channel deserves at least a couple of million subscribers!
yess!!! finally Glove and Boots thank you for making more Johnny t
3:08 That joke though!! No one on this show could make better adult jokes then Johnny T!
:)
Damn it! Now how will I find out what virginity means?
see when a man loves a girl who doesn't exist very much, -
You see, when a girl replaces her eyeballs with stars in her face hole and then starts touching her ass, if you take the initiative and touch her ass instead...that's what virginity means.
Meh.
Arturo Soto it means you didn't have sex yet
@@cawag8046 lol cut right to the chase, huh?

This was amazing!!! Please kept it up!!!
Dear Glove and Boots:

About time! lol Johnny T is da man!!!!!!!!
Do the whole thing please! I'd fund a kickstarter for a full-length movie of this SO HARD.
"that all the birds in this freakin garden would think it was day time and start chipin" XD
Johnny T's attitude at the beginning embodies everybody I hate who doesn't understand Shakespeare. "Read and use your head, dummy!"
I can not WAIT to see the bloopers on this one!!
That fantastic aaasssss
'Ohhhhh! I get that now!' Lol. nIce job guys, you got a chuckle outta me.

"Talk to me, you eyeless beauty!"
"RoMeO, rOmEo! WhErE fOr ArT tHoU, rOmEo?!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am doing Romeo & Juliet for my GCSE, and this kind of helped. So please do more of this.
I love Shakespeare. I read it for fun, and understand it with perfect clarity.
Cross Dressing Mario......Whelp I'm off to dunk my eyes and brain in scalding bleach.
Wanna know something more horrifying? Since there were laws forbidding women from acting in plays during Shakespeare's heyday, *all* female characters had to be dudes in drag! So Mario playing Juliet is just another historical accuracy bonus!
Daniel Brant
.........I'm gonna need something stronger than bleach, I'm getting the Hydrochloric acid
Here you go: HCl.
And if you still want the bleach: NaClO (Sodium hypochlorite)
Please please please do more of these Shakespeare interpretations!
I love Shakespeare and this was just so freaking funny!!
Johnny: "Goddess of the moon? That's gotta be like the most boring thing to be goddess of ever!"
Fafa: "Well, She's also the goddess of virginity"
Johnny: "I stand corrected."
- brilliant dialogue there.
I've never read shakespeare now that sounds interesting!
Thanks for making it interesting
I would love to see some more translations from Johnny T.
Now I want to see an actual Romeo and Juliet performance play out like this, with the dialogue and all. ROFL XD This is as brilliantly written as the Hamlet scene in Last Action Hero.
Love your channel guys, keep the vids coming, keep going strong
