I really love that Ryu goes back and does Maker 1 runs. It's such an easy switch over and no one else that I watch does it. Respect Ryu. Also, it's what the people want. lol. Endless is cool, but the difference between the two games is pretty big. I love the variety and seeing the difference in levels between the two games.
I think it's much more entertaining watching him play garabage levels and the fact that there's an actual goal to accomplish also makes it far more engaging.
The biggest difference might be that SMM2 hides those sadistic levels, and there's not way to look for them. I made a few for fun, but they're played once or twice and then never.

Another issue is probably that the levels that're still uncleared at this point tend to be the most blazing of hot garbage, ultra-precision technique levels, and lengthy/tedious autoscrollers and pseudo-autoscrollers -- the kind of stuff that isn't fun to play or watch, and is thus bad for stream engagement and YT videos.
IMO it would be great to go back to some of these levels in the editor that have hidden blocks everywhere just to look at laugh at, see how many of them you miraculously missed and how many more there were waiting for you on different routes.

@Eric Lee Because it is, endless isn't the same with no end goal it get's dry. They changed some mechanics from MM1 that made levels either harder or less creative in MM2. The character DLCs where your mario could be dressed up as a lot of different characters which you would just unlock by playing.

The reason why you get such garbage levels in MM1 compared to MM2 is simply because there's no thumbs down button. But it also makes it pretty damn fun and interesting for your videos!
