Super Dragon Ball Heroes is just a promotional anime for the game, it’s plot is not supposed to make sense, the animation isn’t high tier, it’s just fan service! Still highly recommend it since it has some cool fights and transformations!

The reason Dan Dan Kokoro feels like an ending is because in a way…it sort of is. It was the opening, but it was also the song that was used for Goku’s final goodbye. So in a way, it’s both an opening AND an ending…

While I don't think DBS is great as a whole. I will say that the endings is something that it handled better than DBZ, We Were Angels is my favorite Dragon Ball ending but it's only the Buu saga and while I like Zenkai Power (it's a cute song), I don't think it should've lasted 3 sagas. But I think the series that handled the endings best is GT. There's 4 endings for each arcs (though, 2 endings don't start right when their arcs start (but for ending 2, it's a pretty good transition since Baby just took Vegeta's body)) and they're all awesome and give me chills everytime I listen to them. The English versions of them are great too, though, I don't think their re-orchestrated instrumentals are as good as the originals.

Yes, I can confirm, I grew up with DBZ Kai and only listened to Chala Head Chala for the first time like 5 years later and the song still somehow gave me nostalgic feeling
Sdbh is non connon but it has the most wanted transformations / god tiers animation ( every episode as I remember has the top quality of dbs ) / god tier fights / brings back vilains from connon and non cannon movies but the story kinda is really quick you might get confused sometimes and power scaling is kinda bad but still I will give it 8/10 if you end super you should check that before super 2
Edit: coz a lot of ppl are confused with the "God tier animation" I will explain why I called it that.. So heroes as all we know is made of episodes 7 min long but with months of work time which is way better than the 1 week super had. In every episode of super you will see some not detailed parts or when you pause the episode you get this "goofy" Animation on their faces or anywhere which doesn't happen in heroes. And not every episode is made of shida but in like 70% of the fights you can see difference in animation for example. Cumber vs cooler, black vs ui goku, gogeta vs black you get my point.

Kai actually doesn't have DBS art style outside the opening and endings. And tbh, I'm glad they kept the old look. I wish there weren't some jarring redrawn scenes in the first 3 arcs and the Buu arc wasn't 16:9 only and green tinted though. But I still really like to watch Kai, especially for the much faster (and imo, better, especially for the Frieza arc) pacing and the better English and French dubs (yes, I'm french).
Especially when you realize that Goku V Freezia is the longest fight in shonen anime history (and probably regular anime history) at an incredible 19 episodes or about 6 and 1/3 hours.

I'm french as well! I remember watching all of Kai when I was a teen, I don't kniw why people are complaining about it! The artstyle (what I mean buy that is the recolored scenes), the soundtracks, the pacing and the voice acting are way better than OG DBZ imo

Fun fact about the lyrics to Cha-la Head Cha-la. They actually convey Goku's thoughts and feelings if you pay close attention.

There’s an English version for both DBS openings, and there’s one for Kai that is worth checking out as well (there are a bunch of English versions for Kai, but only one is really worth checking out).
The English GT opening is worth checking out too. Not because it's as good as the others but because it's really funny.

Cha-La Head Cha-La no doubt is the best! So much nostalgia man! And for the Super Dragon Ball Heroes, it’s not part of the original storyline but for a game. The original storyline ends with the Tournament of Power. I suggest you read the manga for continuation of DBS. They won’t be releasing DBS 2 soon. But I tell you, the next arcs of DBS are so good bruh.

Dragonball heroes is a trading card based arcade game and they made a short supplementary anime series based on it. Its basically "Dragonball What if...?" with its own sort of timeline separate from the mange/anime.

Super Dragon ball Heroes is an ad anime. They use it to announce new characters for their game, and usually an episode s 7-10 minutes long. But they bring in stuff fans want, or have wanted for a while. Great fan service.
Sdbh is non cannon but it’s amazing the fights, the transformations, the fact that they bring back characters from dbz and the new characters I would definitely recommend watching this but watch after super because there are a few transformations that are spoilers from the tournament of power
Just think Marvel's What Ifs. It's got that same "anything can happen, anyone can fight anyone" energy. They are non canon episodes that are usually about 10 minutes long. Used for promotions that tie in to the Japanese only games. Some great ideas, cool moments and transformations, but sometimes the execution falls flat. But I say still watch it after you finish ToP.
All are essentially pop songs. If you want an orchestral experience there are tons of albums released for the old Space Battleship Yamato episodes and movies.

Dragonball and Dragonball Z along with other anime was aired primetime in my country when I was 9 or 10 years old (I'm 33 years old now), kinda missing the good old times when my whole family watched dragonball during dinnertime. Sometimes my friend come on over and watched it with us and were like having a small dragonball watch party 🥲

super dragon ball heroes is an anime made to promote the game, it doesn't matter if you watch it or not because it's not canon, but it has interesting characters

Fun Fact: The first ever dragon ball thing i saw was DBZ Kai Final Chapters, then I watched DbzKai then i watched GT then OG Dragon Ball then DBZ then Super and then super dragon ball heroes and recently DBS broly and DBS super Hero
As for what Heroes is; you know how there was all the lore and concepts made for Dragon Ball Online, which was then retooled for the Xenovese games after it went down? Heroes/Super Heroes is a card-based arcade game based around the same concepts, though not the same timeline and some characters are handled differently. It was originally arcade-only but rather recently got "World Mission" which is a console/PC version that includes most the arcade missions (I believe it stops at around where the anime begins actually, but don't quote me on that) as well as a more indepth original story mode. It started out pretty simple, but rapidly expanded, adding tons of new characters, settings, and concepts, to the point that Heroes is now basically an entirely separate canon running alongside the Super one.
Said storyline in-game is very basic as far as I can tell (I've only played the world mission versions of the arcade stuff), but it is known for having dozens of really cool animated trailers that give a good idea of the plot and I highly recommend checking out. Eventually it got a manga adaptation however, and the opening you saw is for the anime adaptation, of the manga adaptation, of the card game, that spun off from the MMORPG, of Dragon Ball. Before you get your hopes up, it's a short anime, so including OPs and EDs the episodes are like 15 minutes or so, but there are multiple seasons already, so there's a good amount to watch even with the individual episodes being very quick. I'm only midway into the first season incidentally, so I can't comment on if/how it changes later. I'd definitely recommend it, as while I flip around at times, all-in-all I tend to prefer the Heroes timeline over the Super one.

7:05 - The reason for that is because GT was originally made to be the end of all of Dragon Ball. It's melancholic for a reason. GT had somewhat of a finality to it. Actually it had everything of a finality to it.
But make no mistake. There is a TON of action in it, even if the fights are shorter than they are in Z.

I wish you'd have watched the version with splitscreen for multiple versions. It's not a big deal for most of them, but the first dragon ball super opening has an alternate version for the Freeza Resurrection arc, the Universe 6 arc, and the Goku Black arc. The bit with Mr. Satan and Jaco is replaced by arc specific animation in each one. Also, some side characters show up briefly in later versions.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a promotional anime, created to promote the card-based "tactical" videogame which was exclusive to Japan (and I'm pretty sure Nintendo potable consoles) until recently. It's low budget with short episodes of around 8 minutes and it's basically based on a universe that's loosely "what would happen if fan fiction was canon", plus some new original characters. It's the same universe which Dragon Ball Xenoverse made a little bit more popular in the recent years.
It's not a big deal, but if someone were to watch it, I'd suggest watching everything else first (DB, DBZ, DBGT, DBS, and all the movies and tv specials) just to not have that feeling of "who the heck is this?!" whenever a character enters the scene. This is the main attraction of the show, after all.

DB Heroes is a web-only mini series based on an arcade game in Japan. The series is fun for a lot of "what if..?" style fights and random wild powerups, like Golden Mecha Cooler from the opening and some random new Saiyans and demon characters. They use trading cards to activate characters on a battle board. Look it up sometime, it's pretty interesting. The only problem is it's been running for AGES so it's basically PS3 era graphics. They ported it to consoles recently but it doesn't look very good and it's complicated to play.

Major differences between gt and super pilaf uses the previously unknown black star DragonBalls to make his wish but goku after finishing training uub accidentally stumbles in on them and out of fear and want for revenge pilaf wishes that goku was a kid again so he could show him what for but somehow offscreen in super pilaf, Mia, and shu are returned to their childhood instead

Dbsh is a promotional anime for a card game in Japan, it’s complete separate in every way from the story db, dbz and super are progressing currently. It’s fun, it’s essentially easy way for them to sell new merchandise
7:03 the opening sounds like departure music because the series is about Goku’s farewell, Its about Goku’s final adventures before he departs, and it was purposefully done to reflect the adventures that started gokus journey, which is dragon ball, hence why he was turned to as a child to mimic the dragon ball journey. Goku in GT was more easy going and fooling around in a way it reflects to how goku was in dragon ball.
SDBH is a promotional anime to their own arcade game exclusive in Japan, where you can gather cards of character from DB franchises including non cannon ones like movies and GT , so usually their episodes last shorter than 10 minutes and its filled with alot of fan service such as SSJ4 vs SSJB Goku, different future trunks, Goku Black's return with SSJR3 etc, hecc including Bardock himself
