The double group head allows for better temperature stability if you are pulling a lot of shots at a time.

I've read rising the portafilter with cold water does the trick for the single group head machine.

Hello, thank you for the video. Do you think that the result in cup of an Export model is as good as with the Lusso?

Main reason for 2 groups: way more cool, especially with this small footprint machine. Thanks for the portafilter "clash" info, this is not exactly great though.

That's so true. The 2 group machine makes you feel like you have a cafe in your kitchen.

I got this machine (single group head) about a week ago, it's great. I do have problems with channeling in 8 out of 10 shots though. I've tried your suggestion fixating the portafilter whilst pulling the shot but I don't see much improvement. Have you got any other thoughts on that?

Welcome to the club and congratulations on your purchase! For me channeling was significantly reduced once I did the WDT distribution method and adopted a heavy tamp. For the WDT you can use a paper clip or something similar. As for tamping I just tamp very hard. (Be sure to get a good tamper.)
One other thing to check is your grind. As you can see from my videos when I pre-infuse for 10 seconds I often get a few drips out. Then with my 2 Felini + 2 full pulls I get my shot out in 30-40 seconds.
Anyway, don't be afraid to test different grind settings, lever techniques and tamp pressures. It took me a month or so before I found out for myself what works for the beans that I use. Enjoy your new PVL.
