    When u are tipping the two bales of silage u should drop the two bales on the ground then pull the ram and lifted up your arms and back up the same time u won’t be putting any stress on the ram then. :)

      Fergal Keane I do drop them down.99 times out of 100. U must be looking at that 1 time 😂

    Great video, great to see you are washing all your good machinery for the winter. Made bales on October 22nd last year, bales were fine when I opened them but would go off colour after 24 hours, so I started giving them just enough for the day, they are it all anyway 👍

    • @gerry6420
      @gerry6420  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Kelly yes these probably will go off but quicker too. I’ll feed them the same. Just as they need them

    Good to see there's nothing wrong with the Brown's hydraulic's!!! Nice one Gerry 😎😎

    • @gerry6420

      Stephanie Robinson no bother to the brown. More weights needed on the front though 😬

    We stopped tipping the bales up on their end 3 years ago. We set them the same way we lift them. Far easier and faster and come winter, they are easier to lift also. Everyone around us is doing the same also even when stacking up to 5 high. No need for hydraulic or the old pulling of rope job. People are now buying the lifters without the tip over option. Saves a lot of money.

    Hi Gerry, thanks again for all the great videos. Just wondering what sort of cattle clippers would u recommend for doing cattle s backs and tails , I m using one that has A 9 blades but they don’t last long with dirty cattle ,

    • @gerry6420

      These are what I use
      www.fanevalleystores.com/categories/clipping-shearing/clippers/machines/products/27101/Heiniger-Xtra-Sheep-Clipper
      Could clip 100/150 cattle. No issue. Just keep them oiled.

    • @25paddock
      @25paddock 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sound did that Gerry, roughly how many cattle would u get out of a set of blades

    • @gerry6420
      @gerry6420  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Delaney 100/150 cattle per blade. usually once they kept oiled when using them. Have a little tub with oil in it and between each animal dip the blade in and keep them lubricated

      @@gerry6420 We make all our silage (3500 bales per year) using two/three tractors with front and rear handlers. Dont use any trailers. Think it works really well. obviously depends on the distance and whether there is much road work. Fleming handlers are good but maybe could be a bit stronger - bales are getting bigger and bigger. Anyway, all the best!
