Thank you for answering my question. To be more specific, the two cent Washington and other Presidents of this period when these stamps were printed. Some have a blue line or red line, green or specific color line on either side or top and bottom. A example can be seen on Google stamps at the top of the pages, you will see their asking price, really high prices. Type in President , blue line or red line or other color line on stamp stamp. The asking price is a lot more than the asking of that mint or used stamp. Thousands of dollars more is the difference in asking prices. Thank you, Daniel McMahon
I stumbled across the Stampworld site and catalogue a few years ago and can highly recommend it. It doesn't provide much on variations, but it is nonetheless quite comprehensive and easy to use. It is also regularly updated, which I can't say about my hard copy catalogues unless I pay for it. It also provides information on the likes of revenue, postage due and official stamps. I wish they also listed specimen stamps, but you can't expect everything for nothing. Booklets are also missing. My Stanley Gibbons for British stamps and Scott catalogues also don't provide me with specimen stamp valuations and I had to pay for those.
I always have my doubts about a site that also sells stamps. My folks have some antiques they attempted to have appraised and they price it and then say I’ll buy it from you. Not cool
