NG is already readily available in the U.S. and is a much cleaner fuel.

CNG is great alternative if you have a fuel station near you. I don’t think car manufacturers educated people about CNG cars and government barely supported them. However, in countries like India, CNG cars are very popular.

The problem is that both are difficult to store and transport, and hydrogen leaks through the gaps of the material that contains it, making it weaker. People use CNG because the cost of the equipment is cheap, and the fuel is also cheap. The range of a CNG car is also proof that the central problem with electric cars is not range, nor infrastructure.

@Gene Korin, this Honda was not my car. I just borrowed it for the review. Honda recommended valve adjustment at 30k miles. But I have seen some CNG cars going beyond 45k miles before adjustments because some people wait for them to be noisy.
does anyone know if 2014-2015 cng version (natural gas version) transmission is cvt or just standard classic regular transmission ?? because 2014-2015 gasoline version have a cvt.
@John Reno, the CNG Civics came with 5-speed automatic as standard. The hybrid CIVICs came with CVT as standard. All the research I did indicate that the CNG had auto transmission. Thanks for watching!
@Organic Intelligence, the car will keep up with modern traffic just fine. It drives and feels like a regular Honda Civic. It is not the fastest but if you weren’t aware that it uses CNG, you would think it’s just a regular Civic.
@Organic Intelligence, it’s nice especially when the fuel prices are so high but I would rather have a regular Civic. Depending on where you live, CNG stations are not conveniently available. You have to plan your driving so you do not get stranded.

There are a few here and there. They are mostly used by the city governments to fuel buses and garbage trucks.
