Sir, thank you for the video.
I would just like to highlight something to you.....
You're a very lucky man to have such and amazing bike to be able to do this mod to.
I'm extremely envious and hope this mod put the biggest smile on your face!

Thanks Mr. Nash! One of the easiest Mods I have ever performed! Looking forward to getting my Gurued ECU back!

Yes it will - when purchasing your ECU flash, it's asked if your airbox is modified, so your new map will consider this point for the fuel mixture

I would have liked to have seen a view of the filter in place from the inside of the box after the mod. Also, how much of an increase in the top end did you see after doing this? Did you lose any on the low end? (then again, there is plenty enough low end to keep that smile on the face, I think a couple lost down low will not hurt much.
This is similar to the airbox mod I did on my 98 Shadow 750 I used to own. The stock redline was 5700, and the bike did not like to go beyond 85. Opening the airbox on that bike allowed enough airflow in to boost power enough that I could hit 120 and she still pulled hard. (not bad for a Honda Shadow.)
If you could share some before and after dyno figures, that would be very nice. I imagine the increase in power should be noticable.

Oh yes and I forgot to say I still have stock exhaust also.

Can I modify my air box with my stock ecu and will it make any kind of difference?

I went with Voodo 4 into 2 exhaust, and want to do this mod.
What is better a cpu reflash or bazzaz, dynojet, wiseco fuel controller?

Any harm doing this on a stock bike with zero modifications ?

Merci a yamaha d'avoir autant facilité le retrait du restricteur d'air... peut-être pas involontaire tout ça...

this window distributes the flow evenly, without it the rear cylinders will receive more air than the front

You're the only one that makes any sense, I just did a full video because I couldn't find anything how to get to the air filter, at this point I have a tendency to agree with your comments, so before I'm destroying some Yamaha Japanese engineer work, I'm getting much information about this change, thanks.
