I don't support Arsenal, never the less, White knew what happened to him last time out, and with him in good form for his club and enjoying his football under Arteta who manages well than Southgate does, it's plain and clear to see that he doesn't want to waste his time on the England bench. Southgate and his coaching team did not treat him with any respect that White would always give them. The blame deserves to be on Southgate because of his ego, picking underperforming favourites such as Maguire, Henderson, and Philips who do 0% for their clubs and shouldn't be playing for England.

Having friendlies at this point in the season is bananas. The crunch point in all leagues and cups to take everyones best players and play literally pointless games that have no tangible value to risk all the top players in the run in. When Paul Scholes retired earlier from England national team, i didn't hear Redknapp and all the Talktoomuch people.
Think Scholes made over 60 caps and played for England for nearly 10 years he was in his right to retire when he did? Bit different

We can only speculate as to what has happened without the full facts of what has gone on behind the scenes.
White has shown in the past how happy he has been to get a call up and that he does want to represent his country. The trouble is Southgate.
For anyone that is defending Southgate or having a go at White, just look at how Southgate has managed the team. There have been plenty of players that have not only deserved a call up but also to start.
Last season, Ramsdale was really good for Arsenal. He didn't even get a sniff at starting a game apart from once, in a friendly, because Pickford is his favourite.
Harry Maguire was still being chosen to not only be a part of the team but also start, even when he was playing really bad or not at all at club level. Tomori had won a Serie A around the time when Maguire wasn't doing good, and he didn't get a chance.
Phillips and Henderson are both getting picked when they haven't played or haven't been playing particularly well, yet JWP gets overlooked.
There are so many good players that haven't been given the chance to showcase what they can do, all because Southgate chooses his favourite players. Even when they are not playing for their club! Its a joke, and its not motivating for players, knowing full well that they won't even get a chance to play. Even if they have been playing well for a while and are in great form. They won't get picked on merit, only if Southgates favouite(s) get injured.
He's turning Southgate down not England. Don't blame him at all.

Good for white. I have no issue at all for him deciding not play for England. Its his choice if he's want or not. Whatever the reason is, that's his business. Also hes been playing so well for the last 2 years but got over looked by James and chidwell so I don't blame him. Now all of sudden because of there injuries, he's gets looked at?

Southgate hung Ben White out to dry - the worst part of this, as evidenced by a lot of the comments is that everyone is simply taking Southgate at his word, listening to the one side and forgetting that White hasn't., and probably won't get to say what actually happened from his side. Critical thinking should have us ask if there couldn't be possibly more to it than the idea that Ben White, a man who has chosen to be a professional footballer, with all of the lifestyle choices it entails, simply doesn't care enough to play for his national team. Doesn't make sense to me to assume that he really just "can't be bothered", like a lot of people, even those who support him, seem to be accepting as true.
